This review is coming from my girlfriend and I. DIANA: Hands down, Diego is the most amazing tailor! I've gone through many tailors and haven't kept coming back like I do with Diego. I remember the first garment item I brought to him was a white chiffon pleated skirt that needed taken in on the sides by 3 inches. He had it returned PERFECTLY done and chiffon is not an easy fabric to handle! After that, he's gained my trust and I've had blazers, chiffon blouses, vests, jeans, dresses and more skirts all hemmed by him. I swear he is the only tailor I know who can actually sew a STRAIGHT HEM (not sure why that is so difficult for other tailors to grasp). I hate when I can noticeably see a tailor's work...with Diego, I can't even tell that it was altered! I've even personally taken my boyfriend there to get his suits tailored as well. If there is something that isn't altered exactly to what you want, Diego will ALWAYS take care of you with no fuss...just take it back and let him know. He is such a sweet and truly genuine person too...you can't go wrong with that! ANDY: My girlfriend is a wardrobe stylist and has the utmost highest standards of anyone I know. So, when she told me to start taking my wardrobe pieces to her tailor I knew it was going to be amazing and it turned out to be just that. I can't say enough about Diego. His work is phenomenal. His character is so pure and honest. He will never let you down. After your first visit, you will feel at home. Diego is the man, I've had a suit tailored last minute that went from unwearable to amazing. Being short, I never find pants that fit, so if I can find a place that makes them look decent, then I'm happy. Not the case here, I've brought a few pairs of pants to get taken in in the crotch, tapering in the legs, and hem and they come out perfect every time. Even when there are still small things I want to change, Diego makes sure the final product is exactly how I want so I'll keep driving the 30 miles it takes to come here to get my clothes tailored! I got my wedding suit tailored at Nordstrom and it came back baggy and I was screwed. Then came Diego... he fixed it all. He also taught me about tailored shirts and I came back with "ALL" my shirts. Now I rarely wear anything in my closest he has not fixed. Its fast too... go in, try on, and your back at work (or play) in minutes. Takes them about a week to alter. Suits, Jeans, Shirts, anything.... Highly recommended. read more

Really great service and prices. I cannot say enough. Place is clean, and staff is very helpful. I was at a loss when I got a mail ordered Bridesmaid dress that was about 1.5 sizes too big. Had to get it altered fast and tight (mermaid style: so bust and hips/legs, done in two parts). I felt at ease when I saw some of the photos of before and after -- especially the white dress. Was done professionally and quickly for $150. And was on par with the quote I requested from yelp before hand. I will be a repeat customer for sure! read more

Nice place but outrageously expensive. No thanks!! The store itself is currently under remodel but I can tell it will be presentable when complete. The staff is courteous. However, I went through the whole process of getting sized and pinned before I was given a quote. I'm not by any means a cheap person but I was shocked at the price they gave. A simple alteration was going to cost me more than what the garment was even worth. Good luck getting customers to pay those prices. read more

These guys have consistent 5 star reviews for a reason! Brought a dress here to have it taken in at the bust, and I was such a pain in the butt about it. They were so patient with me even though I definitely kept creating work for them! They really just wanted it to be perfect for me. Such pleasant service and treatment every time I came in. Marin Tailor Shop has become my go-to tailor! Alex and Diego provide excellent service and their team turns around garments very quickly. They always make sure that you are satisfied with your alteration and have done adjustments without extra charge if it's not exactly what I had in mind. I've brought everything in from jeans to my wedding dress. They were extremely helpful with my wedding dress, which was a difficult alteration (taking shoulders up, opening arm holes, readjusting waist and bust areas, and taking up the bottom of the dress), and they were on point at every single fitting, offering suggestions that turned out better than what I originally wanted to do. I saw some reviews below that say that Marin's prices are expensive and I have to disagree. I think that their prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other Westside tailors. Marin's tailoring is also high quality and I never worry about bringing in an expensive piece. read more

I needed to get some suit pants hemmed as an unexpected event came up and I needed to get them done quickly but I still wanted a skilled tailor to do the work. I came in and explained my situation and they were extremely understanding and just did the work quickly and with perfect results. I really am impressed not just with the quality but the friendly service. So many times when you ask for something quickly you get push back, eye rolling, large surcharges but at Marin this was NOT the case. They just got it done and I can honestly say I am a customer that is very happy and will return for all my future alterations. It is worth noting that the suit was a high dollar garment and I would not trust it to anyone who was not skilled - the person who helped fit me not only clearly understood what that garment was, they were also VERY in tune with current fashion trends and styles as there are many ways in which you can get a suit altered.
