The chips was crisp and the guacamole was really fresh and tasty. The enchiladas was good with that green sauce on them... YUMMY!!! The service is exceptional. All of the servers are friendly, and they work well together to make sure that everyone is attended to. I really wanted to like this place, the food was just not what I expect from authentic Mexican restaurant. Especially when a plate and a Mexican soda for one comes out to $20. I ordered a combo that included a Chile relleno, a sope and a tostada with choice of meat; I chose chicken. The refried beans, rice, and the chicken were are all bland, and I don't just mean that they lacked salt. I mean they lacked flavor in general. The chicken was also dry, so it was difficult to wash down. The Chile relleno barely had any sauce on it at all, so again, difficult to wash down. What a bummer. I stayed away from this place for years due to their mediocre food and cold deliveries.. My husband and I decided to give it another try . We sat at the newly renovated bar area and to our surprise it was happy hour $5 margaritas $20 buckets of beer and $3 appys . We got the chalupas, mini tacos and flautas they were delicious and huge portions. We then ordered a bucket of beer and a torta and 2 more tacos . The meat was soft and flavorful, the torta was on point the chiles were fresh and the meat was crispy, my torta bread was toasted just how I like it. We found this place by accident. We were around the area looking for another place to eat but we ended up going to a wrong parking lot. We were like, this place looks authentic, if they have lengua tacos (beef tongue), forget the other place, we'll just eat here. One of us got out from the car, checked their menu & yes, they do serve lengua tacos! We went in & seated immediately. Our waitress were very polite. The place was busy. They were having a live Mexican music when we were there. It was fun. Great atmosphere! We ordered 3 lengua tacos, a Cubana tortas, & a cheese quesadilla. The food came out pretty quickly. The hot sauce here is good. If you love spicy food, you'll love the hot sauce here. It's spicy! It's not just sour like most Mexican places that we went. Don't go too crazy with the hot sauce here. The lengua tacos were good but not great. The meat isn't as flavorful as some other lengua tacos that we've tried before. It's not bad. It's still delicious but just not amazing. The Cubana tortas were huge! Packed full of meat, eggs, & avocado. The meat were flavorful but wish it would be softer & less chewy. The cheese quesadilla were pretty cheesy. I just moved back to westchester and was so excited to try out a new burrito spot - unfortunately, I ordered from here and had such a terrible lunch experience. First, the burritos themselves are extremely difficult to hold. I barely lifted mine up and it completely unfolded, with the ingredients falling right out and onto the plate. I would've been okay with this, eat with a fork no problem. The issue was - the burrito only had beans, meat, and rice in it despite being advertised as having sour cream, cheese, guacamole and salsa. At this point I was a little upset, but not super angry. I decided to call back just to give them a heads up the order was incorrect, not really expecting much except an apology or maybe a note about them taking more care next time. What did I get? Not that! Instead, the owner didn't believe me. He said everything would come on the side, but there was nothing added to the bag. I heard a woman mention she did pack everything, and I totally understand she may have thought she did or packed another order, but mine came completely alone with none of the sides added in. After multiple back and forth, he asked me to send pictures to prove it, which I did. He asked me to move the burrito around in the pictures - it's pretty hard to miss GREEN guacamole and RED salsa, which were obviously not in the burrito. After all that, they still didn't believe me. One of the worst lunches I've had, along with the worst customer service. Please beware and go to other Mexican restaurants in the area - I'm sure you'll have a much more pleasant experience! read more

I've been ordering takeout from here the past couple of years. It is what some would consider "authentic" Mexican. I've never actually dined inside, but always pick up. It is sort of a hole in the wall in my opinion, nothing fancy by any means, but they are usually always busy in there and the staff are all very friendly. Most of the staff don't speak fluent English, but they try and are still super accommodating to those of us who do not speak good Spanish. Communication is never an issue. My go to staples are as follows: -Spinach and mushroom quesadilla - Shrimp Quesadilla - Guacamole (so delicious and fresh!) - Horchata! (Yummy) I have also tried some of their steak dishes but was never really impressed. I wasn't crazy about the spices they put on and also I didn't feel like the steaks were fresh. Recently we also ordered the chicken fajitas. It was tasty but I didn't feel like the chicken was very fresh either. So basically what I'm saying is that I stick to their vegetarian options (or shrimp) rather than their meat options. I do not really like their chips and salsa. I find their chips to be kind of bland and their salsa doesn't taste very "salsa-ish" if that makes any sense. Their tacos look very tasty and fresh when i have seen them prepare them, but I never tried them. I am definitely interested in dining in one night and trying some of their other items. Overall i would rate this place a 3.5, but I am bumping it up to a 4. My go- to staples are definitely 5 Star, everything else is kind of just average. We ordered food and it was over 30 minutes late and on top of that they forgot to deliver our large order of guacamole. We called and they said they would run it right over . Not from the area and was craving authentic Mexican food. Well, this is it. I got a chicken burrito and my daughter shrimp tacos, soft. The burrito was huge. Shrimp tacos tasty. For dessert we got a tres leche cake and flan.The flan was good...not as creamy as a true flan, but amazing and the tres leche was wonderful. A real hidden gem. If you don't look closely, you might miss this place and the tiny shopping center it's hiding in. Super authentic, the server and I can just barely communicate. One of the best Mexican places I've eaten from. This place is very small, so everyone must squeeze in for a spot. They sit you down and immediately serve you some free nachos topped with bean and queso fresco, along with some salsa verde. Went to this place many times when it was the former Mexican Restaurant, Cafè Maya. Sadly, this new version is a sad disappointment. The food was extremely salty, the appetizers were smaller, and the main courses were cold and not well presented. I had asked for a Diet Coke twice, only to get regular Coke twice - being a diabetic, I think I would know the difference. It seems whoever refilled the fountain soda syrup mixed Coke with the Diet Coke connection. He could not understand that, saying he was hitting the right buttons. The restaurant had the a/c on- on a 42 degree day. We finally had enough, and We asked for our check and waited 10 minutes to get it. We then waited 15 minutes for someone to pick it up. Flavor of the meat dishes was fine, but the quality was not the greatest. The filling seemed old and dry, and in every other bite there was some sort of inedible sinew or fat chunk. This place is a hidden gem! Really good food, friendly staff, big portions and great prices! They make everything to order, our waitress actually made our guacamole, I saw her cutting open the avocado!! I had a trio of soft tacos with rice and beans and my wife had chicken and chorizo fajitas, both recommended. What made me feel at ease when I walked in is there clientele. There were numerous people from all backgrounds, including Mexican Americans!!! I usually find that when you see customers eating at a place that come from the same origin as the cuisine, you are in good hands. We will definitely go back to try there other dishes. All hail Mariachi Loco, the savior of Central Avenue's otherwise disappointing Mexican food offerings. Following their recent renovation and expansion, Loco is no longer the divey, claustrophobic kitchen whose food and patrons effortlessly recreated an exceptionally authentic Mexican experience. They've doubled in size, and the old eatery now rests adjoined to a dimly lit, well-furbished dining room stocked with a full bar and varnished tables. Of course the Mariachi Loco diehards like me will be resistant to change, but I congratulate them on this exiting business game changer. As for the food, nothing else comes close. Forgoing the chips-and-salsa cliches, Loco drops a plate of homemade chips pre-smothered in salsa, refried beans and cheese. You'd be daft not to order the enchiladas mole con pollo, a huge portion of four enchiladas soaking in what is unquestionably the best mole sauce in Westchester county. For something less goopy go for the carnitas tacos or one of their enormous sandwiches. Holy hell writing this is making me starving, I need to stop. read more

Came here to have some brunch/lunch on a Sunday and left with a belly full of food. Pros: 1) The food...quality ingredients and lots of it. It tasted very authentic. They started with a free plate of tortillas (I think corn) with salsa and some beans. I ordered a oversized beef burrito, and it was OVERSIZED. Flavorwise, it was good to very good. 2) The people/service. My server/waitress was very friendly and quick. Cons: 1) The Decor... The place is a "hole in the wall." But it almost gives it a city/rustic appeal. 2) Parking... Due to construction, I had to leave the way I came in, which probably pissed off cars thinking that I was illegally going out a Do Not Enter area. Best Mexican take out in the greater White Plains area. They have an extensive menu of Mexican classics, all huge portions and all relatively inexpensive. We tend to go Burritos, which are gigantic - easily split by 2 people if you're not completely starving. I would recommend the chili burrito (ground beef) or the shrimp. I used to love the Arizona but I got one (and honestly, only one) chewy piece of chicken once that turned me off from ordering it again. Glad I came across this place when trying to order lunch for the office. Not only is it literally 10 mins away, but the food is FREAKING DELICIOUS! Now we order from there frequently, and sometimes I stop by after work to grab some take home. The staff for the most part is nice but sometimes the lady seems to have a little attitude over the phone. The prices are more than affordable, especially for the portions that you get. Their guac and chips are awesome! Guac is always fresh and tasty. Love their burritos supreme and quesadillas. There are only a few tables in a cramped space. The food is pretty much what you would expect for Mexican take-out. Not FANTASTIC, but solid passable Mexican. For me, a HUGE upside is that they deliver right up til the last minute. If they close at 10:30 and you call at 10:20, they'll take your order AND deliver it, a rarity in Westchester.
