Such a wonderful experience during my visit to Marston's. We were looking for a breakfast spot close to our hotel and stumbled upon a hidden gem. We were seated promptly and greeted by such friendly staff. We had our cat in her carrier backpack and they were very accommodating. I had their two egg breakfast with bacon and eggs but for my bread choice, I asked for corn tortillas and they were able to make that change! The potato's were great, the bacon was juicy and crispy. We had such a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back in the future!

I was in Pasadena when a friend recommended this place for breakfast so we gave it a try. We tried the breakfast sandwich, andouille omelette and pancakes. The omelette was tasty and the potatoes were yummy but were loaded with onions, so if you're not into onions beware. The pancakes were okay. Service was fast and the ambience was calm for a Sunday morning.

Cute old-fashioned diner - reliable, predictable American food, filter coffee, friendly staff and friendly patrons. All happy. No extravagant stuff, no extravagant expectations.

Marston's is a cool little restaurant with a chill vibe. Went there for breakfast with friends. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon and it was delicious. Our server was prompt and courteous.

Came here for a quick breakfast for lunch on a Thursday at 1:00 p.m. it was quick service in and out and delicious. It was pretty no nonsense and got to the point. The menu was extensive but the French toast was supreme. The staff was super nice and quick. They have their own little parking lot which is nice too. It's got loud diner vibes but that's what I expected. There is a nice patio out front and on the side as well if you want to sit outside. I would definitely come back and travel the menu if I lived nearby. It was the perfect breakfast

They offer a split plate fee--this is half an andouille omelette.

Omelette was not what I expected, but good! The big chunks of andouille sausage were nice--not mealy or bland as this type of sausage can be. The offer a split fee, which I love because the portions are huge. The service was kind and the vibe is simple and clean and pleasant.

Marston's is a great neighborhood spot. The service is excellent! It was my first time going but I felt like I was a regular. All the staff were so nice and attentive! All the food was solid. The blueberry pancakes were nice and fluffy and the bacon wasn't too salty. I am looking forward to trying their french toast next time!

My brothers and I had gone to our usual spot Russel's on Fair Oaks, but we were treated so poorly that we decided to come to Marston's. Here, we had a great breakfast. The service was fabulous, the food was delicious, the dinning room was comfortable. Everything about the experience was amazing.

Don't normally give a 5star but they earned it. Staff were amazing. Location is great and it has a true small cafe feel. I ordered the powerhouse omelette and it was a home run. Perfect amount of food and tasted outstanding. It is an egg white veggie omelette and came with fresh fruit and toast and it was all great down to the last bite. 100 percent coming back when I am in the area next.

Nice place for a bite. However, the food is fine, just not amazing. Be sure to ask for a soft scramble omelet if you don't want to be served an omelet where the egg is cooked well done. Service was excellent and friendly. That was a plus. Parking lot is small, so may have to find street parking nearby.

Definitely one of the most popular breakfast restaurants in all of Pasadena. It's very laid-back and you feel as if you are eating inside someone's home. The wait times are never as long here as some other restaurants close by but also it's not the best option in town. Russell's, a few blocks away, is the best breakfast in Pasadena in my opinion, but Marston's is still worth visiting. They have an extremely tiny and narrow parking lot with free parking otherwise it will be street parking. They have a fairly large menu filled with a lot of good options and our server was very polite. Inside is not very large and just has table seating, there is not a counter. The food here is good, but not great. For my first visit I chose the special - Crab Cake Benedict and thought it was just OK. The crabcakes did not have as much flavor as I had recently and I really did not enjoy the side of potatoes. I would suggest offering hashbrowns instead. I also felt it was a bit overpriced for what we got in return and honestly I don't think I would visit again given the other breakfast options close by.

Came here with some coworkers on Wednesday afternoon for lunch. Luckily it wasn't too busy and got seated quick inside. The place is small but feels very homey. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Texas chili omelette. The portion was very generous! The chili had a great homemade taste. It went very well with the potatoes it came with. The only downfall is the parking. It's very limited but it's worth the walk if you have to park far.

I was very impressed with the overall customer service. Now it makes sense why they have been in business for 100 years. The true test was trying out some basic dishes to see how good the food is. Pancake, 1/2 order of French toast, and of course a half an order of biscuits and gravy topped with scrambled eggs. The pancake was soft and fluffy. It was so good I really wanted to fold it up to eat as a taco, but I didn't want to be judged. It was so good that it left me wanting to risk all my manners. The French toast was excellent. Each bite was consistently delicious, well made and great flavor. The half order of biscuits and gravy paired with scrambled eggs is excellent. The biscuits were delicious, the gravy had a great rosemary taste, and the gravy is a bit on the thinner side. Personally it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It was still delicious. What would have made my simple meal perfect was coffee with creamer. They only serve half and half. Not a deal breaker but I prefer creamer giving it a true diner feel to it. Still giving 5 stars because the service and food was perfect. Thank you again! Definitely will be back!

So we were able to kill time until then! Located next to Honey & Lavender, parking lot available in the back, not that small! Once seated, we got to order the California Benedicts and the Country Fried Steak. It actually didn't take too long for our order to arrive, which we were surprised they are very quick and efficient with service! Although, the food was very underwhelming. California Benedict was pretty basic, or just the bare minimum actually. It was okay, ingredients don't really stand out. My bf's country fried steak, he was disappointed that the steak didn't even look fried. He wasn't really a fan of his order lol. I thought the potatoes were pretty decent, although I wish they were cut smaller into like breakfast potatoes. They were so chunky, but also wish they could be fried more. Overall, I feel like we chose the wrong items from this place lol, but these were the items highlighted on the Yelp page? Maybe it didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen or a cart full of dirty dishes bc I just kept smelling that as we were eating.

When I ordered a matcha, the employee asked if regular milk was okay, and I said oat milk was fine. However, I was never informed that oat milk was an additional $1 charge. I only wanted to spend around $5-$6, so I asked if I could get a small instead. I was surprised to see that the price was still the same. When I asked why, she then explained that oat milk was a $1 up charge and she didn't charge me on the large order for oatmilk. I don't mind paying the extra dollar, but I feel customers should be informed about an additional charge before being charged for it. Also, if getting a large was actually the better deal, I would have appreciated being told that. What made the interaction more frustrating was that the employee seemed distracted and dismissive while her coworker was talking to her. I ended up getting the small, even though I was confused about the pricing. The matcha itself was good, but unfortunately, because of the customer service experience, I don't think I'll be returning. I don't expect anything special--just clear communication about pricing and to be asked what size I'd like before being charged.

Despite its popularity, I find the food to be fairly average. Much of it tastes like it's made from standard commercial food-service ingredients rather than prepared fresh. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.
