In town for a wedding and we were so pleased with the drinks, food, and exceptional service from Adrianna! After hearing what I was in the mood for she recommended a drink not on the menu, Grapefruit Ricky: Elderflower liquor, Smirnoff Vodka, fresh squeezed ruby red grapefruit and lime juice, topped with soda. It was the best drink I've ever had!! You can't beat fresh squeezed juice! She also recommended the asparagus fries with citrus aioli which I gobbled up and then surprised us with grit cakes with a tomato cheddar jalapeño sauce. Adrianna was just so amazing! Nice restaurant. Good food. But they won't seat a party of 2 in a 4 seater. You must wait. Even at 3 in the afternoon. This has happened to me several times when there is not a rush and multiple seats are open. We have been going to other restaurants instead of Marlow's. read more

Had an early dinner here before the movie and the asparagus was delicious. I had a delicious pimped out bloody mary and chicken salad wrap. Everything was excellent. The server was kind and attentive. I like this place because there is a great variety and it's close to home. read more

I honestly cannot for the life of me understand why this place was packed on a Monday night. Only half of the menu was available due to inventory shortages. My wife ordered a steak salad, but after two requests for a steak knife and a water refill we gave up. I ordered the ahi tuna salad, but the tuna literally had no flavor at all and had a weird texture. My friend had a burger, that he described as "unremarkable". We will not be going back, but they have enough patrons who either are starving, love bad service, or don't know the difference so they should be fine. read more

Five stars for food quality and Five stars for the wait staff. The wait til from order to food delivery is atrocious though. We placed our order and didn't have food for 45 minutes. It was a Saturday at 5:00 and raining outside so it was busy. However restaurants have to be flexible enough to manage large crowds and slow business hours alike. THIS IS A THIRD REVIEW SAME ISSUE BUT WORSE : Ordered $15 salad ahi tuna salad and received a salad smaller than a side salad. It LITERALLY had THREE pieces of lettuce. I counted. Had to ask for more lettuce. Had TWO wonton chips... not a handful or at least 10 or 5 for god sakes but TWO! Asked for more wonton chips , lettuce and dressing . The entire salad was the size of my fist. ( I am a woman 110lb woman with small hands also) I don't eat much but this would not fill a small Ethiopian child. First off, I want to say that all of the staff, from the wait staff to the kitchen, were wearing masks and taking COVID precautions seriously. Unfortunately, that's probably the best thing I can say about our trip here. Overall, a very disappointing experience yesterday. Service: Our waiter seemed irritated by our presence and took forever to come back and take our drink order-- we'd probably have had more than one drink but we ordered our food at the same time as our drinks so what's the point? He came by our table several times but didn't bother to stop and check in, even when we were clearly no longer looking at the menu, and even when I tried to flag him down. He didn't do a good job of explaining the menu either; both of the beers we ordered were canned (didn't know that), but he recommended *one* of them be switched for something on tap and not the other. I set an empty glass of water near the edge of the table (because he wasn't very quick on the refill--it shouldn't have gotten the chance to get empty), and when he stopped to get it he aggressively turned and asked if I wanted more water. Just a very weird interaction with him all evening. Food: We ordered the Cuban and a side of fried okra (having just filled up on popcorn during the movie), and it was underwhelming. Not exactly bad, just very average. The sandwich was very bready (and not in the good way) and it just tasted dry. The okra was at least interesting, as I've never seen them fried whole like that before, but was also disappointing; the breading was too much and frying process didn't cook them very well. Atmosphere: This was probably the highlight of our time here. The bar has a very cool vibe; it's dark but not too dark, has exposed brick everywhere, and these lights designed to look like candles that were very cool. The way the booths are designed really make you feel private, even though it's a busy place. It seemed like a fun place to date the wife, or to drink with the boys on a gameday. Sadly, there are other options nearby and I likely won't be coming back to be treated like that again. read more

On 7/20/17 at approximately 6:45 pm, I came to the location for my first 1st experience. While walking up, the front check in area was super congested. First thing I noticed that there was no waiting area which was very uncomfortable. A possibly Hispanic female with black hair greeted me and took down my information on me wanting a booth table for 2. I asked her if she needed my name and didn't say anything other than she would text me when my table was ready. Approximately 10 minutes later, a white female with blonde hair asked me if I needed help. I advised her that I already talked to the other hostess about a table. She said she would move me up in line. I advised her that I wanted a booth table for 2. She then said would first table available be okay? I was like umm, I just told you I wanted a booth for 2. This time, she took my name and number down onto her table. Approximately 10-15 minutes later, a party of 4-5 that wasn't here before us nor did they get a text messages ended up getting the booth we been waiting on. I was like what? The blonde hostess came up to me and was like, we are getting a table for you ready outside. I was like umm, I asked you for booth 2 times. She said yes you didn't and shook her head and I pointed at the nice booth she just gave to somebody else who was there for like 1 min. At this moment, I was furious. She offered no apology or anything. I don't remember the last time I was so upset at the restaurant. Approximately another 5 minutes went by and she came back and pointed at a half booth and said would that be okay? I was already upset and told her, "Whatever, any booth is fine." Another 5-10 minutes goes by. I watch them clean the booth and ready to go. Not sure why we weren't seated at the half booth by this time. I also was the only shaved headed Asian waiting and I am sure she didn't get me mixed up with somebody else. I went and grabbed the gm's business card as I would like for the gm to know how their business is handled by the first person that their customers see. I ended up walking out and driving to the Marlow's Tavern at the Avalon. (See my review there) read more

Food is decent and so is the vibe inside. Service is even better. Unfortunately they only allow hi-chairs in the outdoor patio. They told us that the patio is heated and that there are TVs showing sports. Unfortunately several tables can barely see the TVs, and the heaters didn't work properly, so it was really cold. If they're going to restrict those with small children to the outside, making sure the heaters work would be the bare minimum I'd expect. read more

I've been to Marlow's on several occasions and the food is always good, the drinks are always good, and the service is always good. However, today at the Collections we were seated in the patio area where the plastic was down and the heat was on. Our server appeared to have forgotten everything with the exception of his name. We ordered two desserts and some drinks. Not difficult, a beer and a mixed drink, and the desserts came out first with the drinks following approximately 10 minutes behind. He blamed it on the bartender, but I think we know where the issue was. Shortly after, I ordered another beer that was on draft. 15 minutes later, he came out with the excuse of a blown keg! Seriously? So I said to forget the beer and just bring me a check. Another 10 minutes later, he comes back with the check and it has the second beer that I ordered on it. The server, verbally stumbling, remarks that he will take it off before he runs my credit card. Why didn't you take it off before you brought me the check? In case anyone is wondering, I don't know his name, but he did resemble Ted from the TV show Schitt's Creek, but 50 times slower. Sadly dissatisfied in Marlow's this go around. Oh, one more thing, they have three desserts listed on their menu, but only two were available. read more

He spoke at length with me and offered his sincerest apologies along with a refund. I honestly feel validated and appreciated as a customer- This is truly what customer service is all about. Mr, We need more of you in business- My Faith in 'the customer comes first' has been restored I went to an event catered by Marlow's Tavern and loved their food so much I decided to have them cater for my celebration I was having on 5/4/2019 Boy, was I disappointed Our food seemed to have been hastily prepared and was o-so bland Paid almost $300 and it was probably one of the biggest waste of money - which I work hard for.. I called the branch manager the next day to complain and I heard him in the background saying 'whatever' He offered his apologies and tried to explain the lack of flavor on the fact that I picked up my order 40 minutes late. My wife and I have frequented Marlow's, at The Collection, in Cumming, many times and we vacillate between giving it a 3 star or a 4 star rating. The food is very good most of the time, but is inconsistent at times. The service is good, however, the star of the waitstaff is a waitress named Iris, who is consistently tremendous and thoroughly professional. Very friendly and attentive to details, as well as remembering steady customers' favorites. My wife and I sorely miss her friendliness and quality of service when she is not on duty. This restaurant can easily earn higher rankings if the food quality improved a bit. read more

This restaurant food and service was amazing. They were able to seat my wife and within 10 min after being told we would have to wait 20 min. Everyone eating were spaced out and the atmosphere was great with the sun shining in from the patio area. Furthermore, the restaurant is located in Cumming GA just off of interstate 400 in the Collection by Forsythe shopping plaza. Well, I had the PAN SEARED TRIGGER FISH with Panko-Chive Crusted, Basmati Fried Rice, Edamame, Shitake Mushroom, Napa Cabbage, Miso Soy Vinaigrette. And please let me have the mic for moment. This dish and fish was awesome. Every bite that I took of the fish and everything else on the plate was so delicious. Whomever came up with that dish needs to be recognized for coming with an amazing meal. I love fish, but the trigger fish was seared to perfection and seasoned perfectly. And I must say the service was on point, our waitress did a phenomenal job in taking of my wife and I. Therefore, I applaud this restaurant for doing things right when it comes to taking care the customer to make they have a comfortable experience and making sure that the food is GREAT with an excellent taste to every bite. Would never come back. The service was atrocious we had to continuously chase down our waitress. We got sat with not waitresses in sight for quite sometime. When we finally ordered drinks and nothing difficult for the majority of our parties and 2 alcoholic drinks. None came out in a timely manner and then when our food finally came she delivered and even though we were done with drinks did not attempt to ask if we cared for a second alcoholic drink or anything for that matter. When she finally came back to check on us we had finished the food because of how long it had taken her so we did not get a second drink. The restaurant was very slow that day so we did not find a reason for such delays, we are understanding when we are not the only people. Saw this place, heard about it earlier in the year and thought we'd check it out. So glad we did! Up front, I'd like to point out how hospitable and kind the staff are. They are bubbling over with enthusiasm which gave the place such a welcoming atmosphere. We were given a complimentary appetizer as first time guests - homemade kettle chips with Gorgonzola dressing, chopped tomatoes and green onions. It was outstanding! For that reason, I couldn't finish my fish tacos and side salad! The blackened fish in my taco was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend that dish. My husband enjoyed an okay burger with a side of fried asparagus. The asparagus were lightly breaded and fried. The accompanying citrus aioli dip was spot on and another of my recommendations! The burgers are exceptional, the fish tacos are perfect, and the salmon is spot on. You also HAVE to try the jalapeno cheese grits - they are delicious. Marlow's is decent. Always packs a good crowd. Service is pretty good, but food is just okay to me. Started with the calamari: crisp and served with peppers in a sweet and spicy chili sauce. Not bad! Next was a black bean burger. The bun was dry and awful. The burger itself was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. It was served with a plethora of fries. My favorite thing here is the sangria. It has chunks of fruit and cilantro. Pretty tasty. I'd most likely come back for drinks alone! read more

We all have adjusted to the post pandemic decrease in customer service but this location has easily set a new low. Visited on a Wednesday and was warmly greeted and immediately seated. Server appeared after about 10 mins to take our order. Drinks, appetizers and salad were ordered at the same time and we requested everything to be served at the same time. Drinks arrived 15 mins later by another server, along with several apologies for the delay( no biggie). Wings (slightly undercooked, rubbery) and fries arrived 15 mins later cold. Our request for a fresh batch was quickly fulfilled by yet another server. After another 20 mins of waiting for our salad, I flagged down our original server and was met will a terrible attitude and a sense of annoyance. Apparently we interrupted her conversion with other co-workers. We departed shortly after canceling the salad. Customers should be a priority! The last 2 times eating here for lunch have convinced me to go elsewhere. While I've always felt that they were a bit pricey, the food is usually good. We went for lunch recently, before noon,& (even with it half full,) we were told it was a 5-10 min. wait as the "kitchen couldn't keep up." OK. Our 5 min. passed, they seated us at one of the many empty tables, & our waiter came in a few minutes. We did notice that, during our visit, any time a deuce (2 ppl) came in, they had to wait for their phone call for seating, but groups of 3-4 were seated immediately. Hmm. Also noticed that two couples LEFT while waiting, so I guess that plan (by management?) to "save" 4 seaters for 3+ people wasn't so great. Our paninis, BTW, were good, but fries were barely warm, & salad was skimpy. We'll return to Marlow's, but will go to Alpharetta or Suwanee instead. read more

We came here after a movie next door. It was pretty crowded for a Thursday night but I think m they generally tend to stay busy. We were still able to get a booth fairly quickly. Service and food was prompt. Really enjoyed the kettle chips with the cheese. Really addictive. Wish there was more cheese on it though. Maybe you can request extra? I loved my fish tacos! So good and a pretty nice fish portion. I tried the shrimp and grits and they were just ok to me. The plus was they were not skimpy on the shrimpy. The shrimp portion was nice. It was over a cheddar grit cake which was different than the traditional shrimp and grits. I'll be back for the Gorgonzola topped kettle chips and fish tacos. read more

I had the French Dip sandwich and my friends had burgers. I have to say that it was one of the best French Dip sandwiches that I have ever had. As always, the fries were fabulous. Yikes - what has happened to this place? Absolutely terrible. We waited over 35 minutes for an appetizer that we had to check on multiple times. When our food came out, we had no silverware and had to ask multiple servers to get some. My mothers salad came with no dressing, our food was barely warm, and there was a huge piece of old crusty fried chicken in my asparagus fries. When we finally got the waitresses attention to tell her that there was no salad dressing she said "oh yeah, we ran out of the one that comes on that". So instead of checking in and seeing what else we would like she served a dry salad?? It was absolutely horrible. Too many other choices in the area to put up with this service. This has been one of my local favorite "go to" restaurants for years. It was consistently good. Great atmosphere, great service, convenient and in a nice shopping center with a large movie theater. I visited this past Sunday for a late lunch early dinner and the whole restaurant seemed to be off its game. We sat on the patio and were given brunch menus in error. When we asked about a menu item we were told we had the wrong menus and were given the dinner menu. No big deal We ordered the humus appetizer and drinks. Marlows has a great humus appetizer. It came and was great as usual. We noticed the little metal dish that typically holds the olives was empty. It was on the humus plate but left empty. An oversight we thought and asked our waiter. He said I think we are out of olives but I will check. He returned a while later and just said yeah we are out of them and kept going. Not even a few more carrot sticks or anything to make up for it. Knowing that they were out of an item the waiter should have advised when we ordered or at least offered more of another item to make up for what was missing. The humus was still very good even without olives. But a bit bizarre that they still put the olive dish on the plate. For dinner I ordered the tavern salad with grilled chicken. It was good but nothing special. More like a salad you would make at home, no pizzazz or special touch. My husband ordered the grilled chicken club. He said it was not good. Bread partially soggy and not much taste. The manager did stop by our table looking disheveled with food on his clothes. It appears he had been working in the kitchen. I'm chalking this visit up to a staffing issue and will try again and hope marlows is back to its prior food and service. I hope this experience isn't the sign of a restaurant in decline The total worst thing was the grease on the floor on the way to the bathroom. Rugs had been thrown down but any time you had to step on the floor you were skating. Really unsafe and customers were commenting on how dangerous the floors were. read more
