    Ceviche

I enjoy this restaurant, maybe more than I should. The food is good, the service is good, and the ambiance is good. The grilled shrimp plate is the plate to get here. Nice huge shrimps that are grilled to near perfection. Oh, the shrimp ceviche is also really good! If you're craving some authentic Mexican flavor, this place will do, but it's not a place to drive far to get to. It's a place to eat at if you're nearby.

The service here is what really won me over. Everyone was so kind and it felt like family here. The food is comforting and focused on seafood. I really enjoyed their Shrimp Ceviche as it was fresh and tangy with a kick of spice. Definitely good to get a seafood platter to share. It comes with a variety including some fish. The also made it special by celebrating with an hearty flan that was nice and eggy too! The inside has a fun and playful seafood mural as well. It's a no frills space serving up comforting Mexican style seafood!

I was greeted immediately upon entry and the waitress was very patient as I asked several questions about the menu. I was a bit leary because I've been going to the same seafood restaurants. Since I was a little girl. There was this was the first time I went to a different Mariscos and I was very impressed. I will go back very soon.

The waitress was very nice, staff attentive and super friendly atmosphere. Food was delicious, big portions, 2 could share an entree. Will definitely be back and suggest to others.

Honestly I am so disappointed by this place, but I gave them 3 stars because of the waitress and the guacamole was good! I ordered the fajitas which were so disappointing! They added mushrooms which I am allergic to! Second the tilapia had no meat on it and the food was not fresh! As we were eating we noticed the chef opened up a freezer across from us and boom all the frozen seafood was taken out including the oysters! You should just go there for the chips and guacamole!

I have been eating at this place for years And recently the quality of the food has been slowly getting worse and today after picking up my order and getting home we opened the plate and found hair in our food. Never eating at this place again.

Service was great, the food was very fresh and well made. I ordered fish soup and it was really good. The waiter Giselle was very attentive and got our order right. There were 12 people in my group. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Finished all my food and Micheladas ,sorry lol

Do they have their own parking lot?

There is a small parking lot but it's shared with two other small businesses. We had no problems parking on a Friday night.

Somebody knows if they have camarones a la diabla?

Yes they do, my wife ordered that when we ate there this past weekend.

We ended up getting the pollo asado, the carne apache, and taco de pulpo. The sauce for the pollo asado was addictive and the way they seasoned those fries... You'd wish they were endless. I definitely want to go back to try out some of their other dishes. It was pretty loud but the place isn't so big and it was pacckkkeddd on a Friday night at 9 pm. Just a heads up, the valet closes at 10 so you need to get your keys if you plan on staying late. I think street parking is better if you're lucky enough to find a spot.

If you grew up in LA like I did, this was definitely THE spot...and honestly, it still is. The interior is packed with old school charm: dim lighting, warm red and yellow accents, cozy booths, and a dining room that's instantly recognizable. But don't sleep on the outdoor patio either. It's absolutely beautiful, complete with its own bar and plenty of seating for those perfect evenings out. Casa Vega is famous for its margaritas and classic Mexican American comfort food. It's not outright authentic, but it's nostalgic and hasn't changed for decades. During my last visit, I kept it simple with a cheese enchilada, a perfectly medium rare cooked steak taco, and spicy beans and rice. While each item was simple, it was done perfectly. Definitely get the combination so you can try a little bit of everything. Like I said earlier, For me Casa Vega is all about nostalgia. The familiar flavors, the atmosphere, and those feel good vibes that keep people coming back year after year. It's a staple because we all grew up with it so if you're someone here dining for the first time, keep that in mind. Last pro tip: there is $10 valet parking which honestly saves you from trying to find parking on the main boulevard so I would say just go with it.

Casa Vega has been on my "legendary" list for a long time. After finally visiting, I'd say it was…read moremore of a one-time experience for me. Let's start with logistics: parking is valet only unless you manage to find street parking on very busy Ventura Blvd. When we arrived, we stood waiting for a bit without being acknowledged. When the hostess came over, there wasn't even a simple "hello," just "How many?" and "Do you have a reservation?" It's a small detail, but hospitality starts with a greeting. The ambience is undeniably cool -- dark, classic, very old-school LA. It has character. Food-wise, it was inconsistent. The albondigas soup leaned salty -- maybe it had reduced over time, maybe just my taste preference. The fajitas were actually the opposite: pretty bland. On the plus side, they weren't overcooked, which is common at many places. The cuts were large, not overloaded with onions (which I appreciated), but also not much chicken. The guacamole had a slight sour note. Not terrible, but enough to question how fresh it was. Our server, however, was great. Attentive, professional, and the highlight of the experience. The menu font is quite small, which makes it difficult to read in the dim lighting. And the payment terminal comes with a tip percentage already selected -- that always feels a bit uncomfortable. I'm glad I checked it off my list, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return or recommend it strongly. It feels like Casa Vega survives mostly on nostalgia and reputation rather than today's execution.

A Completely Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish I…read morecan't say a single good thing about this place. If I hadn't already asked my cousin's family to meet us here for an early dinner, we never would have stayed. Arrival & Service: Ignored at the Door: We walked in at 3:00 PM to a completely empty restaurant and still had to wait 10 minutes just to be acknowledged. We didn't even get an apology for the wait. Awkward Seating: Despite having the entire empty dining room to choose from, they sat our party of eight smack-dab in the middle of the floor. Zero Attentiveness: Even though it was completely dead, the staff never checked on us for water refills, extra chips, or anything else. Safety Hazards & Ignored Spills: The Floor Was a Mess: My son accidentally spilled his ice water all over the table and floor. A server brought us a single napkin and never returned to actually mop up the puddle. The Waitress Spilled on Us: When the food finally arrived, our waitress knocked my cousin's water directly onto him. She didn't apologize at all, handed over one dingy towel and some paper, and--once again--left the floor completely wet. Disgusting Bathrooms: My wife took our daughters to the women's restroom and said it was filthy. My cousin joked about the men's room floor being wet, but it was no joke. The floor was covered in water and dangerously slippery like ice (even while wearing Jordans). How does a restaurant let their bathrooms get this bad? The Food Underwhelming: The food was incredibly mediocre. The fajitas were supposed to be "sizzling," but they arrived dry and lifeless. Experiences like this are exactly why we rarely eat out. Sneaky Billing Practices Hidden Gratuity: When the bill arrived, I was getting ready to leave a cash tip. Thankfully, my wife checked the itemized receipt and noticed they had already tacked on an automatic tip of about $30! I almost double-tipped them. Random Fees: They also added an unexplained $7 fee that we couldn't figure out. Bottom Line: This place is an awful Mexican restaurant. By all means, go check it out for yourself if you don't believe me, but consider yourself warned. We will definitely never be returning!
