Not sure if this is really what it's called I always thought of it as the Nordstrom cafe but it's right inside the store. They have good options to select from. Great place to go for lunch. Their tomato basil soup has a great flavor. I also enjoyed their cranberry turkey sandwich with havarti cheese on whole wheat bread. They have a fairly healthy selection sandwiches, salads, soups, entrees . The staff is also very friendly. Not a long wait for the food. Will definitely be back. Convenient to break up a long day of shopping. read more

My mom and I were out shopping and wanting a bite to eat. She had some Nordstrom bucks she needed to spend so we decided to eat lunch here. It's set up cafeteria style and you order and pay at the counter and take a seat. Someone comes over with your drinks and eventually the food you ordered. My mom and I both ordered salads, mine was the salmon caeser salad and hers was the cilantro chicken salad. They were out of caeser dressing, but I was offered any of their other dressings. I went with a creamy garlic dressing. Once our food came out, my mom asked for some dinner rolls to go with our meals and they were great. The salads overall were pretty tasty. I never really order salads but I've been trying to eat a bit healthy, especially if I'm ever in the states where portion sizes are huge and delicious food is in abundance. I'd eat here again if ever looking for some fresh food fast! read more

I'm going to make this review as short as possible... My Asian chicken salad was good. Ambience was pleasant. Waitress was friendly and attentive. But...the logistics sucked. Orders were made at the counter, like Panera, and then a waitress/waiter brought out your food, so you are were tricked into tipping someone. When you paid at the counter, you could not pay a tip with your credit card. Therefore, you were sucked into tipping the wait staff in cash. When you had no cash, it sucked because I had to go the ATM and get cash. Since my primary bank has no ATM at Westfarms, I was sucked into paying the surcharge. And it took FOREVER for them to make my salad. To sum it up, it was a glorified Panera minus the rewards card. Just drive 1/8 of a mile south to go to an actual one in front of Nordstrom's Rack. read more

Set back in the corner of the top floor of Nordstrom is a nice, relaxing, and good place to dine before, during, or after your shopping. In this cafe, walk up to place your order then take a seat in what is a slightly darker lighting dining area and enjoy. The menu was recently re-done and has limited the selection of meals to paninis and flatbread pizzas, with a handful of salad types and a few soup options. A definite must-try: the tomato bisque soup, which is served with a slice of special toasted bread. Very, very delicious!! The salad dressings are also their own house blend and very tasty, too. The servers at Nordstrom Classic Cafe are outstanding. They work efficiently, and are very friendly and kind. Though some meal choices are a little pricey, the quality of your meal and the wonderful servers make it worth it. read more

This is my third time eating at a Nordstrom cafe and by far this was the most disappointing experience. I originally wanted the Shrimp and Risotto, but when I got to the counter I was informed that they were out of shrimp! :( With the line about 8 people deep, I felt a lot of pressure to pick another dish quickly, so ended up with my standard Asian Chicken salad. Once ordered and paid, there wasn't a lot of options for seating, so we ended up sitting towards a back corner. Food came out sooo slow. (I think they were understaffed.) The waiter didn't offer any complimentary bread either. :( At the end, we didn't receive the traditional chocolate skinny wrapped Nordstrom mint, we got 2 unwrapped rectangular (about .75" wide) halves instead. read more

Definitely the best option for dining if you're at the mall, especially if you're in a hurry and don't want to settle for the fast food options near by. There's also never an extreme wait (like you often see at CPK or Ruby Tuesday). Haven't had a bad meal yet and the staff here are very friendly. It's a little hidden on the upper level so it's easy to overlook (I just found out it was there a couple months ago after years of shopping at Westfarms). So keep an eye out for it and give it a shot. **the Chicken Pasta Rossa and Grilled Bruschetta Pizza are worth trying. read more

Originally, I was going to give this place 3-stars, but then I reviewed my notes: "Pricey. Busy. Slow." And I thought to myself, why would I give that three-stars? I ordered the horseradish roast beef sandwich for a whopping $10.25. Yes, a sandwich in a department store costs that much. On the one hand, I liked that I could order rare roast beef. On the other, for a horseradish dish, the flavors were disappointingly not very strong. I should know by know that "aioli" doesn't just mean pretense; it also means watered-down. Summary: Pricey. This was a bit of a disappointment. We had looked online at the menu and had something picked out, the one thing they did not have on their menu anymore once we arrived (altho.....they had all the ingredients of that particular sandwich, they just would not make it). Soooo....he chose a tuna melt instead. Notice the word melt in the name. This might lead one to assume that the sandwich would be nicely toasted (as it did say in it's description, on 'grilled' bread). Imagine the surprise when it came out cold, and with cold cheese. No melting of ooey- gooey cheddar and jack cheeses as promised. Another weird thing, the soup that was to be served first came about 10 mins after the sandwich. Plus, in all that 10 mins, we were trying to flag someone down to just say, bring it to go, because the tuna is already cold, we will just take it home and heat it up. Overall, this was a very disappointing trip to what was supposed to be (as most of these 'high end' store restaurants are) a bit of a 'fancy treat'. I remember going to one of the big dept stores in Boston, to their little restaurant and it was 5 star canapes and french linen, and people fussing all over you....This was definitely not that, which is fine, I didn't expect that, but it was also a disappointment for what it could have been, just a nice, simple little lunch. You may have better luck than we did. A friend has told me she has frequented here and has been pretty happy, so this may have just been a service issue (plus i just reheated the tuna melt in the micro, and i think it tastes pretty decent!)....so, you may want to cautiously give it a try....but don't blame me if it is not all you hoped for! Had our 18 month great niece and two adults; could not have been nicer and more convenient. Mary was our server; food was prepared and served just as we ordered, hot and timely. The children's meal was just right; and our salads were wonderfully well prepared. I loved the shrimp with the hot polenta crotons; and the salmon salad is tasty and also freshly prepared. read more

All four people in my party got severe food poisoning 24 hours after eating here on 12/19/17. We had different dishes but all had chicken. My 9 month old didn't eat any and is fine (thank god). It's a shame because I have been several times, and generally like the food though the service is often very slow and lackadaisical. I am currently still recovering, going on 72 hours without being able to eat much, and my sister and friends are in the same boat. Please consider carefully before eating here. read more

By far the cafe/restaurant with the best quality food at the mall. All Nordys cafe will usually carry a different lineup of dishes. My favorite here is the grilled shrimp and arugula salad with sweet corn. Absolutely amazing! Nice place to just relax with a glass of wine. Only problem is their waiters/waitress and kitchen. The folks taking the orders at the door are fantastic. The rests is awful. Luckily, the food is so good it's worth the awful wait. read more

Another disappointment in West Hartford. We like the location and food offerings at the Nordstrom Cafe and had many positive experiences over the years. Unfortunately, there is lack of consistency in food quality and service. Yesterday was one of those "why did we go here" experiences. Not sure if it's ever worth the trip or the wait as service is incredibly slow, even with only a few patrons. I only come back to use my Nordie notes. Otherwise, I'd take my business elsewhere. That said, I've had some good dishes, though, had to pay with tons of patience on an empty stomach. Takeout might be the way to go and call ahead. Always check your order before leaving as they have a habit of missing an item or two. All day breakfast is a plus, and their polenta croutons and rare wonton soup are awesome when offered. Wish the nutritional information was available for the desserts as with the other menu items. read more

A little expensive... but worth it in my opinion. The tomato soup was yummy!! And their salads are good to. They are crisp and fresh and offer generous portions. I do wish they had a wider selection of dressings though. The relaxing environment here was just what I needed so I could rest my weary feet, especially after a long day of christmas shopping! The staff there is very friendly and work good together as a team. I would be tempted to give just 4 star because of the price but the service more then makes up for it, so I'll give it 5. Guess I was a sucker for punishment. After last night's experience, I'll have to call it quits. This place has really gone down hill. I placed a to go order for a salad last evening and was told it would be ready by 8. I arrived at about 8 minutes past and the place was empty. Not an employee in sight. A kind lady from the at-home department volunteered to check in back for somebody, once she was done with her customer. She did just that. Two very friendly and professional gentlemen came out to assist. I believe they were Eric and Jose. One of them went as far as going to the area of the ladies room to check if the hostess had gone there. He didn't see her. When he returned, both gentlemen looked through the bags that were piled under the hostess' belongings and found what appeared to be my salad. He was going to hand it to me when the hostess finally reappeared and went through her whole speel. I asked her what she would've done with the salad, had I not shown up. She stated it would've been tossed out. Yeah, right. Piled in with her half eaten cookie and such. Although there was something sticky on the top of the box, I stated that I'd hoped that the salad wasn't tampered with, paid and left with the salad. The biggest problem I had about the whole ordeal is that, after years of ordering this particular type of salad, I know the taste. This was the first time ever that there was an overwhelming taste of salt!! This woman wasn't planning on tossing the salad. She'd clearly seasoned it to her liking in hopes of taking it home and I'm the one that suffered for it by paying for a salad that was not edible. Things ran better when manager prior to renovations was there. The "new" male manager is no longer there, which is good. The female assistant manager (possibly now manager) could seemingly care less usually, so no sense in bringing this issue to her attention. Shame on you Nordstrom!! Get your act together!! Had an amazing salad today! Goat cheese and apple. The ingredients were delicious together and the chicken tasted a lot better than most "faster" food places. Reading the other reviews if long waits is a problem maybe go at a time after the lunch rush? I went around 4:00PM and only wait 5 minutes for my salad! That was great! I thought the service here was great! This has become my favorite place to eat in Westfarms Mall. Nice atmosphere and good food.

I began coming to this establishment about 2 years ago, when my daughter was very young. I hesitated at first, as it seemed to be a little up scale, and bringing a 6 mo. Old baby may not have been an appropriate action. However, I was surprised. It was not only a great place for both of us (since and I found a nice spot in the back away from other guests), the food was also delicious. As the baby got older, I frequented there and brought other family members. This summer, I found that it was being renovated, and as I had grown accustomed to my eating there and since my trips to westfarms mall are few, I was a little put out of my routine. Today, however, I went there with my mom and daughter, and saw a new, freshly renovated restaurant. Better than I had expected. read more
