Yesterday a service technician, Chris, came to understand why heat was not reaching into the primary bedroom in the corner of the house. He worked diligently to solve the problem. He even offered to get a suit on specialized for going into crawl spaces but I said it was not necessary. He made a vast improvement in the her flow to the room and I am so happy. This is the second year I'm under contract with Westmore for auto-delivery of heating oil. I left…read moremy prior provider, Robison, because Westmore's rates were much more competitive. My review is based on the fact that I am set up for auto delivery with Westmore, and recently, they failed to auto deliver heating oil in time. My thermostat the last cycle was set no differently than usual. While the temperatures some days last month were extremely cold, Westmore should take that into account when determining when customers' tanks need re-filling. Most importantly, in the four years I was under contract with Robison for automatic delivery, they never missed a delivery. To Westmore's credit, once I notified a customer service agent that I was without heat, a technician came two hours later and provided me with 15 gallons of heating oil - enough to get me through until a truck came to fill the tanks the next day. But it wasn't that simple. Because Westmore allowed the tanks to run dry, the technician had to bleed the boiler before it could start up again. All of this occurred at 8:30 pm, I had to let the technician in to service the boiler, show him where the tanks were, etc. Was it the biggest ordeal ever? Obviously, not. But it was still an ordeal, an inconvenience and frustrating given how easily avoidable the situation should have been. When I'm under contract, for which I am paying fees for automatic delivery in the first place, it should never happen at all. Perhaps instead of using an algorithm for calculating heat usage, which obviously was not accurate, they should utilize a Wifi-equipped tank monitor, as Robison would, so that they can be certain when customers' tanks, such as my own, need to be refilled. I called the next day (prompted, in part, by the fact that I received an invoice for the 15 gallons of heating oil that they provided at 8:30 pm, which just seemed to be in bad taste given what had occurred), and I was informed that they have adjusted the algorithm they use to estimate my usage of heating oil. I appreciate the attention they gave, but it's disappointing it happened at all (again, I never had this experience in four years previously with Robison). I am hopeful that this is a one-off incident.

Do not consider Westfair for any of your water softening or plumbing needs at all. We have a…read moreKinetico water softener and they are the authorized repair company in our area. We called them because the water softener was spewing so much salt into the water that it was burning or eyes and skin even after backwashing. It was even causing welts on my little granddaughters skin after bathing her. They sent someone to fix it who claimed it was because of manganese in our water, and then tried to sell us another upgraded unit when this one is still under warranty, and can still be serviced. We had the unit for over 5 years and was never told by anyone that manganese was present when the other company handling the repairs, Water Source, was handling the yearly maintenance. Since Water Source no longer handles Kinetico, we were given Westfair to handle the maintenance not by choice. After the Westfair gentleman left, the unit no longer goes into backwash, and we have to manually turn a screw to allow it to do the backwashes. When we do, the whole water supply to the house shuts down and we have no water. We have to resort to unsoftened water at that point, which is majorly hard and drying to our skin, then when we turn it back on after the manual backwash, it is full of salt again. We called Westfair back, and now, they refuse to come back because they said we didnt purchase the unit from them so we are put onto the back burner to their purchasing customers. Frank, the owner, is nasty and curt and should not be in business since he does not know a thing about treating customers kindly in difficult situations such as this. If it wasn't for their maintenance person, we would not be in the predicament we are in right now, yet they will not address the problem. We tried reaching Kinetico and spoke to a Jesse who told us that they love Westfair, and have never had any problems with them. I guess they do not value their customers or honor their warranties. Now we are forced to replace the whole unit, and it was a very very expensive unit that we saved a long time for. Do yourself a favor, do not use this company, nor Kinetico, for any of your water softening or plumbing needs! Their products and services are unreliable.

We were very please with the job Piro Paving did on our driveway this fall. It is a very difficult…read morejob because it is sharply curved and is on a steep hill; it requires special attention for drainage to keep water out of our house. Not only does the finished product look great. with the beautiful Belgian block edging, it drained perfectly during the recent storm. We were impressed with Frank, the owner, when he came out to estimate the job. Unlike the other companies, he immediately saw the drainage issues and discussed how to address them. His price was right in the middle of the estimates we received, so we know it was fair. Communication during the project was also very good. He called several times to keep us apprised of timing. Frank himself was on the job himself for the paving to make sure it was done right. And, he came back to walk the driveway with us after the asphalt had set to be sure we were happy with everything. I strongly recommend Piro Paving, especially if you have anything other than a simple project.

So on Wednesday, Mr. Pirro showed up of course to get money and tells me,all of a sudden on Friday he can't come to pave because they now have scheduled some parking lot to be paved. What about my driveway that was scheduled? So now I feel that I'm really not that important to them. So now it's Friday and I have a voicemail from Paula, Mr Pirros wife, telling me, that the pavers are on their way over, and to pull the cars out of the driveway and open up your garage door. So I pulled the cars out of the driveway and left her a message saying that I got her phone message and thank you for calling. All of a sudden she's at my front door ringing the doorbell in this panic and I answered the door and she's like I called and I wanna make sure you got the message. You gotta open the garage door and I said as soon as I see them in my driveway, I will open up the garage door, but I did move the cars out. She's like oh OK. I wanna make sure you got the message. I said I did thank you. Well, now it has been over two hours and they still have not shown up to pave my driveway. I am so fed up with this company with all of their back-and-forth. They have no friggin idea what is going on. They're on the ball when it comes to collecting money though that's for sure. So here I am rescheduling my whole life for them and they could give two frigging craps. I am so fed up with them. They're coming or no we're not coming, do this, or no never mind, schedule it, don't show up, or, oh we scheduled something else. Im just so fed up!!!!!!!!!!
