    Lobster roll

I am surprised by so many negative reviews. They must have really stepped up their game recently because my experience was very good. The lobster roll is HUGE for $26 and tasted very fresh. The old bay fries are also very good. The interior isn't much to write home about so I wouldn't come here if I was looking for more of a vibe but if you are looking for a hot lobster roll I can't think of many other places with these portion sizes for the price. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive.

$44 for 1.5 lbs of snow crab legs and corn?! I'll take it. It was awesome. Would also recommend the lobster roll. We had great margaritas, and the cooked garlic cloves that they serve with bread is really memorable and delicious. We really love their private dining area in the back overlooking the ocean, which I am guessing not many people know about since every year that we go here, it doesn't seem that busy despite being there in July. It's definitely the hidden gem on the boardwalk. Cons: air conditioning was weak so it was pretty warm in there. Service was a little slow despite being one of seven tables. And the bathrooms are located in the tiki bar, so be prepared to share them with many self indulgent (drunken) patrons who have been at the beach all day.

Broiled seafood platter- good for people who don't like to get messy cracking fish apart.

When the food and service is good- I'm willing to overlook the fact that the inside of the restaurant looks like it hasn't been updated in 30 years. The seafood was fresh and delicious! The Lobster Mac and cheese was so good! Ordered it as a main for my daughter but it was too much for her so we ate it like a family style side dish. The prices were reasonable and it's right off the beach. We had ocean view seats and it's pretty causal so they can accommodate you if your dragging sand in your bathing suit from the beach or if your freshly dressed. I forgot what treat this place was. Definitely recommend s sitting here.

This was my first experience at this location. I enjoyed the DJ playing outside with the crowd enjoying themselves. Others may not enjoy it as much, but I am young and cool. They over bread at the table which was actually a highlight. I really enjoyed the spices on the bread. The Lobster and Shrimp meal I enjoyed. I do wish more shrimp was on the plate. Fries were ok but they not fresh cut. For a boardwalk, I feel everyone should fresh cut. My wife's meal was a lobster roll and it was a nice size portion and was tasty. Overall, this was a great experience. I would go back again, but it won't be every time I hit the boardwalk. Try it once.

Don't eat here. They're horrible. It's summer... Sunday 5:00. I live here 30 years. The past three times I've gone here to eat there are ridiculous restrictions. Patronizing this place for years - sometimes a party of the 15 or more. Can't go in until my entire party is here. OK well can you just give me the table for five please and I'll start ordering appetizers for everyone ...no we can't do that. OK then I'll wait for the rest of my party. Can we at least have a table up against the wall or out of the way because we have a stroller. No strollers are not allowed. OK but the place is completely empty. No sorry that's our policy. OK so there are no exceptions? that's fine, The place is almost COMPLETELY empty (only 1 table full in the entire place) you just lost about $400 to $500 in business tonight. Have a good evening. We won't be back again. Ever.

We were really impressed by the location. The Food shack is located right on the beach which is the perfect way to enjoy a lunch on a Summer day in Point Pleasant. They have lots of umbrellaed outdoor seating, and some benches in the sun, so there are options for everyone. They also have some indoor seating, and the inside is adorable. We ordered a swiss grilled cheese with tomato on top, and a BLT. Each item came with pickles and a bag of chips. Each item was priced reasonably, especially considering typical Jersey Shore pricing. My grilled cheese was great. The bread/cheese/tomato ratio was perfect. The cheese was gooey, and stayed gooey even as the sandwich cooled. The bread on the grilled cheese was crispy on the outside and still soft and warm on the inside. I didn't know what to expect from a small shack on the beach, especially with something as simple as a grilled cheese, but I really enjoyed it. The BLT also had a gread tomato/bacon/lettuce/mayo ratio and wasn't too greasy. Overall I will definitely be coming back!

I've always heard good things, and I thought the food stood up to the reputation. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night, which was probably a good sign for what led to a delicious meal. I really enjoyed the roasted oysters topped with yummy breadcrumbs. My daughter enjoyed a sushi appetizer and wedge salad with blackened tuna that she claimed was delicious as well. Our other dinner partner enjoyed his halibut. I really loved the show-stopping, gigantic jumbo lump crab meat risotto. It was very filling, but super delicious. The food was rich and, in some ways, basic, but executed perfectly. I added some of the street corn and that really made things even better get this dish. You won't be disappointed. The atmosphere was busy, if not hectic. Our table was in the middle of the room, next to a large family with little kids. One was seven months old and the other was two. That seemed like a bit much for a dinner with these price points. It's not an inexpensive restaurant and certainly not a family-vibe Houlihan's. We had mixed feelings about the atmosphere, but I kind of thought it was cool--a really pretty building with some rustic charm.

Hostesses (x2 because evidently seating people is a 2 person job - although neither girl could formulate a full sentence). 8:30pm Sunday - "there are only seats at the bar; we've stopped seating outside". Management. If this is true GREAT you have some monotone bland children holding down the fort. If you want business and your staff to work - I'm sad to say they turned down a nice group of 30-50 year olds ON A MONDAY (which is huge for us). Lackluster. Lazy. Underwhelming. Find some more chipper front of house staff. Maybe anyone who looks up from their phone first and knows to say hi and welcome!

We brought two bottles of wine, and the white was put in a chilled bucket right away. Just a note for anyone not familiar with BYOB restaurants in New Jersey: if they don't have a liquor license, the servers can't pour your wine. I don't mind pouring my own, so it wasn't an issue. The meal started with an amuse-bouche: two sips of tomato soup with a bruschetta crostini. It was a nice way to begin. One of the standout dishes was the breaded pork chop stuffed with prosciutto and cheese, served with a cognac mushroom sauce. My spouse gave me a bite, and it was one of the best I've had this summer. The pork was juicy with just a little pink, and the combination of flavors worked really well. I'm still thinking about it. We also had the tuna tower with soy sauce, ginger, horseradish, and wasabi. It was fresh and nicely presented. I ordered the foie gras (before you bash me, read Foie Gras Wars by Mark Caro and then decide )It was paired with a poached pear and simply prepared. I would have liked a slice of French toast, brioche (a girl could dream), but when I mentioned it, our server brought crostini, which worked fine. Chef Bass was out on the floor greeting guests and bringing out plates. He has really terrific energy. Bistro by Bass is a great dinner date spot and I also observed many larger tables having shared food. Next time, I'll order the pork chop for myself. I also saw several orders of escargot go by that looked really good. I wish I got the tableside bananas Foster. I've had it before there and it was fabulous! I ordered the almond Amarado gelato that tasted like a delicious almond joy, coconut, and almond crunches throughout. (my dinner partner hates coconut and chunky ice cream so he wasn't "NO", but I thought it was great!) From what I could tell, other tables were enjoying their meals too. The pricing was fair, the atmosphere was lively, and I'd go back.

We just felt like they were not super accommodating; they would have been fine putting a protein on the plate with no sides and calling it a day. Though our meal was very good.
