The complimentary chips and salsa arrived quickly after we were sat down, but a solid 10-15 minutes went by without anyone even taking a drink order. The food portions are quite large considering what is being charged. We ordered a dozen oysters, a campechana, and camarones a la diabla, comfort food on a hot day. We ordered a michelada and I forgot the name of the other drink that comes in a clay looking pot. Food and drink quality is acceptable. It was a little hard getting the check when we wanted to leave. I was here on 03/29 with a party of 7 and Yolanda our server did an amazing job tending to us! She had the best customer service I have ever received from a restaurant, and the rest of the people whom I came with thought the same. From beginning to end she was attentive, prompt with our orders, and very professional. I went with the boys from work. We wanted oysters and beers. The waiter was friendly but very pushy on buying these specific shrimps that we didn't want it. It was a little suspicious at first. We get the oysters and beers. My friend said he was full so I ate about 5 oysters. We leave and I started feeling nauseous and fever like chills. After a brutal 3 days I was feeling severe pain on my abdomen and bloating. I had to go to the hospital the next day and turns out I had bacteria in my stomach from something I ate. This was my last meal before these symptoms. My friend also became sick and notified me at work. Lol Seviche tostadas on par good, nothing to write home about but worth it and would order again. The shrimp and octopus cocktail also pretty typical all veggies very finely chopped so the meats stand out. It would be nice if they had some real picante habanero sauce etc some of us eat this stuff Yucatán style. So you get the topical assortment of over the counter hot sauces tapatio etc etc Boring for us. There was a fish burrito also ordered the comment I got from that was it was sort of dry and not much fun to eat. Couple of large TVs playing movies so not much talking going on haha everyone was watching a movie and eating. Not my thing but I can see where others would enjoy that. As soon as you walk in, everyone is so friendly. I've been here like 3 times with my boyfriend and the staff is amazing. They come and greet you and converse with you (just the right amount) their service is fast and accurate. They start you off with chips and pico de gallo as well as a warm delicious soup! The soup is great if you're hungover lol. They have all gender restroom which I find great . It was a Monday afternoon following my return from a mini vacation. I had been craving seafood pretty much the whole week and hadn't gotten a chance to satisfy my craving. I didn't want that fancy seafood though, like pan seared halibut or whatever it is they have at the five star Restaurants. No, I wanted the deliciousness that can only come from the "ghetto" Mexican marisco places. These such places, however, are a rare commodity in the area surrounding UCLA (where I go to school), at least to my knowledge. Seeing how I wouldn't be back in Long Beach for a while and my taste buds were longing for these exquisite flavors, I looked to Yelp for some guidance. Most of the places that came up were farther or in more trafficked areas than I would have liked, but I was determined. As I was on the verge of giving up, I came across this little gem. I knew the type of place I was looking for wouldn't have amazing ratings-- or even that many for that matter. I looked at the pictures and a few reviews and decided I would try it out the next day after my classes. Of course, I dragged my boyfriend (another seafood aficionado) with me. It was about 1 PM when we made our way up here. Luckily, we encountered no traffic and got here in less than 20 minutes. To me, this was a sign from the gods that it was meant to be. We found this place easily and found parking in the adjoining lot. Clearly, we are not used to going to these types of places anymore because we were waiting to be seated when we were supposed to seat ourselves. Regardless, we were attended to quickly and with great service. The lady serving us was very nice and attentive. She spoke to us in Spanish, which I thought was nice. There weren't too many people there at the time so I'm not sure if the service would change later in the day. Either way, I was satisfied. We ordered half a dozen oysters and some scallops and shrimp in an aguachile style. Soooo yummy! This alone would have satisfied me. Also, they give complimentary chips and salsa as well as a small bowl of soup, which are also very tasty. I ordered a coctel campechana which has mixed seafood inside (oysters, shrimp, scallops, octopus). It was VERY good. I added some salt, chile, and lime to mine which made it exactly to my liking. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp cocktail which he also enjoyed. He also ordered a michelada which he said was good. I didn't taste it but it looked yummy. I stuck to my horchata, which was great. The place was kept clean, including the bathrooms. There were also TVs showing a soccer game and some Mexican music videos. The decorations were nice. Overall, it was a great experience for both of us. I would definitely recommend this place. We will probably be coming here at another time when we need to satisfy out marisco craving. read more

The seafood was amazingly delicious. My party tried the campechanas (which come with TWO oysters), the tostadas, aguachiles, camarones a la parrilla, and their filete. None of us were disappointed. The first time I came here, I tried Camarones Ahogados. It was delicious! A seafood mix with bit of spiciness to give it a kick and avocados and tortillas on the side, I kept helping myself to more till I was stuffed. They have two locations, one in Van Nuys and the other one in Canoga Park. I wish they had a restaurant up here in the NorCal area. The seafood burrito here can be compared to the size of a small baby. It took me 3 passes to finally finish this monstrosity of deliciousness and it was just as good each time around. This burrito, probably made for mythical giants, being a few inches longer than my utensils, had a great amount of seafood in it. Scallops, abalone, octopus, whole shrimp, etc=YUM. The burrito was also wrapped with rice and beans, topped with a sauce of deliciousness, and sprinkled with cheese. Definitely a decent price considering the size of the thing. I'd definitely order the seafood burrito again, but I think I'd regret not being able to try their other menu items! My mom got the tilapia plate. A whole fish was served halved and grilled and came with a side salad, fries, rice, and homemade tortillas. Her dish was also amazing and she had plenty to take home after. We were surprised by the affordability of this place and were able to take a lot of the leftover food home. Service was pretty good also. It seems like it's a one woman show out on the floor, but she was great and attentive. Went for dinner with my mom last night and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere was perfect for lunch or dinner and I think it would be a great place for dinner with friends on a weekend although I went on a weeknight. The staff and the owner were so friendly and iwas amazed that he actually came to our table and welcomed us. It showed how much love and pride he puts into his business. I had a burrito mojado with carne asada and my mom got the grilled tilapia. Both were good and the price was great. Came here last night for dinner and it was so good. This was my third time here and each time it hasn't disappointed. Last nights order was Lengua Ranchera, a Toastada with Pescado, and horchata. When you first sit down, they offer you chips, salsa, fresh chile and a small bowl of soup (on the house). The chile is SPICYYYYY!! And I'm thai and mexican. So spice is not a foreign thing. Delicious, but go easy on it. The horchata was ooookay. That's honestly the only reason I'm giving it one less star. I feel like it was either the bottom of the barrel and wasn't mixed before it was served. The Lengua Ranchera and Toastada was BOMBBBB.
