The technician had no clue what he was doing, spent over an hour on the phone, and barely spoke English, so he didn't even understand the issue. On July 1st we opened the job request as the upstairs air conditioner was not working. THey sent out a technician and he informed me that he had to clean the unit before he could work on it and told me it would be $250 extra. He went into the attic and then charged the unit in the back yard with freon and left as he thought it would be a quick fix. He did not test to see if it was working. We called the company to come back out and this time when he went into the attic, he took pictures and said the whole unit needed to be replaced. We have a home warranty policy and he said we would have to pay $2,000 more than what the insurance would cover. I had to keep calling the company as they did not call me with any updates. They finally called me on September 5th to say that they had the unit and could not install until September 15.th as they did not have any open dates. I am 77 years old and there was no consideration of my not having air for 2.5 months when it was really hot. No apologies were ever made for the wait. On Sept 15th two men came out to install the unit in the back yard and in the attic. They left at 4 pm and said they would be back the next day to finish, but not at 8 am. They would return after 5 pm. The next day the company called to say they could not come on the 16th to finish and would be back after 5 pm on the 17th. I complained again. Then during the day I received a text thanking me for my business and asking for a review. I wrote back the YES, I would write a review and then they called me to say they could come out that night after 5 to finish the job. They came out at 7 pm and left at 7 45 pm and now I have working air conditioning again. Since you have a choice as to who to do business with, I highly recommend that you consider choosing another company that understands customer service and senior citizens. Marina's rep called within one hour and said they could be here today (07/31). At 08:00, Sam arrived and quickly determined the compressor start capacitor to be faulty. Crooks. I have a service contract that referred me to this business. On the service contract it stated I needed a water heater repair. When the receptionist called me to set up an appt I specifically said that my supply water heater is not heating and you guys seem like an AC company the guy was pushy and reassured me that they could repair my water heater. I waited 3 days with no hot water for an appt all for them to come out and say that they don't do water heaters. On top of that they lied on the request order and charged the service to "forced air heating" and fraudulently billed my contract. When my Home Warranty company assigned Marina to service my 4 ton AC unit I was apprehensive due to some bad reviews . I was pleasantly surprised that a technician was assigned within 24 hours and doubly impressed when Alex quickly diagnosed the issue ( low refrigerant) , topped off the reservoir , tested the AC's temperature output and was gone within 30 minutes. Now that's what I call efficiency. Do bad service calls happen? Of course they do, life is not perfect. Our central a/c wasn't blowing out cool air. The unit would come on but I noticed the thermostat temperature wasn't going down and it felt like regular air was coming out, no cool air. The next day the a/c motor wouldn't come on. I made a claim through our hone warranty company and they sent out Marina. Our appt was a few days later between 8am-12pm. Sam showed up at 7:45am. It was awesome that we were the first on his list and that he was early! He was very friendly and immediately jumped into assessing what the issue was with the unit. He spent about less than 20 minutes on the patio working on the unit and he got it to turn on and,, after replacing a part, the cool air started coming out again. Sam explained what he did and showed us the part he replaced (I can't remember the name of it). This made a great start to the weekend. Plus, after 5 days with no a/c, we were so relieved. Home warranty chose this contractor to service my furnace issue. The technician arrive and perform very little inspection on the actual issue. He omit key details from the report file to warranty service and conclude that the root cause to be something else which is conveniently not covered by the warranty service. Other contractors that I hired doesn't agree with this result but due to his inaccurate report, warranty will denies my claim. I said let me turn on and off the AC and you can hear the issue and he said no. It's fine. You can write down the issue on the assessment sheet and your home warranty can look at it. He refused to fix the issue. When he left the sound was even worse. I called the home warranty and complained and they sent me another company. Platinum Repair Incorporated. He came. Went to the attic and took a look. Said it looks like someone loosened the screw. He was up there for 15-30 minutes. Came back. All fixed. We had a home warranty purchased by the seller, which included an HVAC tune-up. Each service under the warranty required an $85 copay. We contacted the home warranty company to request the HVAC tune-up and paid the $85 fee. A technician from Marina Heating and Air Conditioning came to our home. He briefly inspected the thermostat and checked the air filter, then advised us to purchase and replace it ourselves. Next, he went to the HVAC unit with a multimeter and claimed he was verifying that the AC unit was functioning properly (which we already knew). Essentially, all he did was test the electrical connections and check the freon level. He didn't perform any actual maintenance or cleaning--just confirmed that the unit was operational. We asked him to perform the tune-up on the heating unit (furnace) as well, but he refused. Despite our insistence that the home warranty covered tune-ups for both the heating and air conditioning systems, he contacted his manager and continued to refuse, speaking with a heavy Russian accent. Later, we found out that Home Depot offers tune-ups for both the AC and heating unit for just $65. In the end, we paid for the home warranty, and an additional $85, only to be told that our AC unit was working--something we already knew! The service was terrible, and the technician was extremely rude. He only inspected half of the HVAC system and even insisted on taking a different path to the unit than the one we suggested, as if he was in charge of our home. The whole experience felt like a complete rip-off. They didn't even replace the air filter, just told us to do it ourselves. My AC doesn't blow cold air recently and I checked thermostat settings and changed air filters, but no luck. I felt lucky that I have home warranty (First American, FA) and my contract seemingly comprehensively covers AC repair. I then submitted a service request through FA by paying $85 service fee. FA then assigned this company for my AC repair and I checked them over the Internet and read many negative reviews. I believed that it will not be the case for me, but unfortunately, it was. The company reached out to me very promptly (I liked it since broken AC is pain during the summer) and the technician arrived on time. I asked him the issue, and he tried to fix (or do something) on the outdoor AC unit (he didn't check inside at all). I knew that this outdoor unit makes loud noise when AC is on, and I shared this information with the technician. After few minutes later, I politely asked him, "what's going on?", and he said, "bad". He then asked me how many thermostats I have and I answered *two*. After that, He said he will submit a report to FA and they will reach out to me about the next step. No updates for the next few days, and I called FA. I realized that the technician's report states that he couldn't figure out any mechanical issues and the root cause was probably because I have *zone-control* AC system, which is *not covered* by my home warranty contract. I have no knowledge of AC system, so I might be wrong, but I guess the issue is not about zone-control, but some AC components making cold air. Yes, I have two thermostats (considered zone-control), but I can fully control air flow for two zones without issues. I just don't get cold air. Even if this was incorrect, I think the technician should give me explanations after correctly inspecting the issue. In this way, I can decide how to repair my AC and I'm willing to pay $85 for this. But, I did not get that. Now, I'm asking FA to cancel my service request and refund the service request fee. I think FA (or other home warranty companies) should listen to what their customers say about this company. It is hard to believe the following FA's statement is true: We will send a local technician from our network of thousands of independent service providers who are pre-screened and monitored for performance through customer satisfaction surveys. read more

I had an appointment with this company through my home warranty. I needed my air conditioner inspected. I had it inspected by two other companies and they said that I needed a whole new system. Sam from Marina came in to inspect the unit, went on the roof and located the unit. All the other companies told me that my unit was in a place it wasn't, pretended to inspect it and told me I needed a whole new system. Sam informed me that they were looking at the water heaters on the roof. Sam went to a higher part of the roof and located the unit for my Condo. In less than 15 minutes Sam had the system running cold. I am in shock at how wonderfully professional and dedicated to his work Sam is. Had a 1pm-5pm window on day of service. The tech, TIm, came around 2:30pm. Had adequate text alerts when he was on his way. Like many other people have already said, 0 stars should be given to this company. Unfortunately, it seems like many people are sent Marina Heating by their home warranty, which was the same in my case (Fidelity National Home Warranty, which is also garbage). Avoid this company at all cost, and if your home warranty sends them, tell them to send someone else because they will either 1) break your stuff or 2 (if youre lucky) not fix the issue. Their number is 855-354-1793, in case you see this pop up. Read below if you have a minute and want to laugh at my expense! First run-in with Marina: Fidelity sent out Alex from Marina March of 2021 to come take a look at why my AC would sometimes pump cold air, and other times not. Alex determined that the Freon was low, and decided to pump so more, and that was it. Again, the unit would work here and there, and sometimes it wouldn't. I didn't use my AC too much, but this past week with it being very hot, my AC was not working. I had already cancelled my home warranty because they kept sending garbage companies to come out and basically deny my claim. So I called a reputable technician to come out and take a look at my system and wouldn't you know, my system has been overpressurized, causing the compressor to fail. I tried to get in contact with Marina in hopes that they would have a decent warranty (I know, I should have known better!) to come fix the problem they created. Low and behold, their warranty is only good for 30 days! Many other actual reputable companies will do at least a year, if not lifetime. So they said they can send a technician out to take a look for $65 dollar, which of course I would never actually pay to get their garbage technicians to come "service" my HVAC. Second run-in with Marina: I was getting ceiling lights installed in my house back in August of 2021, when the workers mentioned that there was cold air blowing out of my ceiling, indicating a vent/duct leak. I called Fidelity National Home Warranty to get a technician to come take a look. To my luck, they sent out Alex from Marina again! Alex came to my house around 7:30am, put his hand by the ceiling and said that's normal for there to be cold air...Mind you, when the workers were putting up my lights, it was a 90* day, meaning the attic must be in the 100s. Alex did ask to go see my furnace...WHICH WAS NOT EVEN ON THE SAME LEVEL AS WHERE THE AIR WAS LEAKING FROM! He proceeds to say that everything is normal and leaves. Obviously suspicious, I called 3 other companies that are actually reputable and know what they are doing, and all of them said they would have gotten up into the attic to verify. So my lady insisted on going up into the attic, since she's smaller and loves working with her hands, and find a duct, near where the leak was, completely disconnected from the vent, which was definitely NOT "normal". In summary, Marina Heating is HOT garbage and should definitely be revoked their license because they have no idea what they are doing, and should be dropped from home warranties. read more

Long story short, this company doesn't want to work, they want to collect the service charge and leave. Tim came to my house and brought his crappy attitude. I crawled under the house with him to show him the issue, he asked me why don't I get some tape and fix it myself. Horrible business model and customer service. I told him to leave and called my rep at fidelity, and they are making sure no more referrals will go to them for warranty repairs. If I could rate zero stars, I would. They were sent to us via our home warranty service to fix our HVAC that wasn't pushing out cool air anymore. The guy arrived in the scheduled time window and asked what was wrong. I explained that it was just blasting room temperature air at us. He looked at the unit for about a minute and replaced the capacitor, then told me it was fixed. I wanted to turn it on and test it out, but he said it should be fine, handed me paperwork and ran off. Sure enough, not fixed. I scheduled another visit. Same guy came back out and said it's probably our air filters and suggested they get changed out. His reasoning was that if they are clogged, that would prevent the AC from cooling. I would agree, except clogged filters would restrict air flow. The problem wasn't that it wasn't pushing any air, the problem is that the air it was pushing out wasn't cold. He insisted that was the problem however and kept ranting on about how the AC was still pretty new as if new things can't break down. In any event, he couldn't be bothered to look at the unit for more than a couple minutes. I also wanted to remove the filters (which would remove what he insisted was the problem) and turn on the AC so he could feel/see for himself, but he was adamant that he's done. I was removing the filters and asked my wife to talk to him as I was doing so, but he seemed disinterested in talking to my wife and insisted he talk to me instead. Not sure why he couldn't just speak to my wife while I was attempting to fix the problem. She did get misogynistic vibes from him. All that being said, problem was never fixed. He left in a hurry. All these exchanges took maybe 20 minutes tops. Your home warranty service sends this company to you because they don't fix the problem and therefore don't need to pay for anything. Save yourself the headache and go with another company. And if you aren't going through home insurance, absolutely skip this company. You'll pay for them to come out and not fix anything. read more

He claimed he couldn't service this even though I read other reviews and they replaced an AC unit on the rooftop of another client for a different home warranty company. He then took my $60 fee for coming out based on HWA I believe. As I don't understand walking from his car to my place and charged me a fee for not doing anything.
