Service can be a little slow sometimes and the food overpriced considering it's just bar food. Decor is rather plain and a little rundown. Just remember, this is a bar attached to a hotel, so there's always several married guys from out of town looking for a quick hookup. One of my favorite places for brunch. It seems as though the word spread quickly how great of a place this was because it was very overcrowded. My daughter and I were seated at the "Community Table" with people we did not know and we were not asked if the seating was ok or if we wanted to wait for other seating. The floors are dangerously slick and I had on tennis shoes. The salad/fruit/dessert bar was no longer available. There was a small table of two or three desserts, but no fruit. When we got up to check out the buffet, we were only able to get a few things before the person that checks the food stood in front of five of the entrees and said they all needed to be refilled. So, we decided on freshly made waffles and omelets. This guy knows what he's doing. Yummy! The absolute highlight of my brunch and the only reason I did not give Marlow's Tavern two stars. Marlow's is a restaurant chain in the Southeast. This location is conveniently located in the hotel I stay at when I'm in Atlanta (Tucker) for business. I've probably dined at this restaurant over 30 times and I've never had a bad meal. Their food is consistently creative and always good. The problem with this place is the service. I usually get fair to good service which is all I ask for since I'm staying at this hotel. However, the service was especially bad during my recent visit which prompted me to travel outside my hotel for lunch and dinner the following 3 days. Marlow`s does a reasonably good job with the food selection but they fall short in 2 important areas 1st the food is not being held at a SAFE TEMPERATURE in the kitchen, . The Chafers can only keep the food from loosing temperature .They are not designed to heat the food that comes only lukewarm from the kitchen . Some items were barely "Body Temperature " I tried to get my serving from the bottom of the pan and it was barely acceptable . The Health Inspector would have a "field Day " with the brunch buffet and Marlow`s would loose lots of points from their current 91 A... 2nd the dessert section was rather poor . Tried Marlow's for the first time and can't believe I never had before. First, everybody was so friendly. We told our server Christine (I think) it was our first time and she was happy to give us a great overview. While she was getting drinks the Chef came by and laid down some of the Gorgonzola Chips and I said "you have the wrong table". He said "No, I understand this is your first visit and you get some chips on me just to give them a try". Oh my God they were incredible! Some times these types of chips are salty and bland, but these had a mellow cheese flavor with incredible bacon bits. If I told you we had fish tacos and a chicken BLT panini it would sound like we had hip but usual bar food. This was anything but. Anywhere else the tacos would have been heavy on the salt and spice, and the panini would have been bland and cheesy. The tacos had a great blend of flavors without being overly spiced, and the Panini had layers of flavor. The chicken would have been great on its own but with the bacon and cheese it absolutely vibrated! And the Okra had a subtle sweetness with a nice light batter flavorful on it's own. We will definitely be back to this and other locations. Don't do like us and think just because they have multiple locations that Marlow's is a typical chain. A few of us came in for apps on a busy weekday and next time we'll wait a few minutes for a better table. They put us at the last high-top near the kitchen and it is a table that simply shouldn't exist in ANY restaurant. You're basically in the prep area listening to the expediter yell "HANDS!" for an hour and a half. You can see the dirty floor and if you're lucky enough to be on the outside, you get bumped by every server working. We rather have shared a community table with strangers than be in the staff's runway. But since the ladies were hungry, we sucked it up and just laughed at the situation. Our server, Christina, was on point with service--took our drink order and put in the first round of apps. I have to say, for a gastropub or tavern, there is a sever lack on decent tap choices. All the taps are for garbage beer: Bud, Bud Light, Coors, etc. All the decent, GA-based beers are bottle only, which should probably be reversed. Don't bother with wine either--all grocery store vins so you're not going to find anything fantastic. Two members of the party ordered cocktails; one off the menu and one custom Manhattan. The Gin/Basil/Lime/Tonic/Cuke concoction was tasty; attractively served and very balanced. The Manhattan was well done too. They had a nice array of whiskys, it was stirred (don't EVER shake a drink that's all booze) and they put in a lemon peel instead of some nasty fake cherry. They are a bit behind the times on glassware though--using 10 oz. martini glasses for "up" drinks. These things should be banned (or at least relegated to ceviche or shrimp cocktail service). The problem is that something like a Manhattan sits nearly an inch below the rim. You pay $2 more for an all-alcohol cocktail that's served next to a house drink which is clearly fuller and $2 less. Small issue, but a couple cases of coups would cut your alcohol costs and make for a better presentation. Food items were all very tasty (with some small issues) and there were enough choices to want to come back and try different items. Firecracker shrimp was "tempura" yet they are clearly breaded shrimp. They could have been a little browner (they were hot out of the fryer though) and from all the orders I saw leave the kitchen (I mean, I was right there), it looks like they're supposed to be that way. I would ask for extra crispy next time. Tuna Poke was a table favorite; the teriyaki sauce is very salty though, so I would ask for "light sauce" since it overpowers the tuna and avocado. The burrata cheese/tomato,/eggplant app was my favorite; very clean, light, and lots of flavor. We also got the smoked trout dip, which was good, but nothing like anyone at the table thought it would be like. Two members of our group were FL natives, so they thought the dip should have been less runny and more solid--and warm, not chilled. It tasted good though--lots of horseradish, which probably contributes to the consistency. And they served it in one of the those ultra-hip mini-mason jars, which is great, but let's get rid of the out of date checkered paper in the basket. And the martini glasses. We'd all definitely go back and maybe try a different location. I wondered how much this store has to bend to the whims of the attached hotel (which may explain the lack of quality taps). And as someone else said, why Fox News on half the TV's? There's only a half dozen sports channels out there, so why am I watching O'Reilly's bloated mug? It was more interesting to watch the expediter. HANDS! HANDS TIMES 2!!! And also, why are the floors so slick? One of the girls nearly fell coming in? I saw this in another review (Nikki H.) and had to add it after the fact. This is either an issue with the cleaning product being used (degreaser) or just that someone is lazy and not doing it right. Been here a few times since moving into the area. The service has always been great and the food is not bad. I like the darkened interior as I am a vampire in my real life. Much more upscale than my usual haunt Benchwarmers. Don't fret Bench, you always make my wings exactly like I like them, but come to think of it, after 14 years you know what to do! Also, they usually have my drink order on the table before we even speak to the waitresses. And yes people it is waitresses. A Friday afternoon, I took a dear friend to lunch. Boy were we happy when we left. This is a hotel restaurant but don't let that stop you from visiting. From the moment you walk in, the staff is smiling and welcoming. We sat immediately. The server was very nice. But the food! Oh my goodness. I had shrimp and grits, my friend had a burger. Was at the rooftop bar for a private party on a recent Saturday afternoon. The hors d'ouevres were fine, the service was fine, and the drinks were fine. Haven't had dinner since a less than stellar experience a couple of years ago, but we'll likely give it a shot again some time. I wish there was a gin mill in Decatur with a roof bar like this (Eddie's Attic just doesn't cut it for me for some reason) even though there's not much of a view. Chris at bar was grea,t he was wll versed at the beer selection and the menu, not to mention very personable. I ordered the Mongolian BBQ steak sandwich with salad and both were very good. The steak sandwich had great flavor with fresh veggies and a little spice while the salad had great flavor and was not a small side at all. Great for dinner with the girls. Very conveniently located, not overrun with posers. The service was good once they realized that we were actually there. I had to grab one of the waitresses who were standing around talking. But she made good recommendations and took good care of us. We had lobster and crab soup, crab nachos, various burgers, and Caesar salad. Everything was great. This is the absolute worst Marlow's Tavern in all of Georgia. We waited over twenty mins. Just to order our drinks. Another twenty mins. To get the drinks. My daughter and I did not get our drinks for another 15 min. wait time. I complained to the waitress about the long waiting time and she did not apologize or make any comment. We place our order for dinner only to wait another 30 mins. I told the waitress to bring out the appetizer and my soup before the main course. After an extended amount of time, we got the appetizer but not my soup. About 15 mins later, they brought out our food. My soup came out with my dinner. It was awful! The soup was cold. The sandwich meat was cold and very overcooked....In fact it was burn. THIS IS NOT HOW TO SERVE THE CUSTOMERS. The bill for this dinner cost $125,00. We have Been to other Marlow restaurants and were never disappointed with the service and food. This Resturant needs to shut down and retrain their staff. STAY AWAY FROM MARLOWS TAVERN ON LAVISTA ROAD IN TUCKER! By the way, I did not complain to the waitress again about the food and lack of service due to her lack of interest in what I would say. My daughter did complain to the manager, but she did not offer any apologies or discount on the bill. read more

The atmosphere was killer, the food was just too good and the wait staff (young black guy- with bandage on right hand) I would have hired away if I still managed eateries. A great night out. Ended up at Marlowe's after deciding we didn't want to drive very far. The waiter.. Kevin? Was excellent.. red headed dude who was the perfect combination of hip and funny and not annoying.. He stated he was a sommelier and suggested a riesling that my lady loved.. Its a simple place.. simple taste.. The Drunken Chicken i had was larger than most chicken breast and well done. It wasn't overly sweet.. the asparagus was snappy and the fried mac and cheese was good. She had the Grilled Salmon.. and with two glasses of wine.. and Guinness on Tap the place hit the mark for me. My second time there. I enjoyed the experience both times, the first time got a little dampened by kid not cooperating. After the first visit I thought it would be a great kid-free night out place to go. I liked the darkness, and I liked the servers, and oh, I loved, loved, loved those kettle chips. I tried their Cuban and was pleased. Second time around we got parmesan truffled fries as an app, and this time they weren't quite as good as the first time - the garlic was missing, and there wasn't any truffle flavor found, but they were still good. I got the fish tacos with a jalapeno corn grits on the side, and really liked both - flavors were carefully combined, with just enough kick for my palate to leave me want more, and not feel overwhelmed with jalapenos. I think this place is a nice break from the rest of the "same old" in Tucker. We have many places here that are frequented by 70 something people, not that I have anything against them, but I still like to visit a slightly hipper place being 36 and all... :), but without having to travel 20 miles to get there. I would definitely recommend Marlow's if you are in the area and want something better than good 'ol boring chains. Would I drive 20 miles because I crave their food? Maybe not. read more

I went here for my birthday this past June. I called ahead to make reservations for 10. That was very easy and the staff was super helpful. My party and I arrived around 11 so we only had a few hours to enjoy the place. When I got there they had no one around to confirm my reservation so they had to scramble to get some tables together. There were not a lot of people on the top patio so we were seated in a few min. Our waitress never wrote anything down and constantly forgot our drinks and waters. The hummus was out of this world but all the other food was so so. My boyfriend got the chicken Caesar salad and he stated it was the worst he had ever tasted. The atmosphere for a Saturday night in June was less than fun and the patio floor rocked with every footstep. I want to give this place another chance, but I am afraid I am on my own. It was my choice to go there and I had a mediocre birthday at best. Hoping that next year is better. On a good note the cosmo's were good.... read more
