Tried The Nook Breakfast Spot for the first time. Located on PCH in Lomita in large plaza that has Cold Stone Creamery next door, Dollar Tree and Grocery Outlet in the same. Plenty of parking on a Sunday morning. We were warmly welcomed in by the staff and given our choice to sit anywhere. They were moderately busy with customers dining in and outside. Whenever having breakfast somewhere new to me, I like to try a basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a starch. Since they offer homemade biscuts, decided to give that a try. Hubby chose the green chilaquiles plate and OJ. He said it was about 3.5 stars. My plate looked and tasted good however I was surprised that the 2 eggs appeared to be 1 egg. The server was OK with getting another egg. Overall, my plate was about 3.5 stars. The service is kind and welcoming. Their soundtrack is upbeat and ecclectic. They do offer lunch specials Monday through Friday from 12PM to 3PM which is their closing time. Breakfast/brunch is so competitive in the South Bay. There is a place in Torrance that the hubby and I frequent regularly and they set the bar high. (You can probably guess what place that is from my regularly posted photos from there.) Came here for breakfast; the place was busy, but we were seated within minutes of arriving. The Nook is located facing PCH in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. We all ordered different Skillets, Instead of writing about each one, I will say that all five of us were satisfied and thought they were all good. The Nook has what you like. I will point out that the skillets are not black cast iron; they come in white porcelain, shaped like a skillet but looking more like a plate. We did order Strawberry pancakes, which we shared. Finally got to try this spot out as it's been on mh to try list for ages. It's in a huge shopping plaza so there's ample amount of parking. We got one right in the front :) There's inside seating and outside but we opted to sit outside as it was a bit stuffy inside. We ordered the shredded beef southwest skillet and marinated steak eggs Benedict and I def recommend the steak Benedict's over the skillet as the skillet came out with a skillet shaped glass plate and also the shredded beef portion was tiny and dry and the house potato on the bottom is covered with the same sauce. So for $2 more you get steak. I'm glad my wife chose that (the waitress recommended that over the sweet breakfast) Overall: food was decent and am glad another place crossed off my list. This place has become one of our favorite places for both of us for breakfast or brunch. This was our first visit to the Nook Breakfast Spot. Conveniently located on PCH and Narbonne this restaurant is only open until 3 PM every day serving up breakfast lunch items and brunch items. The service is fantastic the coffee is delicious. I always Judge a breakfast place by its coffee. The ambience is that of a small diner. By looking around, this seems to be a lot of regulars that come to this place. I found the Nook Breakfast Spot while looking for breakfast near me. The original place we were going to was closed so TNBS came in clutch. I ordered the marinated steak Benedict with home fries. All I can say is delicious! My sister ordered strawberry banana pancakes breakfast and she really liked it. Service was great and the prices were reasonable. Coming here with family was such a successful breakfast experience. The food was delicious and filling as their portions are actually large. Good for take home food! There was a slight wait upon our arrive but understandable due to them having great reviews! We patiently waited. Our food was fresh, hot and delicious for the most part. The only thing we were disappointed on is the 'original' eggs Benedict came with sliced ham, luncheon meat. Menu says 'Canadian bacon', so thats what we were expecting. Maybe they ran out ‍ I can say on the positive note that the hollindaise sauce was delish! Hard to even cut with a knife. I put some of the salad dressing in it to make it easier to eat. The turkey was really chewy. Not good. I proceed to eat my salad and at the bottom of the bowl is a lot of water. A soggy mess. However the other entree which was a senior country special was great. True to its name, this is a great spot for breakfast! The tall windows allow the morning sun to shine throughout the space. The room is generally utilitarian with basic chair and table pairings and a little bit of artistry in the maps on the walls. Food was a little hit and miss. Came on a Saturday around 10am and we were able to immediately sit which was nice because I was anticipating a long wait for Saturday brunch rush. It started to get busy right after we sat. Our server was very sweet and quick! The manager looked super attentive and was constantly helping out tables and cleaning which is always nice to see. We got our food quick! Was pretty busy on New Years Eve morning. We got sat quickly outside, just a bummer that they weren't able to turn the heaters on due to running out of propane. WOW!!! I'm not gonna lie. We waited a little bit longer than expected, but it was totally worth it and I will do it over and over and over and over again. I'll wait an hour for this food. It was so damn good! OMG. The corned beef hash is the best. The strawberry banana buttermilk pancakes were absolutely divine. The chorizo skillet blew the socks off my girl and I got super jealous, and I wanted to fight the owner because nobody blows the socks off my girl besides me.
