At long last...a nail salon that always delivers the absolute best. I will go nowhere else...they are that good. MICHAEL has done my nails a handful of times and I can't sing his praises loud enough. I get the SNS manicure, which I recently converted to from gel after my first visit at the salon, and I absolutely love my nails every time. I work with my hands and even with a gel manicure, they end up chipping after about a week and a half. Not so with the SNS manicure from Marina Nails and Spa. I was pleasantly surprised that after 4 weeks, not one chip! The entire staff is friendly and competent and the atmosphere is lovely as well. This is my second time here and this place is pretty awesome. I came in expecting to have to wait in line since it's the weekend, but there was none! There are always people here to work with you and they don't rush your service unlike some other places do. I just got the basic pedicure with callus remover and a gel manicure coming out to $50, which isn't that bad in comparison to other "high quality" places I've been to. Nina worked on my pedicure and Suzie worked on my manicure and they were great! They both took their time making sure that they got all the gunk out of nails and made them look pretty. I heard minimal native language speaking around me, and that's always good. I definitely recommend coming here whenever you get the chance. Top quality is what I was looking for, and I got it! What really stood out to me about this place is the fact that the owner of the store goes around and takes the time to talk to you when she can. Talk about feeling welcomed! In addition there are a variety of different nail color selections that I personally thought was unique compared to other stores. It's also really nice and different that they offer a stamp card! I have been to this salon twice and plan on making this place my GO TO, REGULAR Salon forever!!! I was first made aware of Marina Nail & Spa because my best friend goes here and she told me they had this new powder thing with lots of colors!!! I had been used to getting gel nails before this. My friend wasn't kidding. The SNS (dip powder) nails are so amazing and I plan on getting SNS manicures for the rest of my life! Also, they have SOOOO many colors! There is no shortage of options and the front desk manager, Saeid, is amazing and super helpful and all of the technicians I've met thus far are kind, friendly, and professional! They all do an amazing job and I am left with the most beautiful, strong, gorgeous manicure and pedicure every time! I pay $60 for my SNS manicure + regular pedicure and I think that is a great deal. I have paid more for gel nails before and they don't last as long. I can rock my SNS Manicure for 2-3 weeks and even with the grow out they still look great! I'm just SO happy I discovered this place!!! The Salon is beautiful, clean, and well managed. There is easy parking and a clean restroom. If you would like the best, most efficient service I would suggest calling and making an appointment. The salon doesn't have a multitude of technicians (I don't mind it- it is never crowded. I've lived on the Westside for four years now and have been coming here (and only here) that whole time. I don't get my nails done very often, but when I do this is the only place I go. All the nail technicians are incredibly nice and very good at what they do. The owners are usually there to offer you a coffee, water, or chocolates. This place is pretty ok. Mary did my mom's nails and I forget who did my nails. The service is good and I like the salon itself it's beautiful inside. Parking is a plus..However I've noticed that my gel manicure started chipping two days after I got it done. I work with my hands so that's why I get gel. Usually my gel lasts 3 weeks. But thinking that it would stay longer than that was probably more than I expected. Plus the woman who did my nails had filed my nails down so low after me taking 3 weeks to grow them into a square round shape when I specifically emphasized that I wanted REALLY square nails. For some reason she couldn't really understand what a square shape meant. Low key if I'm paying $50 I would expect you to know that Lol. I probably will not be going back. But my mom went there for a full set and she loved it..maybe she will go back. I'm still on the search for a place that's not too far from my house. Better luck next time! read more

I hate to admit it, but I am totally WRONG, especially after having written such a glowing review of Marina Nail Spa. On my last trip to the spa I was receiving a pedicure from Mary; her work had always been really good, with a lot of attention to detail. Mary did mention that she was extremely pleased at the very nice and lengthy review I had done of her and the spa. While sitting in the chair I noticed a hair from my eyebrow that was long enough to slightly hang down into my field of vision and mentioned this to Mary. Upon the completion of my pedicure she asked me to follow her to a back room, telling me that she had some tweezers and would remove it for me. I thought it was a very kind gesture for her to perform the minor task of removing that hair, which only took less than 20 seconds. When I was at the front desk paying my bill I noticed that Mary had tacked on a very substantial fee for that extra 20 seconds of work; I was somewhat shocked and dismayed at adding this extra charge without previously informing me prior to the work. Many times at these spas while getting a manicure they might ask if they can put some oil on my hand. I have come to learn that one has to be extremely careful because if I were to say yes there will be an extra charge that I will only find out about when paying the bill. The workers never indicate that there is an additional charge and the problem is made worse due to the fact that most of the manicurists are not totally conversant in The English Language. Can you imagine going into a restaurant and the waiter ask if you would like water and extra napkins, only to find out later that he has added those as "Extra Charges" to the final restaurant bill. I have contacted several of the regulatory entities and suggested that the Nail Spas be required to print a list of services and extra services, including pricing and have a disclaimer on the front of the price sheet detailing what in included in the service and what is not included. The list would be provided to the customer as they sat in the chair and prior to any services being performed. This would assist in the language barrier problem, preclude any miscommunication and provide a better customer experience. read more

My daughter and I decided to get mani/pedis for my birthday. I'm always so nervous because I rarely get pedis and always do my own manis... Just never really found the "perfect" place. We booked our appointment thru Yelp and Marina Nails responded in less than 2 minutes. Parking was free and there was plenty of spots in the lot. There was a parking lot attendant station but we never saw him/her. We both decided on getting SNS for the first time. I've never been a fan of gel because it makes nails brittle and thin. We are so happy with the look and feel with SNS. $35 additional, only time will tell if it was worth it or not. Mary was sweet and fun! The whole crew made us feel welcome and at home. She doesn't rush you, makes sure you love your color and that your nails are done properly. She is even patient enough to go along with my nail art ideas :). The nail techs do a great job, when they are working there - I've never seen so much turnover at a nail salon. Also, be prepared to know which color you want upon arrival, because the male manager will otherwise yell at you if you ask to see the color wheel. I needed a last minute gel manicure and regular pedicure - I was ecstatic that they replied to my yelp message immediately and gave me an appointment for the time I requested. I love that they have their own parking lot, and its free. I was seen right away. They offered me coffee, water, even wine which was a nice perk. Ha did my nails just the way I wanted and did a great job. They offer lots of additions like sparkles or nail art but I'm not really into that stuff. I like that they use LED gel lights instead of UV. I was done in about 45 minutes! Cost was $48, which is pretty standard. They have a points reward system too. My long-time cosmetologist moved to this location some months ago. As usual, she provided me with EXCELLENT service; and, as I have a hectic schedule, she is always very accommodating. Therefore, please note, my rating is for the services at this spa and not necessarily for the services performed by my cosmetologist. She deserves 5 stars. I've made certain observations that have led me to believe the back-office is not run well. And, these observations led me to keep my transactions between my cosmetologist and myself, as much as possible. The atmosphere is pleasant enough, so long as you don't look too closely. As of this date, my cosmetologist has moved on. As have I. For future reference, readers should note the response from the proprietor below. It proves my point regarding less-than-stellar back-office functions. The response reeks of unprofessional-ism. In fact, the cosmetologist in question left this spa voluntarily with four (4) others within two (2) weeks of the incident described. She has performed several pedicures for me over the years (as well as other services), and all without any ill-effects. read more
