This has been our go to place for some time now, I'm just finally taking the time to give them a review. We normally place a phone order and bring it home, this place is a little too loud for us. Today I ordered pupusas revueltas (chicharrón and cheese) combo. It's 3 pupusas with a side of rice and beans. The pupusas have the perfect amount of masa and cheese. The beans and rice are so much better if you mix them together, the rice is a little bland. My husband had the same combo but his pupusas were with harina de arroz. The only reason I give them 4 stars and not 5 is because they don't have the best service, it's truly a hit or miss. I will not let that interfiere with the amazing pupusas

Great food and service. They are currently offering to go or outside dining. They blocked off a section in front with about 8 tables distanced away from each I ordered 2 papusas, bean and cheese. They were delicious. Not greasy, the beans have great flavor and the salsa was very good. Curtido needed a little oregano, but that is just my taste. My husband ordered soap de frijoles. Another great flavored dish The employees are very friendly and speak English in case you don't speak Spanish. Definitely worth a try. You get big plates and the prices are reasonable.

Best salvadorean food in Bay Area. Their menu is super extensive and pupusas are delicious. Wish they could deliver at home.

Limited choices and slow service. I live in the neighborhood so was hoping it was going to be a regular go to. Maybe comeback for breakfast

It's a food truck parked on the street near the corner of the shopping center nearby. Parking was pretty easy on the street or in the nearby shopping center. Don't expect an area to eat or tables unless you're gonna walk down to the shopping center or take it to go as most people do. The staff was very friendly and full of smiles, and I was able to order with my broken Spanish. Food: I wanted to try a variety of pupusas so got the Revueltas, spinach with cheese, and lorocco with cheese. All were very tasty and I would love to try the rest of the menu as well. My favorite by far is the pupusa Revueltas. This is as close to authentic Salvadoran you can get until you try the local cheeses in El Salvador.

I ordered 4, all different, plus 3 pastor tacos. After I placed the order, he told me it would be about 15 minutes, great sign since it meant they would be freshly made. The pupusas were all $4 each and simply delicious. Loved the flavor of them and the curtido. I sent out a whatsapp to the family to have them all drop by to try these. Far better than most places around here that I've tried.

We were craving for yummy Pupusas so we drive there to San Mateo from San Francisco! We have been here before..and this place NEVER DISAPPOINT! Upon reading other comments on Yelp..it's a hit or miss for some people and I get it! It's your personal opinion..well respected! :) As for my experience today..from going inside to being serviced by two awesome staff there like Saul and Yesenia was very pleasant to us! :)) We appreciated great customer service and it makes a big difference when you're greeted with love and smiles!!! The people who work there are very nice hard workers! Thank you guys!! :)) We noticed a lot of people eating there! It was a pretty full house today which is a great sign for us and for them I'm sure! Saul took our orders! My honey got the Combo 2 Pupusas..one cheese(that one was actually ordered for me for later!) I got the 2 Pupusas..chicken and pork with yummy rice and refried beans!! Both were delicious but the pork was more flavorful to me! Love..love the Cabbage slaw and red sauce! I really glad it wasn't spicy too! Lol!! :} We had our own drinks coz we're trying not to drink too much sodas! Everything was sooo GOOD! It was a perfect meal and being full with happy tummies feels GREAT!!! Overall..try this place..Support this establishment! Especially a family owned restaurant! I'm certain Mr. Oscar Chavez the General Manager their Awesone son Saul will appreciate your kind business!! I've included the business card and our fabulous food we had today! Thank you again! Hope to visit you All soon!!! ;}

I usually order Pozole, but that dish is only during the winter time. So I ordered a cup of tortilla soup! The chicken was fresh and delicious, and the broth was so good I drank it all. The salsa trio is always my favorite appetizer because of the spicy mango salsa! I finish it every time. I also got the Plátanos cubanos, but I got the toppings on the side so I could enjoy their plantains by themselves. As an appetizer, snack, meal, or dessert, plantains are the best. I ordered a side of rice with my steak tacos too, and I have to say this rice is the most similar to the type my mom makes at home. Not too tomatoey, but perfectly moist and tasty. I opted out of getting a cocktail today, so I got a mocktail. I was craving agua de jamaica, which they didn't directly have, but this "zero proof" cocktail hit the spot ;) As for the steak tacos, the steak was a little too chewy for my liking, but that's because I usually get my steak well done (I know, don't judge). Thank you Milagros for always being the best spot for a comforting meal!

The biggest disappointment however was when I looked at my receipt. In addition to taxes and tipping, I was another charged 3.5% for "state mandate." I inquired and was told that since the restaurant has to provide medical insurance, their employees they charge customers for that now. It's just so shady that this is not disclosed ahead of time or at least no obvious and it's only if you look at your receipt, do you see you're being charged this additional fee. Word for the wise it is optional despite the mandatory language on the receipt, so I encourage everyone to refuse to pay. You are not the one employing the employees, the employer is.

The staff are always friendly and attentive. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, with the half chicken as our main course. It comes with two sides, and this time we went with double salad, but the fries and plantains are also great options. The ceviche had wonderful flavor with fresh toppings and delicious house-made plantain chips. The green beans were cooked perfectly, still crisp and topped with garlic and ginger that added great flavor. I've tried all of the empanadas, but this time I went with the veggie truffle mushroom, and it was delicious. The dipping sauce that comes with both the empanadas and the chicken is so yummy! My absolute favorite dish is the truffle mac and cheese. It's rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful without feeling too heavy. The truffle is perfectly balanced and makes it one of the best! My husband and son were still eating when they took my plate and daughters when they were still eating their meal. Usually when people are all finished, then you clear the table. We were outside eating and it was fine. It was rather cold, the waiter could have asked if we wanted the heat lamp turned on. While photos of their SF location suggest some seeing, this OG location is pretty much pickup/delivery only: a fairly literal hole in the wall, located along a random quiet street. Most folks would probably opt to take home or eat at one of the "nearby" parks, but we've gotten in the habit of just eating in the car, which... not so great for something as messy as birria lol. I'll say that for most folks, this would probably easily be more a 4 star spot, while for us, it's more a 2 star since we're unlikely to come back. That's not to say the food was bad: on the contrary, the flavors were quite good, and the consomme was less salty than some of the others we've tried. But their food is HEAVY. Not just the birria itself, but also the burrito we got, and heavier than other places we've been for some reason, with the birria sitting in a pool of oil soon after we picked it up. This probably isn't a deterrent for most people though, so take this as you will. Accessibility: Not too relevant since this is really just a pickup spot, with the pickup window being at the usual height you'd find elsewhere.
