I do not see why they get 3 1/2. They're always polite and go out of the way to make my chimichanga with no meat just about every other day. They make it just the way I like it.They are delicious I prefer the dry chimichanga that way all the flavor comes out that I like. They're very quick and something I always do when I go to a restaurant I look at the Restroom and it's clean here and the store also...I won't eat at a place thats dirty Everything is always clean. I.know that might sound odd but they have a nice clean restroom the store is alway clean I just love the girls here. They are so sweet and always have a smile for you. And the prices are great too. I saw the prices online and was like "instead of them paying a fee to this website, let me order from them direct" - I should have ordered from the website cause it woulda saved me a couple of bucks. We ordered the tortilla soup. It was not a hit. Incredibly salty. I asked for jalapeños on the side and they were not provided. We also ordered chicken burrito and the rice tasted very, very old. Like at or near expiration. I did not eat it because I was scared of waking up with a raging stomach ache. Lastly, we ordered four tacos: two pastor, one carnitas, one barbacoa. So, comparing the quality to another local Mexican spot, this was so-so. Ordered a super B w/carnitas, $12.99. Tasted ok, but the Carnitas was tough and old. The other local spot has a much larger super B. Folks were nice, lots of foot traffic, plenty of parking, but I can't recommend. Do better. Just sayin. Will try again in a month or so. read more

Sorry for bad review. But it happened to me. Got 4 super burritos, missing sour cream, guacamole, cheese. Used to be my monthly favorite burrito place when I crossed the bridge for a doctors visit. So of course it was dry, with meat, rice, beans and sparse salsa. I Spoke to a manager, explained I will not be there for a month. He was specific in me bringing them back, which I can understand if I were close by. However I do not have the refrigerator or freezer space for 4 burritos for a month. it'll be left in a bag to rot? I feel worse losing my burrito joint. No more monthly burrito's from them for my family of 8. We go to this place a lot and I usually have the grilled chicken quesadilla or grilled chicken torta. the grilled chicken is so good! Last night I tried the torta with barbacoa. omg, it was the best tortas I have ever had! The meat is tender, tasty, peppers gave a crunch and kick, a little sauce soaked into the bun but not too soggy. It was so good I'm still thinking if it the next day. I have a new go to order! I keep going back there for the chile verde plate. It's just amazingly delicious. Sometimes I mix it up with the chile verde quesadilla. The flavor is just packed in so well. Used to live much closer but now it's almost a 45 min drive and it's not on the way to anything for me. Heading back tomorrow and the anticipation is very high. I used to love Mariachi and would come here often when I wanted Mexican food. In the past I was always happy with the food and service. The last three or four times I have ordered from here it's become apparent that the quality and consistency have gone downhill. If you order the exact same thing, you will get something totally different each time. I recently ordered a vegetarian super burrito, which is supposed to have rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and salsa. When I cut into the burrito at home, it saw that it literally only had black beans and rice. Not exactly appetizing. The previous time I ordered a veggie super burrito, it primarily had rice and very little of anything else. I don't think I'll be going here anymore, unfortunately. Wimpy burritos! Since it's in my neighborhood I want to love this place so much but they consistently disappoint. Today I picked up a burrito that was so light in the bag walking out that I stopped to take a look at it. It fit in the palm of my hand! Smallest burrito I've ever been served. So I went back to the cashier asking if they had had made a mistake and maybe had given me a kids burrito or something.. He looked at it and said "I don't make up the rules I just work here". Wow. Will never patronize the place again. I say that as someone who has eaten many time at their Walnut Creek Location. I also would normally not leave negative reviews, since these are hard times for small businesses. Having said, that am still furious over the horrible and rude experience I had here. On Tuesday, ordered a half plate of chicken mole, and half plate of Spanish rice from a pleasant young woman for pickup on Thursday for an event. The lady did not know the price for the mole, but said she would call or text me with it. I never ever said I did not want the order. Go to pick it up on Thurday, politely ask for my order, and was told, "we thought you didn't want it, we called and you did not answer" Huh, no text with price, no voicemail? How was I to know they had called?? The order request was right at the counter too. From there it got heated, as the woman was so surly and nasty. She was the owner per her, definitely not the polite sister. She called me a Karen which is in itself incredible since she chose not to make my order, and also rude and ridiculous, since I am Latin (not that is is OK to call anyone a Karen). My husband, kids and I always make it a ritual to come here and eat every Sunday after church. Staff are right there to approach you with what you want to order, very friendly and hospitable. It's a fast cool vibe, food is always on point. Although I wish it was a little more authentic then Americanized. I find that a lot of the Mexican food trucks are more authentic which is sad. We need more Mexican authentic food. Although this is pretty much near my house, very convenient. Plus I like to sit outside on a hot summer day and enjoy good meal. The food is amazing and you get a lot for what you're paying for. Very generous portions, And I just love their salsa and guacamole along with everything else. I usually go with the fish tacos and Mexican rice with a side of beans. But I feel like the beans can use a little bit more seasoning and more herbs added to them. I love shrimp burritos. That's just something I need to clarify out of the gates. I love all burritos ...but shrimp burritos are my thing. They can be hit or miss at most places and if I'm not feeling adventurous with a new place I'll stick to chicken for the first visit. But I was feeling adventurous my first time here so I went for the shrimp burrito strait away. It might have been that they have a menu item called " shrimp burrito" and it had different ingredients than the standard burrito or the super burrito. I took my " shrimp burrito " home and could not stop eating it. It was phenomenal. It's got grilled onions and peppers and a chipotle sauce and it was just magical. I wasn't in the mood for shrimp on one of my many subsequent visits and got a chicken super burrito. It was great. But it wasn't the shrimp burrito and then I was just annoyed with myself for not getting the shrimp burrito. I've also gone in really hungry and ordered the super burrito with shrimp. I watched the cook drop the tortillas into the fryer. I normally would not have ordered a potato taco. The last time I ate here they brought one to me to try. What a surprise! This taco is good; I would never have guessed it would be so tasty. When I eat here again I will have the potato taco and not the beef. At first bite I did not think the hot salsa was hot, then something in it hit my taste buds, I turned bright red--my eyes watered. R got a good laugh and so did I when I caught my breath. I thought that I was ordering a side of beans and rice as it shows on the menu for $2.50, but it turns out it was bean OR rice. The two together were $5. See the picture, not worth the cost. I am not a fan of lettuce and cheese on a soft taco. They should be made street style, or the style that is had at any Mexican party that I have ever attended. Points off for having to clarify that it should not be made that way. Save yourself some time and, most importantly, money and go to Cinco de Mayo. The first is a very nice looking Mother Indian Restaurant, and the other is the more casual Mariachi Mexican Grill. Been going here since they opened in 2013. Always had a good superburrito, and never had a problem with any of the cashiers. A couple of months ago I started seeing a different cashier I hadn't seen before. When I told her I had my own bag, she was rather unpleasant about it and wouldn't bag my food.
