Tequila's Bar & Grill is a family owned restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food, full bar and free WI-FI. Walked in today 4:50pm and were seated right away by Araceli. She could have been a little nicer and pleasant. She also came to take our order. We were being rushed and she was a bit confused about their own menu options. We both ordered Enchiladas. His was with corn tortilla with chicken, green sauce on top ($16.99), and mine was with chicken and shrimp ($18.99). Also with green chili sauce on top. Opted for flour tortillas. I got mine with pinto refried beans and rice and he got his with double rice instead of the beans. We also got a side order of Guacamole Dip ($12.99), got myself bottled diet Coke ($4.76), son stayed with water. Free Chips & Salsa arrived on the table right after we sat down. She did check on us twice. Restaurant was big, clean and so was the bathroom with only one stall. However, restroom smelled so bad. They definitely need some type of air freshener and the seat was broken. Was moving while I was on it. They also had some kind of a game going on in the bar area and were cheering very loud and their TV's were extra loud. When Araceli brought our food out, she didn't mention that the plates were hot. Almost burned my hand. Food tasted good, but not great. It was also lukewarm. The portions were generous and appropriate for the price. Place was empty, dull, and boring. As we were leaving, more people started coming in. Total came out to be $58.96 including tax.For once, I didn't have any left overs to bring home with me. Big parking space shared with one other business. I really don't understand what the HYPE is all about.? I'd never been but I've rarely met a marg and enchiladas that didn't do me right. I'm honestly in disbelief that I'm still a one and done gal even at this weight. I look like I ate the old me for a snack but half a marg here and I'm turnt. Service was great! We came in after the game, grabbed dinner and drinks and were on our way. My parents are the cutest, they always go halfsies. My mom picks what she wants, my Dad acts like it's exactly what he wanted and just agrees to get it. Then they share with me. Their garlic fish dish entree was exceptional. If I tried something else my memory is blurred from the tequila. Oh yes! Their salad, they usually get fish and a salad or veggie. Whatever salad we had was great. I forget what it was, maybe a Caesar with protein atop (that sorta rings a bell). I mean we just won the fuc*ing WORLD SERIES, BACKTOBACK at that so expecting me to remember anything other than our double play would just be crazy. I paid the bill and we bounced. Instead of asking if everything was okay with the food the server asked if I wanted a box to go...the server initially forgot to bring the tortillas and it took forever to flag her down. We were craving Mexican food and visited this restaurant. My wife and I have been here a couple of times before. They have a very deep menu with a variety of different entrées. The inside of the restaurant has a feel of old Mexico, Adobe . I ordered the chicken taquitos with a chicken, tamale and beans. The taquitos were crunchy. The chicken was shredded and adding the lettuce and the salsa dip along with guacamole made it all come together. The tamale had green sauce and was a bit spicy, at least for me. It was a bit dry and more on the dense and heavy side. I've had tamales that my mom and Aunt would make and they prepared the MASA so that was light and fluffy. But to each their own. My wife ordered the Carne Asada plate. Right away she knew the meat was going to be tender and it was. They seasoned it with their own spices and to me. It was a flavorful taste as my wife shared a little piece with me. The cheese enchilada is exactly that total cheese, so if you like that, then I would recommend it. The chips that they serve with the sausage dip were freshly made and crunchy. All in all, this is a Mexican food restaurant that I will try again. Some of the things that I enjoyed were, the seats were not too soft and not too firm. The tables gave you enough privacy. I like the fact that you can order from a menu as opposed to a screen hanging on the wall in front of the counter. The staff was a bit slow but then again it was a slow day at the restaurant as we and two other guests were the only ones present they did not have music playing, although my wife has said that they sometimes do. Their bar area has several big screen TVs and we're showing the Los Angeles Dodgers versus the Los Angeles Angels baseball game. I will return because I want to try their menudo!! read more

Went on father's day this year. Ordered a burrito and everything was fine. When it came it was wet which I didn't order but also the waiter didn't ask me when he placed the order. To his credit when I got the food all I did was ask for aluminum foil because I said I forgot to order it not wet and he said "oh I'm sorry I just started i forgot to ask" which i said no you're absolutely fine I just need a piece of aluminum foil I'll scrape off the sauce and add it to my beans and rice to which the manager ( a 60 year old with a nice ass that I adored until she did this) comes to the tabel and takes the lead and asks whats wrong and all I said was nothing I just need aluminum foil I'm good . And she was like why and I said I just didn't order it wet and she literally just takes my plate, says she'll replace it. I was like okay thank you. Then brings back a plate with health the food. The plate is already overpriced for what it is. Probably told them to spit in my food because I look white even though I'm Mexican and was there with my grandparents who are clearly Mexican. The whole time I swear the lady made me feel uncomfortable because I'm sure she thought I was white with other Mexicans making a scene when that wasn't the case at all. Shitty fucking experience. Sad thing is my grandparents go there all the time and love it. But honestly besides that experience, the food is mid and way overpriced. read more

This is my go to Mexican spot in NoHo. While a lot of people go to salsa and beer, I feel like that place isn't quite what it used to be. At Tequilas, the prices are still pretty reasonable, with most meals under $15, and the portions are generous for that price. I got the torta for $12.99, and it came loaded with fries, so much food that I could barely finish it. The torta itself wasn't bad. My wife had the enchiladas, which I didn't try, but she swears they're great. That said, there are a few drawbacks. The service can be slow, today, there were only three of us in the restaurant, and it still took about 40 minutes to get our food, which isn't unusual. And unfortunately, we've had some encounters with rude staff in the past. Once, we had a server who gave us attitude the entire time, and we had to request a new server. I think she still works there, though we haven't had issues with her since. We're just cautious now. Overall, we enjoy the food, but the service is hit or miss. I'd rate it 3 stars, but it's closer to 3.5. read more

She always take him food from different places. The food was edible but not the best. Mainly it was the sauce on the wet burrito and the peas in the rice. Food is decent but damn service is TERRIBLE. There's one or 2 waitresses and they disappear. No refill on drinks, no asking if we anything, you literally have to hunt a waitress down. After the nearby competition started to let us down, we decided to find a new Mexican spot. After kissing a few frogs, may have found our new spot! Ambiance and decor are well put together and upon arrival our table of six including kids was sat right away. Staff were friendly and even offered us an extra table to spread out thanks to the manager for looking out. Sergio, our server was super patient given the group size. He kept our drinks full and got every order just right. Most important of requirements it the place must include a full bar. There is nothing more disappointing than spending a ton of money for rice wine margaritas! Not a problem here. There always a vast flavor difference between my skinny Cadillac vs the classic, which I can appreciate. Both were well poured but the skinny was the perfect mix of sweet and tart. The food.. the food! It definitely the spot! I had the "app" shrimp platter. It was enough to share with the table and still hoard the good stuff. Everyone at the table was happy.
