    Carne Asada Tacos

Love their carne asada tacos and carne asada super burrito. Especially love how the carne asada has some crisp to it. I've been here 3 times in the past week. Serivce was great and contradicts some of the bad reviews for service. Definitely one of the more cleaner Mexican restaurants I've been too so nothing bad to say about the ambiance and atmosphere.

    Chile verde plate!!

I keep going back there for the chile verde plate. It's just amazingly delicious. Sometimes I mix it up with the chile verde quesadilla. The flavor is just packed in so well. Used to live much closer but now it's almost a 45 min drive and it's not on the way to anything for me. Heading back tomorrow and the anticipation is very high. There are some downsides such as no heat or a/c, and no beer on tap. But I'm not taking away any stars for that cuz the chile verde is that good. Edit- the next day just got my chili verde fix!!!!! OMG so good....

    Sad super vegetarian burrito

I used to love Mariachi and would come here often when I wanted Mexican food. In the past I was always happy with the food and service. The last three or four times I have ordered from here it's become apparent that the quality and consistency have gone downhill. If you order the exact same thing, you will get something totally different each time. I recently ordered a vegetarian super burrito, which is supposed to have rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and salsa. When I cut into the burrito at home, it saw that it literally only had black beans and rice. Not exactly appetizing. The previous time I ordered a veggie super burrito, it primarily had rice and very little of anything else. I don't think I'll be going here anymore, unfortunately. I always try to support Martinez businesses but not this one anymore.

Lunch and drink cost $13. Used to get a small basket of chips complimentary. Now it costs an extra $2.50? Bad idea! Many taquerias in town!‍

We walked into the main area towards the entrance. We were seated promptly and waters were brought out. The menu has a nice variety of foods. I went with a turkey sandwich with a salad. Bf had a mushroom burger & fries. The burgers here are huge and looked hand-pressed (since it was falling apart as being eaten). The turkey was piled on high and tasted very good. I got the cranberry sauce on the side. But it goes well with the sandwich. Our waitress, Vanessa was very attentive and very friendly. Our waters were filled as needed and a manager came by to ask how things were. I'll definitely be back. I want to try out their breakfast menu. There's a lot of parking in the area. The restaurant is popular and doesn't get busy. But if your get a high top table, you can just walk up to it without waiting to be seated (open seating) AC was blasting, so it felt great on a hot day.

My weekday lunch at Jack's proved delightful. My corn chowder soup tasted just right - not too…read moresalty and not heavy. Plus, the soup had some 'bite' which gave it a satisfying texture. My cappuccino however, was far too frothy. My buffalo chicken wrap truly hit the spot with its crispy chicken and non-overly flavorful buffalo sauce. Because the avocado was not smashed to give it that 'guacamole in a burrito texture,' the chipotle mayo spread therefore substituted perfectly as a pairing with the buffalo marinade. The waiter also honored my request for providing bread as a side for the soup and Ranch dressing along with my onion rings. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday afternoon but the ambiance was not overbearing. My last positive feedback concerns Jack's reasonable menu pricing. Jack's menu prices appear above par with its American cuisine competitors including Denny's and the Cheesecake Factory in respect of its food quality.

For his birthday this year, our friend Sarah and I decided to treat him to dinner here on 07/03/2024. Sarah and I arrived simultaneously at 5:30pm. Since the temperature was 105F, we had zero interest in sitting outside. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the staff, and they seated us at a table near the entrance. The interior was cozy, and the vibe was a mix of coffee shop, old school tavern, and neighborhood bistro. Not sure if that's what they were going for, but it definitely worked. Once David arrived, our server came by to take our drink and appetizer order. For appetizer, we shared an order of Four Cheese Garlic Bread. If you like bread and cheese, make sure you get this. Half a dozen slices of perfectly toasted buttered ciabatta bread topped with several types of melted cheese. Very delicious. For entrée, I had the Chicken Parm Pasta, while Sarah and David had the Chopped Cobb and Pollo Provencal respectively. My dish was a good size piece of double battered chicken breast served on top of a bed of garlic pasta and spinach, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheeses. What I liked the most was when you take away the sauce, cheeses, and breading, I could really taste the chicken. I tried a piece of the Pollo Provencal and it was excellent as well. Service we received was exceptional. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Our server checked on us several times during the meal and she took care of our requests with great efficiency. Based on this experience, their high rating is well justified in my opinion. The food, service, and atmosphere are top-notch for a small neighborhood restaurant. I know Martinez is a bit far for some, but it's definitely worth a visit when and if you are in the area. 5 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - Small private parking lot on site. - Split check option available.
