We came here for a family reunion, and it was amazing food and service. The ambiance was really great. Definitely exceeded our expectations! We did the family feast and it was great from the beginning to end. Highly recommend

We chose a variety of main courses, including lamb, vegetarian, chicken and kabobs to go with the rest of the courses. Everything was absolutely delicious. The pacing of the serving was perfect. Each course was great. The staff were friendly and welcoming. An absolutely wonderful dining experience but be forewarned that the seating is traditionally a tad low to the ground.

ucked away in Belltown, Marrakesh offers an authentic Moroccan dining experience that's hard to beat. The moment you step inside, the dim lighting, traditional decor, and plush seating transport you to a vibrant North African setting. But it's not just the ambiance that impresses--the food is truly the star. We sampled the spicy lamb, the lamb rack, grilled lamb kebab, all standout dishes that exemplifies Marrakesh's expertise. Each bite was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with a blend of spices that highlighted the meat's natural flavors. It's served with a side of fluffy couscous and vegetables, which complemented the dish well. If you're a fan of lamb, this is a must-try. The experience doesn't end with the food. The live belly dancing performances add an extra layer of excitement to the meal. The dancer we watched was incredibly talented, captivating the room with her fluid movements and vibrant costume. It's a delightful way to immerse yourself in the Moroccan atmosphere. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a unique dining experience in Seattle, Marrakesh is a wonderful choice. Great food, lively entertainment, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a memorable night out.

    1. Loved how the interior looked, really set the vibe for everything and made everything feel casual and comfortable 2. Yummy Lemon and Olive Chicken, my friends and I were just scooping spoonfuls of just the seasoning to eat. The couscous marrakesh lamb was also very delicious! Then we ended it off with their baklava and rice pudding which were very very yummy. We looked forward to the Turkish coffee the most and it was absolutely addicting. We drank three at 7pm lol 3. Okay service, had to time perfectly to catch a server's attention. But they're very kind nonetheless. 4. We made it just in time for the performance and the dancer was incredible! 5. Definitely recommend reserving for parties of 4+

All dishes are amazingly good. Very good cost performance. Nothing is too salty, feel healthy afterwards.

When you walk in, the ambience makes you feel like you stepped into a tent in Morocco. There is no window in the restaurant, and I would've never thought it's a such a different world inside. The server brought a kettle to wash your hands before meal. We got three free appetizers when we ordered the daily special. We got lamb shank and assorted kebabs, and they were delicious. There was even dessert and tea after the meal. The server was very attentive and respectful. Overall, it was a great experience!

A fantastic Moroccan restaurant in Belltown. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance is fantastic. To start, they wash your hands and then the 5 course dinner begins. The first course is the salad which was fresh and served with bread. Next was lentil soup which was flavorful. Then came B'stilla Royale which had a phyllo dough crust stuffed with ground chicken and spices topped with powdered sugar. I had the special of the day which was kababs, kofta, and basmati rice which all were very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The last course was a milk pudding served with mint tea. Every dish went perfectly with the next and it was a fantastic dinner. Overall, this is a great place to come for dinner and they also take reservations. I can't wait to come back soon and try more dishes.

I came here for Valentine's Day and it was an amazing experience. The food was delicious and the service & decor was spectacular. They started off with hand washing at the table by pouring rose water into your hands. There was a set 4 course meal and we made a reservation. 1. Salad with unlimited bread 2. Phyllo meat pie 3. Choice entree 4. Baklava I got the lamb for my entree and my bf got the chicken with pear. Both entrees were very good we just wish it came with rice or potatoes. My favorite dish was the phyllo meat pie, I've never had thin flaky crust like that before and it was delicious! There was also a belly dancing performance during our dinner which was a delightful surprise!

This is an excellent Moroccan Restaurant. The ambience makes you feel like you are in Morocco, and the food and service are incredible. I ordered chicken, spicy lamb and CousCous, all the food was incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant.

After a long day and a hurt knee my 13 YO Grandson and I went to this wonderful and beautiful place. You do wait a few seconds on arrival because they are doing such good service with the other guests. The staff was so friendly. Gave us great ideas. The dinner came with salad, appetizer, dessert. The mint tea was comforting and good with just the right sweetness. I have not eaten Moroccan food much everything we got was delicious I recommend the mixed grill. I don't normally eat a great deal I ate everything and cleaned the plate with the bread. Price was very reasonable.

I was beyond delighted by the service, food, and experience here. We just stumbled across this place. Firstly, there's a gorgeous tiled piece on the front facade of the restaurant. When you enter, the ambiance is dark, cozy, and homey. You're seated at low tables on small pouf/cushions. There's a 5 course meal option and a La carte menu. At first they only give you the 5 course meal option which honestly sounds like a good deal (all we're around 28-30 bucks). We grabbed a couscous dish and this dish that ended up being like a gourmet Moroccan hot pocket. All dishes were delicious. We shared two aka carte items between 3 people. Before we were served the server, a really kind person, washed our hands. We all put our hands over a beautiful silver basin looking thing and he poured water over them. Was truly looking for a quick dinner and had delightful immersive experience instead.

The 5 course meal experience, including a spiritual hand wash with your meal mates and belly dancers who've studied in the Middle East for entertainment (with an option to get up and learn). The decor: low tables/couches/stools, hanging lamps, bulgeoning ceiling sheets, tapestry. These transport you somewhere well outside of Seattle. Makes me want to travel. There was a lot of food, overall was decent, some new to me so I'd need to adjust my palate. Lamb lamb lamb. Well worth to try it at least once.

The purpose of this email is to request a partial refund of $40 for my friend and I each on our visit on May 23rd, 2026. The main reason for this request is that we did not know about the included gratuity in our bill. It was hard to notice this and consequently, after splitting the bill, my friend and I tipped an additional $40 each. First of all, imposing a mandatory gratuity is not industry standard. Just to make sure it's not me and it's you, I called six other restaurants nearby Itto's Tapas: Due Cucina, KinD, Pegasus, Lady Jaye, and Matador in West Seattle. None of them add a mandatory gratuity regardless of party size. However, when I called Shadowland they informed me they do add a gratuity for parties with 6 guests or more. We had only 5 guests and our receipt includes a line item for "large party." Five guests is not a large party and only requires one server. This demonstrates Itto is the only restaurant imposing a mandatory gratuity for groups of 5 in the area. We did not see this line item at the time and did not expect to have to audit the receipt for a practice that is not industry standard nor were we a large party. Furthermore Itto's own website describes itself as "softly lit" making it hard to see the receipt. Also, we generously ordered many items from your menu making it even harder to see the "large party" scam line on a receipt with so many words on it. Finally, we were socializing and listening to each other's stories and not reviewing the bill with a fine tooth comb. Next, your server lacked the proper manners to inform us of the included gratuity nor did she thank us for the 20% we already paid for. She was not a mute and capable of using her voice to inform me that Itto does not accept the Discover credit card I originally tried to pay with and that Itto only accepts Visa and Mastercard. Therefore it's reasonable to conclude she was purposely omitting to tell us that the gratuity was already paid for when she returned with the second receipt. Next, we thanked our server several times when she took our order, brought our food and drinks, and when she refilled our water. It would behoove your staff to be as thankful as the guests they are serving. Saying "thank you for the 20% tip you already paid me" would be the right and polite thing to do. It's shameful and poor manners to omit gratitude for a gratuity paid. Minimum wage in Seattle is $21.30 and our included gratuity was $60.30, almost triple that. That is more than enough for a job that does not require an advanced degree and the student loans that come along with one. Instead, our opportunistic server with poor manners collected an additional $80 for a total gratuity of $140.30 for about one hour of work. Given a subtotal of $301.50, that amounts to 47%. Do you ever tip that much when you go out to eat? No, that is an absurd amount. The service did not amount to that. I've been to a restaurant where the silverware is changed and the servers scoop the crumbs from the white linen tablecloth before every course. We did not get this kind of 5 star service at all. Instead we were taken advantage of. Please return the $40 to my card and to the card that my friend used to pay the bill at your restaurant on Saturday night. I've included a photo of the itemized and final receipt for you to find the transaction.

But Tanoor is kind of like that special someone who has been there your whole life but you've always looked past for greener pastures. This restaurant was staring me right in the eyes for years, and I didn't realize how magnificent it was until today. When you walk in you are greeted by warm, fresh and fluffy pita. Guess what, IT COMES WITH THE MEAL! Everyone knows I'm a sucker for some free bread. But don't let these Lebanese pillows fill you up, the dip marathon has just begun. The menu here is unlike anything I've ever seen. You can get lost trying to figure out what to order for lunch, so I would advise consulting the waitstaff for guidance through this delightful maze. I just looked on their menu to figure out what the fries that I ate were called, and I can't find them for the life of me. But they had their own incredible dip completely covering them. At one point we had 4 different dips on the table, and I'm not sure how they got there. 1) The dip on the fries 2) Spicy hummus (not that spicy, incredibly tasty) 3) Za'tar that comes with the pita 4) Yogurt sauce that came with the Kabob combo Everything comes with something else here. And since I was having an electric conversation with my good friend, I sort of lost track of everything that we ordered. I highly recommend the combo for two to three people as you get a variety of different appetizers and all of the main kabobs. However, a couple of things that really made this experience mediocre. First, the meat was overcooked even though I asked for medium rare. Most of the meat came out medium well. The rice was undercooked and hard when you bit into it. The server could have been more attentive.. didn't come back to check on us, even though the restaurant wasn't super busy. The biggest disappointment is that this establishment passes on a 5% fee to help pay for their staff's benefits. They stay it's optional and they can take it off but it's very distasteful. The owner should reconsider this and build this expense into the pricing of their menu. Otherwise their wait staff is going to feel slighted when customers leave less tip because of this additional fee. Overall, this is a solid place, but the experience was just average considering all aspects, and therefore the three star rating.

I haven't had much West African food in the past so when we were looking for some new food to try…read moreout over the weekend, we came across Bantaba. As other reviews state, this is kind of a strange restaurant that seems more like it's for regulars rather than new customers. There's no actual printed menu other than hints of a menu on the signboard above the register (and we confirmed this with the cashier). I guess this is to save on cost, which coincidentally also allows them to adjust pricing on the fly? There are photos posted of the menu from 2024, but my guess is those are of an old pre-COVID menu, given that the prices increased over 50% at this point. Per other reviews, dine-in orders are also packaged in takeout boxes and can take a variable amount of time to cook. We don't usually get takeout much, but decided to call in an order for this visit. This was at around 5PM on Saturday and we were promised a 30 minute wait. We arrived 30 minutes later, paid for the order, and it ended up taking about another 10 minutes. Not too bad. Benechin Beef ($18.99) - As I learned, benechin is essentially a different term for the more commonly known (at least in the US) jollof rice. In this case, the rice has a deep tomato and spiced umami that combines a pleasant saltiness with a heat level that builds and builds. It's topped with a small side of cabbage that seems to be stewed in the same spices as the rice. There's then a piece of yucca root, stewed but still rather toothsome with fiber strands all in one direction like muscle grains. For the beef, they include four pieces of thinly sliced barbecued meat. The meat is extremely flavorful with what seems to be a black pepper and allium based spice mixture. In terms of texture, it's quite tough and chewy, almost to the level of beef jerky. (4/5) Afra Lamb ($20.99) - This dish comes with a choice of rice or salad, not both as the older menu states. We went with the rice which comes in a smaller container and is a long grain rice cooked until perfectly fluffy. It's cooked with salt, which is something that I'm not used to. The larger container includes a mound of bone-in lamb meat doused in a savory and tangy mustard based sauce. The meat is a very interesting mixture of off-cuts, a combination of cross-cut ribs, shanks, lamb chops, and some random other cuts. The lamb is mostly bone in and there are tons of small bone shards all over the meat, making it a bit of a pain to eat. The meat isn't very gamey and all and is much more tender as compared to the beef jerky in the benechin. On top of the lamb, they include mustard infused softened onions and whole quick-charred onion rings, resulting in a still crunchy texture. They include some powdered dried chilis is a small pile hidden under the onions. Be careful - it's starts out smoky like paprika to start and the heat only starts to build after a couple of seconds. (4/5) Bantaba is a great place to try some new food. While it's not the most beginner friendly restaurant, it offers some flavors and dishes that are hard to find around Seattle.
