Tried this place for the first time the other night after a recommendation.. all of the food we ate was exceptional.. the calamari was lightly battered and seasoned to perfection.. the clam chowder had large chunks of clam.. the garlic fries were super tasty.. the fish tacos left a little to be desired but when the owner heard she gladly made me another plate that was much more desirable.. this showed me that the restaurant takes pride in the food that they send out of the kitchen.. all of the food was fresh! the ambiance is a home type feel .. it's a small/quaint place but I wouldn't recommend being seated by the door.. our only caveat was the service.. they had one person running the register and one person seating/bussing the tables.. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but but the place is small enough to have one on the register.. one to serve/take orders.. and one to bus the tables.. it took a while to get an order taken, drinks dropped off and silverware once food was delivered to the table.. all in all.. delicious food and we will be back.. maybe for takeout? read more

I went there for the first time ever last night and I ordered the beef Shawarma plate for my boyfriend and when I got back to his house it was actually chicken. So I called them like 10 minutes before they closed and told them what had happened and they told me I could come back to get the right thing. One thing you may not know that I certainly appreciate....is that there are some outdoor tables with umbrellas in front of the restaurant that is dog friendly. Have been wanting to try this new little restaurant for a while now and decided to get take out. I like that there is a selection of mediterranean food on their menu. Had the beef gyro with rice and salad and tried the beef kufteh and grilled vegetables. They use a lot of butter when they cook the rice and vegetables and the food doesn't lack salt, but it is good. Not the meal you want to have if you are dieting, but it's definitely good eats. The portion sizes are huge, one entree would be enough for two people to share. There are still a few items I have yet to try on the menu so I will definitely be coming back. read more

Not only is the food amazing, but Marilyn and her staff will bend over backwards to make you happy... she is so charming and engaging, and passionate about her food! No doubt you will leave satisfied, wanting to come back again. We were fortunate enough to stumble in on a random Saturday night where both kids were out of the house. We ordered a little, and she brought us a ton of food, which could be served at the finest restaurants In Los Angeles. I haven't had too much Mediterranean food save for the fact of Greek food which I have had a good deal. When my wife and I finally decided to come here, I found that I DO like it. I always read other yelps and I would like to say that there is a review from 07/20/2016 from a bonafide food snob who not only insulted this quaint little place but also insulted all of us "Simi-ites" by saying we are "content" with mediocre food. I do not refer myself as a food snob but I love food (as you can see by one of my pictures) and I know good food and bad food. If that person thinks that this food was mediocre or bland she has no palete what-so-ever. But I digress. We were greeted by one of the servers who provided a delightful smile and the other server asked if we had been there before and we told him this was our first time in so he showed us through the menu. I DO somewhat agree with that other review as I saw sashimi and fish and chips but I smiled when I saw that. My wife got the Gyro with beef, salad and rice and I got the Shawarma beef with just rice. The rice was heavenly. It has such great and immence flavor. Both the meat dishes were good with what I could imagine what people eat in the Mediterranean areas eat. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was that I feel it was a little pricey, even though you get a lot of food-just a little too pricey for me. Came here for lunch with a group of friends. There was 6 of us in total and the wait staff and cooks couldn't have been more nicer. Someone in our group suggested this spot and we will definitely be coming back in. The food was delicious! I had the chicken schwarma and the lobster bisque soup. Both were delicious! The garlic fries were also delicious! Not overpowering like other places and just right. We also got the halibut ceviche for $5 and it was extremely good! We all left happy and full and definitely will be adding this place to our list of places to go to lunch. The wait staff is friendly and experienced with just the right touch of interruptions to take you out of the reverie that is their food. Ignore the engaging menu from time to time and venture to their extraordinary selection of seafood. You won't regret the energy the chefs infuse into their cooking. If you have the chance to catch the chef's eye, she will always return a generous smile. Don't leave without ordering the baklava. It's flakey and buttery and messy with a drizzle of honey to put it back together when it falls apart while you're playing with it on your plate. I don't know why some people gave the place a bad review; I personally found the food fresh and very tasty. I had the shrimp scampi and asked Marilyn to make it a little spicy and she delivered; it was perfect! I thought the service was great too. Marilyn took the time to go around and stopped at each table to make sure everyone was pleased with their meal; I liked that. Tried this new spot Sat. night and had a horrible experience. Maybe the fish is good, but we ordered chicken kabob and beef schwarma. Also hummus appetizer which had a sour aftertaste, and seemed to have eggplant in it. I ordered it with no oil on top, and after 25 min. Wait, it came with oil on it - we ate it. Our actual dinners were another 20 min wait, we think they gave our order to someone else. One waiter for the place was not enough. Service is something I could forgive, if the food was great, but it was not. Schwarma was chewey and dry. Kept comparing it to Greek House Cafe, which is much better.
