We have been coming here for years. It remains one of our top restaurant choices in the area. All the food is very good. The lobster bisque is delicious, they have an eggplant stack that's not always on the menu, but you can always ask for it, and it's wonderful. Their pasta sauce is very good. And we recently discovered that their PIZZA IS EXCELLENT! Absolutely the best around. Thin or thick crust (we had the thin), the crust is very tasty and the added ingredients are the best. Considering that Girard is a town populated by a large majority of Italian families, it's mildly surprising there wasn't a successful Italian restaurant in town before this one; at least not that I can remember in my lifetime. My parents really enjoy the food here and I would agree with them. They have calzones/stromboli which aren't listed on the menu, but we get them pretty often and they are an excellent takeout option. Dining in, the restaurant isn't totally accommodating as it's pretty small and usually busy on a relative scale. However, I can only recall one occasion during which we actually had to wait to be seated, so that speaks well for the staff and management. Even if there were somewhat larger inconveniences, the food is good enough to make up for it and the portions are also quite generous. This has become a staple of the cuisine that Girard, Ohio has to offer and I'll be looking forward to eating here as long as I'm living in the area. read more

4/21/2017 As a family of five we don't eat out often and when we do I like it to be good food in a comfortable atmosphere and Margherita's ALWAYS delivers. The service here is always quick and efficient without being rushed. Vickie has been our server the last few visits and always takes great care of us. The food is trusty Italian staples and is exceptional. Tonight we started with cheese sticks for the kids, wedding soup for my husband and lobster bisque for me, plus an order of greens with Hungarian hot peppers. My husband had the chicken parmigiana, eggplant for me, kids pasta for my daughter, 12" sausage and pepperoni pizza for one son and the pizza burger for the other. Heads up: the pizza burger is an actual burger sandwiched between two thick slices of white pizza, and it's mammoth! Finished off the meal with a piece of tiramisu to go ('cuz dessert tastes better in your pajamas) All of this for just under $80! read more

My family has only eaten here once and we did so based on the recommendation of a colleague. Being new to the area, recommendations are how we're exploring our new home. Some recommendations have panned out well and some have fallen between "meh" and "what was colleague x thinking?" Margheritas falls in the "meh" category. It wasn't terrible, but I just can't see how he thinks this place is so great. It's simply not great, it's alright. My meal began with the lobster bisque. I just don't eat enough lobster bisque, but really who does? Sadly, this lobster bisque tasted like butter, pink colored butter. I like butter, a lot. But I don't like butter soup. It also wasn't very lobstery. I know that lobster isn't supposed to be crammed with delicious nuggets of lobster, but it should have more than a couple flecks. So, another thing I don't eat enough of is veal. I really love veal - the soft, succelent flesh of immature cow is just awesome. Most of my veal was actually pretty grisly and a little tough. Clearly overcooked and a bad cut. About 1/3 of the cutlet was great, though, and absolutely what I expect in a cut of veal. I think the problem here is one of cost cutting, buying cheaper product. I would have paid a bit more for higher quality. The marsala sauce was delicious, though. Absolutely no complaints about it. The service was good and our waitress was attentive, but good service paired with over priced, mediocre food doesn't do it for me. Of course my kids enjoyed the place. They had pizza. You could tell them anything is pizza and they'd love it. They want to go back, but I didn't get what I paid for so it'll be awhile before I head back and give them a second chance. read more

I remember this place being great when we came a few years ago. Came here with my mom on Saturday and had just an average experience. We both ordered bowls of the lobster bisque. It was okay at first but the more I kept eating, the weirder it tasted. Asked my mom and she thought the exact same thing. We couldn't put our finger on what was wrong with it or what the taste was that we both tasted- metal? A weird chemical? Either way, we had to send it back. It was not good. We both ordered the blood orange, elderflower liqueur and gin drink. That was delicious. In place of the lobster bisque, we got the Thai calamari and that was delicious. I ordered the stuffed shrimp appetizer as my entree and the cream sauce it was served on was really good. My mom ordered a side of lobster risotto and it seems like the lobster bisque and that came out of the same thing- which seems a little strange. I wouldn't be so quick to want to come back here. Maybe for a drink or appetizer but not for a full meal next time. With all our hiccups and the food not being the greatest, our server was very nice and attentive throughout our meal, so that was good. read more

My husband and I spent our first year anniversary here and we were NOT disappointed! Our waiter was a sweetheart she really took the time to get to know us and even recommended dishes for us to try. We didn't like the lobster soup and she sent it back with no problem and recommended the wedding soup which is her favorite and i could see why! I am pregnant and she had my back with a lot of things on the menu she offered me the blackened chicken Alfredo but suggested i get it lightly blackened due to my pregnancy and it was very delicious just enough flavor and not spicy at all. I love most everything about this restaurant ... the food is delicious; I especially enjoy the fresh bread with garlic butter. Service is good, although it was a bit slow when the restaurant was new, it seems to have gotten better. They really took the run-down building and made it beautiful. The parking and getting in and out of the lots is a bit annoying during busy hours, but it's not a big deal. I live right around the corner and like to get carryout once in a while, and they are pretty fast and accurate with the orders. They have live music on Saturdays too. Very nice place! read more

Close to home, can call ahead to order for pick up. They have gluten-free pasta, my favorite dish is the Spaghetti Bolognese! It comes with a side salad and I just ask to leave the bread out of the order. It's a very filling meal! From very creative (and great tasting) mixed drinks, to a great wine list, to a very extensive and delicious food menu (with huge portions), and a great staff - this place was everything you could want in a restaurant.
