Went there today with a group of six. Three of us had the mb burger. Two were way overcooked to the point of tasteless. The other was so undercooked it could not be fully eaten. They offered nothing for this. I give them 4 star for service but a zero for food. If you can't cook a burger then get a robot - you stink as a chef. If you are charging top dollar for a burger then make it right or offer me a compensation. Fries were greasy. Desserts are not appealing either. Wings were good but onion soup was just OK. If you are that close to Jericho Tpk you can find many better options. Don't waste your money here. read more

I've been here twice now in the past few months and both times I've gotten the braised short ribs. Ah-mazing. Next time I will try out some wines while there also. All the food looks so pretty and tastes even better. Always crowded, not too crowded where you can't be seated. To me that just shows that it's a quality place. Making a reservation wouldn't hurt (can do it online!). Love that the foods and drinks are pretty much local. Like 1 of the specials last night was Tile Fish with Rottkamp Ratatouille! Pretty much my go-to spot. Everything is always good, farm to table. Specials always changing and they pay attention to quality. Awesome drinks, wines and excellent, craft beer selection is extensive and super good. Their staff is incredible and consistent. Adam the manager is best in class, he's become a good friend and he really takes care of us. My favorite dishes are the flat bread, the steak, and the skillet chicken although I promise everything is great. I just love it here. Had dinner here last night, first let me say that it was difficult to find bc it is in a strip mall and unfortunately i got lost and was late for my reservation, that being said the food was great but the service was horrendous, the wait staff reache over me at least five times, without once saying excuse, they also began removing the sliveware while my friends and i were still having conversations......I can generally tolerate a great deal but that experience by the front of the house staff was deplorable. read more

Manager / owner Adam is an unbelievable person, and has top notch hospitality service and experience. Have never once had a bad meal here, & we go often. At my sister's recommendation we tried Market Bistro for a birthday dinner out and despite not having heard of Market Bistro before and its location in a work plaza, I was blown away. The food was outstanding! Ingredients all specialty and items I would only expect at the finest NYC restaurants. Portions perfect sized and all our dishes cooked to perfection. The staff was lovely. We had to wait 10 minutes for our table, but they managed our expectations well and there is a nice sized bar to sit at and have a cocktail while you wait. Hands down the best meal I have ever had on the Island and looking forward to my next visit. read more

I had read good reviews on this neighborhood eatery and dropped in with my husband on the spur of the moment on a Thursday night. The ambience is nice and cozy with a beautiful bar. We were first seated at a booth (only one side) and I sank so low into the banquette that we had to change tables. My chair was opposite the bar, and I was distracted throughout the meal by the wide-screen TVs showing various sports round-ups. (why must we always have to watch TV when we are dining out?). We both ordered French onion soup first. Tasteless, soggy from being over-filled with bread, and short on onion. A big disappointment. I've had better soup at local diners. As my husband said, "If the soup isn't good, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the meal." My husband's "mb burger" arrived lukewarm, as were the French fries. He did not send them back, but ate the burger off the bun, without much gusto. I ordered a "small" of the coq au vin. It was a bit salty, but tasty. Be sure you like funghi if you order this dish -- it's loaded with them (much more than chicken). Service was fine. The food was really unremarkable, and we felt the prices were a bit high. Considering our lack of enthusiasm for our meals, we felt a bit ripped off. We won't be going back. read more

Ordered the organic chicken skillet roasted. It's a toss up if there was more oil or more chicken served. I asked for double veggies instead of the pasta. If that was double, I'd hate to think what a single portion is. It really didn't matter because the menu listed the veggies as 'jarnidere vegetables' but it was a few kernels of corn. The veggies were swimming in the oil from the chicken (maybe they were also cooked in oil). Asked for half the chicken to take home, figuring I'd wrap it in a paper towel to blot up the oil. Never got the take-home bag! Nothing healthy on the menu. Right now I have a pool of oil swimming around inside me like a foreign invader. I only had three bites of the chicken and one fork-full of corn. Horrible :-( read more

I think this is one of the best restaurants in the area. Food options are different, price is good, nice design of the interior, great wait staff, very nice owner. I've eaten here 2ce. Once at the bar and once at a table with a larger group. Don't let the bad reviews fool you. Humans are allowed to make mistakes and unfortunately people find an easier time spreading negative comments than good ones. I myself haven't commented before nor do I often but I felt like its such a great place they deserve better. I'm a chef and extremely picky about where I eat and barley will go out lately bc most places suck. This is one of my few.. I hope you try it and have a great experience as well. read more

I would love to give this place 5 stars because the food and presentation was wonderful. Service wasn't great. There were 3 people in our party for lunch. We ordered the Cobb Salad which was loaded with chicken, avocado and all the other great ingredients found in a traditional Cobb Salad. Fresh and enough for 2 people. Another dish we ordered was the salmon which came over perfectly roasted and seasoned Brussel Sprouts. My sister had the black bean avocado dip with plantains as her meal which was delicious. I used to come here once a week but the hostess on a saturday (two girls) were extremely rude and rushed my table out bc they apparently have a two hour minimum like its some sort of a buffet and without an prior notice. They came to our table and were rude to our guests who did come late but i had put in a order for them before as to not hold up the table- Which didn't matter anyways because our food got there two min before they arrived...so it was actually their own fault we were there for how long we were there for. Our waiter was nice but service was horrible and then we were rushed out and we didn't even complain that our server was always no where to be seen. I came to market bistro without a reservation, and had no idea what to expect being that I am not from the area and had a few hours to pass before seeing a show in Westbury. They were more than accommodating even without a reservation. They sat us at this interesting style pub table next to the bar which I didn't mind, because we were the only two sitting there but it would have been strange if others came along and sat at the same table as us. Still, the restaurant did appear to fill up fast, and rightfully so. The server was attentive without being too pushy, the food was fantastic and trendy (although a little bit salty on the seared tuna with soba noodles) and the atmosphere was a modern industrial gastro pub turned restaurant feel. Market Bistro is awesome! The food is really good. The menu changes daily. For appetizer I had the tuna tartare which is awesome. The Short Rib for main course is sooo tasty. For dessert I had the creme brûlée which is my favorite. My wife usually gets whatever their daily soup of the day is. The cauliflower soup is delicious. The service is excellent as well. All in all it was a good dinner. There was plenty to pick from on the regular menu plus the specials. Most dishes seemed like a good value. However, beware of the bait-and-switch with the wine list. I was told the restaurant had a special on a bottle of red wine, limited amount etc etc...but when the waitress brought the wine, it was a very different (newer) year. When I questioned her, the manager came by to appologize but never gave an good explanation. All he said was that they were out of the year on the menu and all they had was the 2017. Not "It's a typo" or "We'll adjust the price". So basically, they tried to swap in the 2017 for the 2014 at the same price but never fixed the wine list. Be sure to check the label. read more

I also left this review on opentable. I was excited to try this place for LI restaurant week. The website and pictures of the food looked amazing. I did see some mixed reviews beforehand stating the restaurant was loud and the service was bad. After waiting for two parties ahead of us to be seated, we were greeted by the hosted who sat us at a table close to the host stand and door. It was busy, so we couldn't complain too much. After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes and NO ONE came to the table to greet us or take our drink orders. Finally, we flagged down the hostess and ask her if there was a waiter assigned to our table?? she apologized and said there was some confusion and took our drink orders. Another waiter (NOT OURS) brought us our drinks, which were nice and strong. After another 5-10 minutes our waiter finally came to the table and greeted us with a "hey, whats up?" My husband said to him Oh we thought you forgot about us, and the waiter replied with "oh yeah sorry, I didn't realize this was my table". No apology?? really? After taking our order, we did not see him again until the end when he brought us our check. He did not deliver any of our food and did not take our dessert order. The hostess did! I generously tip always at least 20% wherever I go, but this waiter did not deserve that. He completely ignored us from the very beginning. When you go to a restaurant you are not only paying for food, but also good service! We left him a few dollars and gave the rest of the tip to the hostess, who was the only helpful person we dealt with the entire meal. Besides the crappy service, the food was very good. I had wild steelhead salmon and it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed that they used seasonal vegetables as well. The dessert, bread pudding with peanut butter ice cream, was DELICIOUS! I gave overall 2 stars, because although the food was delicious, the service is just as equally important and what draws you back in the future. read more

Found this place tucked away in a shopping center earlier this week and it took me by surprise!! I consider myself a chicken wing aficionado and let me tell you, their dry rubbed(jerk style?) wings are some of the best I've come across on the entire Island. Hands. Down. Everything else on the menu I saw coming out to other guests looked fantastic but I was in a rush and just needed a quick snack. And, what was even more surprising, was the wine list; it's NOT the average thrown together pile of familiar, tired name brands. I understand many people like their tried and true labels but the establishments I end up frequenting more often are the ones that take some pride in what they're doing. These guys don't mess around and it shows, so, put some trust in them and try something new. I can't remember the name but the Cabernet from Paso Robles was an absolute GEM. First off, I think the food is terrific. I had a pork osso buco with baby carrots and polenta and my wife had the rack of lamb. Both were awesome but the pork osso buco should have had quite a bit more of the polenta (which was tasty). I think the high price of the food is because it is locally sourced and it shows in the freshness of what Market Bistro served. My husband and I went to MB based on the recommendations here. We were looking for something different from the usual places in our neighborhood and this fit the bill: Great atmosphere, good wait staff, tasty food. I liked the farm to table concept and the drinks offerings were nicely composed, something for everyone. Plus they served Dogfish Head beer so that's always a bonus. As for the food, my husband ordered the burger and I ordered the special, based on our waitress' recommendation (soft shell crabs). My husband said the burger was good and it came with a cone of shoestring fries, which were tasty but oddly salt-less. My soft shell crabs (2 to the entree dish) was on the small side but absolutely delicious. It was served with a smear of avocado mousse and this fantastic sauce, some kind of citrus hollandaise-tasting concoction that made me want to literally lick the plate clean. It was that good. But it did not come with any kind of side so it left me feeling a little cheated for the $26 I paid. One more crab on the dish or an accompaniment, to me, would have made a more well-rounded "entree." Overall, we were very pleased with our new find and will return. One downside: The prices were a bit high and I know people say that's what you pay for locally-sourced, quality ingredients. However, I do think you should get a bit more of those ingredients for the price that they charge. read more

Loved Market Bistro! Great beer selection- we had the Schlafly Pumpkin ale and really enjoyed it (got a second round)! The bison burger sliders were delicious and the house salads were fresh and lightly dressed with lemon vinaigrette. My husband got the pork chop as his entree and he loved it. It was plated beautifully and was cooked perfectly. I got the NY strip, which was cooked very well. I wish it came with a side other than just fries, like a veggie of some kind. We've been here a number of times, usually on Sunday nights around 6:30-7:00. Everything has always been good including the service. Tonight was different. The service was very slow. We had to ask where our appetizers were, and then had to ask where our entrees were. My wife and I had burgers which are usually very good, but tonight the buns tasted stale and the burgers came out lukewarm. The waitress said the kitchen was backed up, but maybe it was her instead. It will be a while before we go back, if we do. Also, very loud. read more

Again, thank you Yelp reviewers! This restaurant was less than 5 minutes from our hotel, and I had a horrible lunch that day at Bertucci's so after a long day, we were looking for something special. I hate chain restaurants so viewing the reviews and website, it looked like Market Bistro was a good choice. Here is what we had: Little Pink Dress- delicious and tasted like a berry Popsicle New England Clam Chowder- A special of the day, and after tasting it, said it was the best version I have ever had, ever, anywhere Arancini- disappointed, I love mushrooms but they needed A LOT more salt Mac n' Cheese with rock shrimp- another daily special. Hot and cheesy, but WAY to much tarragon. Kinda ruined the dish b/c the shrimp were perfect and the seasoning just gave a bad aftertaste Mussels- undercooked a bit but pretty good. Again, could of used more salt or additional seasoning Flatbread- waitress recommended but I was not a fan. The tastes were good, but the flatbread got soggy Carrot Cake- freaking delicious No room for a proper entree after all of that! One notable point is that the food looks better than it tastes. Not that it tastes bad, it's that the presentation is on point. Nice selection of wine and craft beers. After being here, a few times, I recommended coming for lunch with a friend who had not tried as of yet. The lunch menu offers a few different options for persons of differing tastes. Vast selection of salads, fresh seafood, sandwiches, and appetizers. We shared a special of heirloom tomatoes and mozzarella (YUM) and the menu tuna tartar, which was very fresh. For main course, I was craving fresh pasta, so I ordered the house made ricotta stuffed ravioli with lemon sauce, butternut squash, and diced tomatoes. It did not disappoint. It was light and tasty. Could have eaten another order! My friend had ordered the special of sea scallop sliders on brioche buns with bacon and a really tasty sauce. Since I didn't use my calories on wine, I ordered the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. Another YUM!!! Will definitely return. read more
