The employee who couldn't open the jar on the phone with her manager explaining the situation and seeking approval for a replacement jar.

Chat GOT took me to this food stand in Grand Central Market. I saw that Marky's re wives mostly positive reviews and thought it was sure to be an excellent customer experience. I was WRING. I was having a guest over from California who loves foie gras. I ''twas so happy when I arrived at Marky's, but by the time I left I was as sullen as the manager and her employee who selected the pot of foie gras and charged me for it. WAY OVERPRICED but it's Grand Central, so I looked the other way. My guest came and went without foie gras because neither I nor he nor my super fit neighbor guy could open the jar. It should be easy to open with a butter knife and a twist. This wouldn't open. So I went back to the counter and asked the employee to try opening it after my guest returned home. She couldn't open it. She had to call her manager to get approval to exchange for the same jar but one she could open before o took it home. Manager said, no. I'm not doing anything for you. I'll post my receipt later. See photos of the employee, the jar finally opened after the employee broke the jar trying. I would recommend you NEVER go to Marky's. There's no caviar or hope gras worth dealing with the manager there who thought nothing should be done for me. Is that really how any customer should be treated. If you go there, you'll get the same treatment. .

Staff was AMAZING! So knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. Only downside was that this place was hard to find within Grand Central. It's inside the market that they have. Price list is reasonable and the caviar I got was really good quality. Can't wait to be back and try another kind.

They also have various meats, pastas, olives, pickled vegetables. Anything you'd need to make a cheese board. Though they also have pre-made boards for when you're in a pinch. They also have butters, oils, sauces, marinades. Fresh breads, honeys, chocolates, coffees and teas. They have cheesemongers throughout the store, just waiting to help you out and find your dream cheeses! They also have a snack counter/small cafe where you can try dishes made with their cheeses (like a Mac n cheese bar, grilled cheese, etc). Murray's also ships cheeses and products. And they have classes to teach you about cheese, wine, and charcuterie!

This class just did not need the standards of other classes I've gone to. The reason I gave this 3-stars is because what you get for $100 is just not worth the price, plus the final product was inedible. The class consists of giving you flour and eggs to make the pasta, then roll it (which was super rushed), a "cheese tasting" (three tiny portions of cheese with some pesto) and unlimited wine (sparking white and red). You then bring the pasta home to cook it (with the instructions to use a fork if you haven't had enough time to roll your dough, which some didn't). I made the pasta when I got home and it was completely inedible as was the person's I went with. The instructor was nice and the room is beautiful, which is why I added a few stars. They're also great about making sure that your wine is filled up. Overall, I would not recommend for this price, especially when the end product was a throwaway.

I don't think they actually milk the goats or wash the rinds, if that's what you're asking. Nor do they have a company retail shop as far as I know, at least not here. Nevertheless, I have had so much pleasure over the years their cheeses in my local shops and restaurants, now called Mitica (meaning "myth") here in the US, that I want to give them a shout-out here. What prompted this was a small sliver of Campo de Montalban I picked up from the "odds and ends" bin at Whole Foods, that happened to be perfectly paired with a bourbon-barrel aged heirloom cider I also bought there, it was a lot like the Spanish cheese Mancheco but more rounded for me with a little funkiness in addition to the nutty taste. Anyway, it was one of those peak cheese moments. Several other Mitica cheeses are on my go-to list, so all I can say is Thank You!!! FWIW they have started to import other mediterranean products like olive oil, chocolate, and so on, but are mostly known for cheese.
