Was recently recommended this place from my sister, who saw it on tik tok. Location: off of Imperial Highway & Lakewood Blvd, next block over from a big shopping center. Plenty of parking and the sign outside is huge. Can't miss it! Service: Everyone was very friendly and greeted me. Nothing bad to say about the service when ordering. Ambiance: decorations on the wall were good! Definitely had some Chicano vibes in there and the music was on point. There seemed to be a lot of old Mexican classic bread options and desserts! What was disappointing was there was food on the floor and almost every table was messy. Food: I got the cream cheese croissant which was nuts! Delicious and about the same price you'd pay for one at a moment and pop shop. The horchata latte tasted like someone was trying to mask coffee flavor with horchata and sugar. The birria burrito is what broke my heart. $9 for a burrito that was barely the size of my hand filled with just refried beans and a little chewy birria. I have tried this establishment a few times with my kids. The pastries and drinks are good. I did get an empanada, two different types. They tasted well but for some reason one of them weren't warmed up fully. Which I could understand if you're trying to warm two up at the same time. Minus that, I would recommend trying this place out. It's also very spacious, plenty of room to sit. read more

I'm giving this place a 4 star rating because I really enjoyed the coffee, but if I was just rating the service I'd honestly give it between 2-3 stars. The employees had an attitude that made us not want to stick around and enjoy the atmosphere of the place like we had originally planned. Maybe we caught them on an off day but who knows. I tried this spot hoping to get a taste of "home" Mexican breakfast food but I sadly wasn't impressed ): I originally wanted the chorizo burrito with egg added into the burrito but they said they were unable to modify the burrito?.. so I went with the torta that has egg, hash brown &chorizo. The hash brown still had the frozen taste to it and the egg had large peppercorns that over powered the whole torta. I asked for ketchup and they advised they don't carry that condiment /: Giving it 2 stars because the staff members were friendly and the location was clean. Love the atmosphere and love the friendly staff at this location. It was my first time here and I was wowed by the coffee blend. I tried the Horchata Cold Brew which was the perfect amount of coffee. It wasn't too sweet and I loved it. I paired it with an Empanada de Birria which was recommended by our barista. The empanada was delicious and came with some purple onions plus red salsa. This small empanada was super filling even though it seemed like a snack. I loved my coffee so much that I decided to get a to go beverage. I got a Tres Leches Cream Cold Brew iced and it was amazing. Honestly I will definitely be returning for a quick coffee and I would highly recommend that you listen to the baristas if you don't know what you want. First timers here! Came with my mom & we both got a cold brew and slice of cake. Great service, we were greeted and helped as soon as we walked in the building. The young gentlemen working in the front helped us walk through some options to eventually end up with the items we got. I wanna say the Large Cold Brew in the picture was $6 and the slice of cake was $5.95. For prices nowadays I thought it was write up the alley! Even maybe a little cheap for the cold brew and its size. Also, the tres leches cake definitely left me wanting another slice! A word to the wise if you're not a big coffee drinker do not start with the cold brew very lightly sweetened extremely heavy on the caffeine not my favorite first choice the blended Drinks are good. Tasty for sure and their pastries are super delicious The location is small and can easily get very packed. Not hard to find a seat though service was quick and friendly. Mariachi Bakery is so cute. It is in Downey and parking is easy. The place is so clean and I love the decor. They have some of the best Mexican style pastries you will find in town. We love their great assortment of pan dulce. You can have your treats there or take them to do. The service is very nice and they are patient when you can't decide if you want 12 pastries or 20. They have great cakes and coffee. They have seasonal cold brew coffee, which looked great on other tables, but I did not try it so I can't be sure. You will love the family atmosphere of this place. Came for their winter menu and the drinks were amazing. Placed an online order since it was a 20 minute drive for me to get there. Got the cookies and cream and the arroz con leche lattes. Unfortunately one of the bakery items I ordered wasn't available and when I came to pick up, no one mentioned anything so I was sadly disappointed when I opened the box to not find what I was looking for. Staff was friendly. I actually went inside to confirm the missing item and they did substitute it with their best option available but I didn't go for that so that was disappointing. If someone has food, allergies, and these workers are working in a food industry business, they should have more than enough knowledge on cross contamination if someone is telling you, they have a peanut allergy and could DIE from eating peanuts, and the guy has a rude attitude about it telling me he doesn't have to abide by my request acting like he owns the store he would've put the whole company in jeopardy. Occasionally, I visit the Goodwill next door, but one day I noticed that this restaurant replaced a previous business that was there so that caught my attention. When I walked inside, I started to admire the various delicious-looking pastries. However I didn't try any of them (for my first visit anyway). I started to order the Horchata Cream Frappe, but I also wanted to try an empanada as well. The birria empanada was kind of small, but it was flavorful. The horchata cream frappe was tasty, and the cinnamon wasn't overpowering or too sweet. The drink also had a surprisingly amount of longevity. The service was excellent! The selections of pan dulce are off the hook. The person behind the counter broke down all the names and ingredients for their most popular baked goods. I wanted to try the horchata 3 leches cake and it is really good, perfect amount of sweetness and I loved they don't add a lot of cinnamon on top. I also bought elote fino bread and it is the first time I see a good amount of yellow filling inside it had a lot of flavor. Next time I want to try the drinks. Wow this is the most welcoming and modern cafe bakery I've been to in a while. All the people working here are so kind and enthusiastic to help you. The place is very clean and it's not too crowded to find a seat! The menu here is rather big with so many specialty drinks and classic coffees. Endless Latin inspired flavors to choose from it's hard to just pick one! They also have matcha lattes for those who don't enjoy coffee! I would give 3.5 stars if I could. First off, don't expect big portions, and expect a little bit of a wait time. I tried the huevo con machaca burrito and a mazapán concha. The burritos are anorexic when compared to, say, Chipotle or most mom and pop places. I found that the rice by itself didn't have any flavor at all and was a tiny bit hard. The side of red onions you get is just weird. They're not seasoned or marinated, they're just slightly tender onions. Again, weird. The salsa, though, is pretty tasty and has a good amount of heat. The mazapán concha was so cute and small. I'm not sure if they have a full-size or maybe that is the full-size idk but it was just the right size when you only want two bites of something sweet. Sadly, the mazapán flavor is really, really subtle, and I think I'm being generous. Takeaway- Prices as expected/slightly high for what you get. Portions are on the smaller side. Flavors are ok, but lack intensity/depth. That being said, I will go back to try one or two more things on the menu before making any final conclusions. read more

Stopped by for 4th of July red white n blue conchas. They were the small ones at $1.50 each. Overall overpriced and not living up to the hype I've read about. The decor is nice to sit and have a snack with family or friends I guess. The servers were neither nice or helpful. Doubt I'll return, just went to try it out that one day.
