Not sure why it was necessary for your truck to drive over 85 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour zone from Purcellville, VA to get on the toll road 267 towards Dulles at 5:45pm on Wednesday, July 1st. I certainly hope someone was not in the hospital or hurt, but there is no excuse for the running up on the bumpers of the cars in the left lane, slamming to the right lane to accelerate and cut the car off in the left lane to then do it again 3 or 4 minutes later. I hope you have GPS trackers or cameras in the vehicle see for your yourself, but I can definitely say that Marines Plumbing left a definite impression on me by their actions on the road, and it was not positive. Steven was personable explained everything and resolved our issue. We had a slow draining kitchen sink. He explained a few options. We opted for the hydro jetting based on the fact that this has been a recurring issue for this drain. Although it was more expensive, seeing what came out of the drain and the before and after pictures, it's clear that just snaking the pipe wouldn't have worked. James King and another gentleman have worked on the plumbing on my property and have gone above and beyond to make sure various issues in my 60 year old house are resolved. James Jordan and one of his colleagues from the electrical division expertly installed a brand new electrical panel for us (and handled the inspection with the county) and brand new recessed lighting, as well as trouble shooting basics like outlets and light switches. My most recent experience with Marines Plumbing on 16 Feb 2024 was mixed at best. While Marines did a good job on a water heater expansion tank/drain pan installation and on a gas leak test/stove line cap I'm disappointed with the lack of thoroughness on the basement drain work that was done that day. My understanding was that if I had the sewer drain snaked and then scoped with a camera that I would be eligible for a warranty on that work. However, when I called Marines just after the camera scope was done I was told I'd receive nothing more than a seven day warranty. This was a disappointment given the cost of the work received. Additionally, given the high cost of the camera scope (approximately $459 for 15 min. of work) I assumed I would at least receive some type of brief write-up/e-mail of what the scope found. Unfortunately, all I received from the scope was an estimate for a very expensive future drain dig-out removal and replacement. While a dig-out/replacement might be needed, I think the customer is probably owed some type of professional write-up of why these this kind of repair is necessary given the high cost of the scope and dig-out/replacement. We had water leak at the basement ceiling, I called them based upon good reviews online and being veteran owned , ended up paying $262 for diagnosis which is "We don't know where the leakage is coming from, keep monitoring" and a hole in my ceiling I can understand not being able to find the source but charging that money for showing up is absurd and doesn't help in in any way. Make yourself a favor and call one of the companies that can diagnose for $49, never calling Marines again. read more

I was given a quote for a kitchen faucet repair in February and agreed to get the work done once the parts arrived. When the faucet was installedI paid the bill. Later that day i remembered I was quoted a lower price. I called the company and the owner spoke with me directly later that day. He said he would refund the difference when he reconciled the invoice. It's now April and I have called their offices three times to follow up. No response. Do not use this company. We woke up to a homeowner's nightmare the morning we were supposed to leave for vacation - a pipe burst in our basement and the ceiling was leaking! We called our home warranty company but the earliest they could send a contractor was at least 48 hours later. We luckily searched Yelp and came across the highly rated Marines Plumbing. They were able to send someone within a few hours (we called around 7am). Shawn was our Christmas miracle! He was professional and explained every step of the repair process before he started. He was correct in his time estimate that the pipe repair wouldn't take longer than an hour. He even sent us a thank you postcard a couple weeks afterwards! We called Marines Service to come out and give an estimate on our bad plumbing due to having several clogs in the pipes recently. Turns out we needed a repipe due to a bad slope of the drainage pipes and thus not carrying the sewage all the way out. I hired them pretty much on the spot as I could tell they were very knowledgeable and professional. Patrick Moore and team of the Marines Service Co. worked on the repiping for several days but now that the work is complete, I can rest assured no more leaks and everything was done to code! I even put in a last minute request to the plumber, Patrick , to inspect and correct the plumbing under the kitchen sink due to a leak and to also replace a worn out garbage disposal. My only problem with Marines Plumbing is they charged me over $800 to replace a shower valve and about an hour labor. The Reason? My zipcode, plus a flat rate pricing system now used by the majority of plumbers. I kid you not, the same work would have cost around $500 in a lower-income neighboring county. To top it off, when I got my bill I also saw they tacked on around 3% credit card processing fee, adding an extra $26 to my cost without ever telling me. Yes, they do good work but they take their clients to the cleaners... Doubt I will use them again. read more

Jason was here to assess our plumbing problem. He determined it to be structural, and patched it to the best of his ability so it was operable. He recommended I contact their tile/construction department-so I did. David Smith, Sr and David Smith Jr arrived. They worked from 0800 until 1500 hours to fix the shower grout and stain on the lower level ceiling. Amazing!! They were very careful to do a quality and detailed job.
