How fun! Our realtor recommended this spot and I am happy he did. The weather was wet so no walk on…read morethe beach, but a stop here made up for it entirely. Not like any Mexican restaurant I have been to, the menu requires a bit of explaining to make sure you get just what you want. I definitely had difficulty choosing because everything sounded delicious. I made good choices but can't wait to return to try more dishes. The Shem Creek shrimp taco was the best shrimp taco I have ever had! No comparison. The fried fish taco was excellent as well but after seeing some pictures of the blackened one , I will be chowing down on that one next time. The Al pastor burrito was huge and filled with a perfect combination of ingredients. Our server Jack was truly a highlight of the evening. Sweet and engaging he was! He asked me what I wanted to drink and in two seconds changed my mind and recommended something I had never tried before. It's not like me at all to take the advice of a new college graduate regarding an adult beverage, but he had conviction and I went for it. We have since gone to the wine store to buy several bottles, it was so tasty! Will return again and again! Thanks Jack for your wonderful service.

Finally made it to Papi's on IOP tonight. Wow, bloody wow…read more.. We've heard so many great things about this place, but have never popped in to check it out even though we live just minutes away. Tonight was the night... What a treat, what an experience, just spectacular. From the time we walked in till the time we left, we were treated like family. The bartender / server "Hollie" was more than accommodating. She recommended their sushi style fully loaded fish roll. Talk about a circus in your mouth. I thanked baby Jesus after I finished that heavenly dish. . Even better, their margaritas and assortment of tequila's are abundant and off the charts. Highly recommend... 5 Stars and 3 Thumbs Up From Us .

Armando's Mexican restaurant | St.George, Sc…read more 5792 County Rd S-18-200, St George, SC 29477 Armando's Mexican Restaurant - St. George, SC Review 3.7 out of 5 stars If you find yourself rolling through St. George, South Carolina and your stomach starts making executive decisions for you, Armando's Mexican Restaurant is probably going to pop up on your radar. And honestly? It's a bit of a mixed bag -- like a taco that's mostly good but missing that one key ingredient. The Good Stuff First off, the staff? Solid. Friendly, attentive, and quick on their feet -- the kind of service where your drink gets refilled before you even realize it's empty. That alone scores points. Food comes out fairly quick too, which is always a win when you're hungry enough to consider eating the chips basket itself. Pricing is also very reasonable. Around $15 per person, which in today's economy feels like you just got away with something. Decor? Let's call it "classic." Not bad, not great -- just kind of there doing its job. The Not-So-Good Now... let's talk about the salsa. This wasn't your typical Mexican restaurant salsa. This was... something else. It had a strong marinara vibe -- like it got lost on the way to an Italian restaurant and just decided to stay. Chips deserved better. The restaurant itself is showing its age a bit. "Dated" is the polite way to put it -- like stepping into a time capsule that hasn't been updated since flip phones were king. Bathrooms? Yeah... we're not writing home about those. And parking? Tight. Limited. A little rough around the edges -- literally. Think potholes and wear that's seen better days. Final Verdict Armando's isn't trying to be fancy -- and that's okay. It delivers on quick service, friendly staff, and affordable meals. But it definitely has some areas that could use attention (starting with that identity-crisis salsa). If you're in the area and want a quick, budget-friendly bite, it'll do the job. Just maybe don't go in expecting a life-changing Mexican food experience. 3.7 out of 5 Good service, fair prices... questionable salsa decisions.
