I went there on a Sunday. According to Yelp, the restaurant opened at 12pm. I made a special trip for the Bastilla pie. The owner oped the door and told me their hours had changed to 1pm. The owner also said he account with Yelp was closed. So why does Yelp still have the restaurant listed? I waited till the restaurant opened. My husband and I came here at the tail end of an anniversary trip to Chicago and this is, hands down, the best food we've had all week. We ordered chicken pastilla, atlas tagine and menara tagine and loved all 3 of the dishes. This place will definitely be on the top of our list the next time we visit the city. read more

Fantastic spot - BYOB, incredibly authentic and hospitable. Food is outstanding, it's like having a home cooked Moroccan meal. Their garlic sauce and their chili sauce are out of this world. I'd honestly recommend everything on the menu but specifically the Atlas chicken, Falafel and their homemade hummus. The baklava is to die for. You cannot go wrong though. Amazing service and exceptional food. My friend and I popped into Marrakech on a Friday night, and were not disappointed. We were waited on by the owner and his son, and they were so kind. We ordered the hummus as an app, and it was DIVINE. Perfectly seasoned and the pita was warm and super tasty. For mains, we got the chicken kebab and the Marrakech in Tagine. Terrible awful and very bad. -place smelled strongly and unappetizingly of cleaners upon entry - BYOB? Adds a $5 corkage per person whether everyone drinks or not and they don't uncork but leave a corkscrew on the table. Even getting the waiter to bring the right glasses to the table was a challenge. - dropped a small plastic bottle of water at each place instead of a glass of water. No glasses.( What is it with the glasses?) Environmentally awful and who wants to drink out of a bottle during a nice meal? -few veg options outside the appetizers. The "veggie" tagline had lamb which they said they could leave out, but I was still charged for the lamb. It was an expensive very basic dish. - food ok, nobody in the group seemed blown away -they added a 20% service fee. Maybe because we were 6 people but watch out! -waiter wouldn't make eye contact, acted like he was only grudgingly serving us -they bring lots of pita but you have to order and pay for couscous -very expensive for what it was. $270plus for 6 people with the corkage and service fees -watch out, some tagines come with a batch of french fries, not on the side but dumped on top of the meat. I've lived in this hood for a decade, and it's long overdue that we have a Moroccan restaurant in West Town/Noble Square. I'm glad that this is the first one, as it was fantastic. The staff was excellent- attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was even better. We had a chicken pastilla as an appetizer, which was new to us, and tasted great. The lamb couscous was spiced well, and the lamb was tender, exactly as it should be. The mixed kebab plate w/rice was tender and the harissa was nice and spicy. Everything was done well, and reminded me of what I've had in Rabat. The baklava for dessert was done perfectly. Oh, and the Moroccan tea was authentic as well. We will be back to try the tagine and falafel, which we saw other people eating, and it looked great. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

Authentic/tasty food and friendly staff. We went on a slow evening and after being immediately greeted by the host... it took about 5 minutes before waiter came by with menu code and water. He then waited on one of the other 2 tables in the place and again disappeared to the back. At this point, I was a bit confused about all the 5* reviews and concerned if we'd make it back to our kids in 2 hours when the sitter had to leave. But from the moment the waiter returns to take our order, everything was perfect. The fresh brewed mint tea tasted just I'd had in the bazaar in Marrakech. The appetizers and soup came out perfectly timed and the waiter returned multiple times to top off our supply of pita bread. The hummus was perfectly flavored and extraordinarily creamy. The "Marrakech Deal" which includes app spread of beets, eggplant, carrots, and spinach was outstanding. Every item was perfect in both flavor and texture. The Moroccan soup was delicious. Nothing special, but again the broth was simple but tasty, the chickpeas were crisp and the noodles Al dente. Lastly, we had both a chicken and a lamb tangine. Seasoning and flavors are perfect. The chicken was juicy and the lamb tender. The wait to get our check was again a bit long (a few more tables came in and staff was moving quickly ). But honestly it seems like there was just a family of 3 people working both front and back of the house. If you're not in a rush and have time to enjoy tea and apps for a while and bring a nice bottle of wine to relax and converse over dinner BYOB), I think you'll have an awesome experience. One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and hands down the best, most authentic Moroccan food! You can tell the food is made with the best ingredients and they take their time. I'm Moroccan myself so I was so excited to eat there because it's like I'm at my grandmothers house. The restaurant is family owned and they are SO sweet! My wife and I were very impressed with Marrakech. The food was consistently excellent; one of us had lamb shank tagine and the other had three appetizers (spinach dip, carrots in chermoula, and chicken b'stilla a.k.a. pastilla). Portions were generous, and that doesn't even include the complimentary pickled vegetables and olives and pita.The place is nicely done, with cloth tablecloths and napkins, Moroccan artifacts and photos on the walls, and Moroccan pop playing softly in the background. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Prices are quite reasonable and it's BYOB. Easy to get to on transit and parking is not a problem. Definitely worth going back to. read more

It was truly an authentic moroccan dining experience - I have visited Morocco on multiple occasions. The host, who I later realized was the owner, was so wonderfully warm, gracious, and inviting. While I didn't try any of the meat dishes (I'm a vegetarian), there were plenty of delicious non-meat options. I tried the Zalook, Taktouka, Carrots Ala Chermoula, Bakoula, veggie cigars, and falafel. They were all amazing and filling. We also got the mint tea which was great. The hospitality was also on point. You can tell that the family running this restaurant take great pride in sharing this food with their customers. We had an excellent meal here with friends a couple of days ago. The food is delicious and authentic (matches my memories of Morocco), and the service is warm and friendly.
