Service: On a good day, you'll get barely adequate service. Most of the time, the wait staff acts like they are doing you a favor. Atmosphere: On a warm summer night, there is no rival in Nashua to sitting outside, drinking some great beer, and people watching. If you want a good beer, and can put up with the hit or miss (mostly miss) service, go to Martha's. If you want a good meal or good service, go elsewhere. Went on Saturday for first time. Absolutely loved the nachos and the French onion Salmon was perfectly AMAZING!!! Nice Decor / Atmosphere Great for sitting and talking to people for long periods of time without getting interupted. Dont worry your waitress / server is virtually non existant. Selection is sparse, with little vegetarian options and even less vegan options. Price is too much for the quality and quantity of the food. The candy shop is great, and the microbrewed beers are Exceptional. That would be the real reason to visit this establishment, to eat candy while drinking the house beers in a nicely decorated room where you are almost never interupted by your waitress. read more

We entered this place with high expectations, especially since it looked so beautiful and cozy inside. The wait staff was very friendly and nice. Having said that, they are only half of the equation, the other half is the food itself. We started off with the Nachos as an appetizer. As you can see in the pictures attached to this review (http://imgur.com/a/3Uch4) , the guacamole was brown rather than green (compare it to the green lettuce and green pain on the plate), not to mention it was watery. The actual choice of chips for the nachos left alot ot be desired as well, since it seemed the used the last pieces at the bottom of the chips bag because they we are crumbled in the bottom and they just used the big pieces on top to mask it. It became a very very messy nachos, not to mention not all the cheese were melted, you can see some flakes on top ( not sure if that was on purpose, but any cheese on nachos should be melted) As for our main meal, we got two burgers, both medium. One came out well done, the other one, well, some say if you put your ears close to it you can still hear the cow mooooo :) . Again, the pics are attached and you judge for yourself, the wait staff even said " That's disgusting", to which i replied " you said it not me". This really ruined the meal for us, by the time they came to check on us, we had already split the well done burger and were finishing the fries, and didnt feel like waiting x amount of time for them to give us a new burger. Let me say this, our waitress was a sweetheart, she was very attentive and took the burger off of our bill, however, i feel as an establishment, they failed. They served us a food that is health hazard. If my bf had not told me to cut into the burger (because it was a handful), i wouldnt have noticed it and possibly gotten sick. For a situation like this i felt like the manager should at least come out and try to show they care. Its not about the money, my bf offered to pay for that burger just so we can get out of that place ASAP, although the waitress took the burger off our bill, that wasnt very good customer service as an establishment, they simply didnt charge us a food which they failed to cook up to par with health standards and our order, so i dont see the big deal for not charging us for a food i couldnt eat. A manager shouldve came and ATTEMPTED to make things right, even offer us a cup of coffee or a dessert (which they have a good chocolate/dessert stand). Nice spot with a cute outdoor patio area. Nice home brewed beer options. Wish I had tried the taster as all the varieties sounded really good. We had lunch which was pretty standard sandwich items. 1 kid had chicken tenders which were really good. Real chicken instead of the standard issue frozen flat tenders. Other items were chicken salad wrap, cubano, and roast beef panini. All were good. Nothing mind blowing. Sweet potato fries and onion rings were cooked perfectly. Parking can be a problem and the meters are only good for 90 minutes. read more

I love their home brews, I had they pumpkin beer cocktail with Stoli Vanill Vodka in it YUM tasted like pie! I however was not the biggest fan of their thanksgiving sandwich I wish I had just gone with the lamb salad but at the moment I was so hungry I was willing to eat anything. The waitress was sweet, though forgetful and we had to flag her down several time for beverages and items we were missing from our meals. Then there is the candy stand which it beautiful and I would have totally been willing to buy a ton if the blonde working the counter didnt seem totally irritated that I was asking the flavor becasue over hanf of them didnt have signs, sorry ma'am that I was curious and wanted to know what im about to spend 2$+ on a single chocolate. Probably really a 2 1/2. On a recent Saturday afternoon, I stopped in for a burger and beer. Both were fine, though hardly exceptional, though the burger (the California burger) was enormous, yet it was stingy on the promised avocado-infused mayonnaise. My last couple bites were sensational, but where was that condiment throughout the burger? Still, food quality was fine (even with ordinary french fries; at least they were warm and crispy). The reason for the lower-than-before score was the service. Once it came, it was pleasant and professional, but I was at the bar (with only a smattering of other customers) for a good 10 minutes before anyone asked me what I wanted to drink. It appeared the woman who ended up waiting on me had just arrived for her shift, but there were no fewer than four other bartenders or other staff flitting about, one of whom spent all her time chatting interminably to one couple who were apparently friends or regulars. I didn't see her do any sidework, even. Maybe she's the owner's daughter or girlfriend. I agree with another review who said the place is sorely in need of an upgrade. I sat right next to an expansive crack in the bar and the nightclub part of the place, frankly, looks like a dump. Good looking staff can only camouflage so much. So, in sum: Good (though hardly exceptional) food. Extremely attractive staff. Mostly nice atmosphere (except for one area of the bar). Service at the bar rated a "D" at first, though improved to a "B"; better luck in the restaurant side. I went there a couple weeks ago for lunch, mid afternoon. I liked the premise of the restaurant although, I did not walk inside. Outdoor seating was somewhat adequate with a type of faux wrought iron seating and tables with beach umbrellas. (Which almost fell on my boss.) The service was less than adequate for my opinion. And because it did not seem super busy, the lack of enthusiasm and speed in which in the greeting and presentation of menus left me less than happy. Now don't get me wrong, I was going out for a burger... which: I ordered the "California" Burger, cooked to medium rare with what they called "chips/pub fries." What I got was a an unseasoned meat patty cooked to order with melted american swiss cheese, bacon, piled with tomato, onion and this odd pickle/avocado concoction on a flowered bakers bulkie roll. I have to say, that this burger fell way short. It had the potential to be a great burger. It had the potential to be a fantastic burger. But the combination of flavors were so conflicting that it was not something that I would dare to eat again. read more

We brought a large group of friends and were really excited to return to Martha's. The food was still good, but the service was so dismal I don't think we'll be back. The waitress asked at the beginning of the meal if we'd like separate checks, which we hadn't even considered but since she asked, we said that would be helpful. One friend commented "wow, you're gonna get a great tip" to which she rolled her eyes and stomped off. Huh?? The whole meal she had an attitude, I don't know what it was. We said we were sort of in a rush, and to bring out anything as it was ready. We also asked for our checks to be brought out with our entrees so we could pay while we were eating. The food came out very slowly, which gave her plenty of time to sort out the checks, but somehow it still took her until we had all finished our meals before we could even track her down to ask for them again. She angrily handed out individual checks, 3 of the 8 being incorrect, and snarled when we expected her to fix the mistakes. We ended up with indigestion from eating so quickly and a bad taste in our mouths from the whole experience. There is no reason for a waitress to be so rude to a group of paying customers. People were still talking about her two days later and trying to figure out what her problem was. But judging by the other reviews, I don't think this was just an off night. read more

Went here a few weeks ago for the first time and was rather impressed. Next time I plan to buy some of the Hefeweizen to take home with me. They have a great selection of micro brews (as this place doubles as a microbrewery in addition to a great place to eat). The burgers are FANTASTIC. I mean when I ordered the burger it was because I was feeling a little cheap (and the wallet was a little low) but man that was a great burger. The beer selection is seasonal with a couple staples that never leave the menu. The martinis will knock you off your ass and reasonably priced. They also have ladies night on Thursdays which is always nice for every second person in the world. This place is great to go for dinner, for a date, to head to the bar for some drinks, for whatever you want. It's awesome. read more

What a cute place with a great menu! I stopped in here for lunch around noon midweek and sat myself on the patio. There weren't a ton of people but as we got closer to 1o'clock the patio and the inside seemed to fill up. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered the Greek Lamb Salad (Field greens, feta, tzatziki, kalamata olives, tomatoes, cucumbers). It was one of the most tasty salads I have ever had. Visited Martha's Exchange last night for a birthday celebration. We were very happy with our visit. Cocktails at the bar were very good and the service was great. Waitress was attentive to our group, she made good recomendations and was knowledgeable about the menu choices. The food was very good, I had the scallops and they were outstanding. Martha's Exchange is a fixture in downtown Nashua. I am seeing a lot of complaints about the new menu, but I think the new menu is great! The pulled pork quesadilla is excellent, the jambalaya is awesome, the chowder is spectacular, the wasabi steak is mouth [and eye] watering. My one menu complaint goes to the buffalo chicken tenders, they are delicious but 4 little pieces of chicken doesn't go too far. Moving on... The staff at Martha's Exchange is my favorite part! The bartenders are all as friendly as it gets and are hot from the youngest to oldest. Chris and Billy, the owners, are both great! They'll come and take a seat right next to you and carry on a conversation as if you are and have been the best of friends for years. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Martha's turns into a mild nightclub type atmosphere with a good mix of every type of up-beat music you can think of. Nightclub Review I've been here with a fairly large group (8+) on a Friday night, and it was pretty fun. They do close down at 1AM though, so that's a bit of a buzzkill for the people who are having a good time. Music is pretty industry standard, mostly Top-40. Drinks are good, you can actually taste the alcohol in them. Careful with the people though, there are some less than desirable people here (as with any club) with even less manners. If you brush it off your shoulders, you'll see that a lot of people here are just looking to have a good time. Lots of TVs. Loud Music. Good drink selection. This is my daughter's favorite restaurant. She is vegetarian and often has a hard time ordering out. Most places toss on a sad pasta dish and a few salads and call themselves vegetarian friendly. Martha's Exchange is a great place for her to eat. She loves the large selection of salad, but also the spanikopia and the grilled veg appetizers are her favorites. I have never had a bad meal here. Once the brought me the wrong version of what I ordered, I ate it without sending it back and loved even that meal. My go to on a hot day here is sitting outside with a sangria and the Mediterranean lamb salad. I have been here with larger groups, I have sent more than one person here on a date.. it is a lovely spot that is relaxing and always good. Sitting outside or in it is a great night out. read more

One of my favorite seasonal pastimes is to sit at one of Martha's outdoor tables, enjoy a light breeze, and drink in the wonderment. This restaurant is the proverbial first stop in a C.S. Lewis-style wardrobe closet. Step through the flower planters and over the parked cars. Walk several paces. Then you reach a wonderful place. Last night I was reuniting with a friend from grade school. We had not seen each other in over a decade, so I decided to make this the place we would meet. We took a seat here and enjoyed conversation and drinks. Our waitress knew what to get for me. I requested a Belgium so she brought out something hoppy and home-brewed. Later on after the outside closed my friend and I ended up inside. At the bar we had the opportunity to converse with one of the chefs. He was very friendly and receptive. We exchanged background information and he told stories about his formal education at culinary school. Burgers and libations were tasty and the pleasant exchanges with the staff reinforced a memorable evening. read more

I have many great memories of Martha's. I remember them before they expanded and were a much smaller restaurant. I used to, on occasion, go here during my lunch breaks from the Nashua Public Library. Since I was part time- that usually didn't happen- but every so often. I think I even might have gone here with my mother's mother when she was still alive. The place is very different now - it's double the size - and you can clearly see the brewing contraptions where they make the beer. The bar, if tonight was any indication, is as popular as ever as a post-work drinking spot. The menu is all different with the redesign as well. While I feel like Martha's has lost much of it's charm, I can still look around and remember the place as it was and enjoy the fact that it's still there. I also understand changing it up - they have to be relevant to survive. My old work pals Bruce M, Mandy A, and Charlie M were all in tow for tonight's fancy NPL-style dinner. It was a nice low-key evening; I had a feeling it wouldn't be too crowded on a Tuesday night (it wasn't), and people were generally quiet and not too drunk at 6:00 PMish in the evening. I got a salad, chicken caesar, which was pretty good. I also got a martini and a beer which I was pretty happy with. If you are trying out Nashua places, I really recommend this place for atmosphere over food- it's good for groups and tends to be nice in the evening. I like Michael Timothy's, but it gets pretty crowded some nights and tends to be less causual. I never liked Villa Banca any of the times I found myself there, so Martha's get the full rating. This restaurant was delicious! My boyfriend and I were on our way up to SpookyWorld in Litchfield, NH & decided that we would stop in Nashua, NH for dinner. We couldn't decided on a place to eat, and my boyfriend found Martha's Exchange. It only got 3.5 stars as a rating so I wasn't so sure how it was going to be, but the 4 star restaurants were a little pricey so we decided what the heck and chose Martha's Exchange to eat. I don't know why this restaurant only had 3.5 stars because it was delicious! I had a nice glass of wine and my boyfriend had a Pumpkin beer that they brew homemade right in the restaurant. Our table was a round table right next to the brewing equipment. The food came out in a timely fashion and was hot and delicious. We had calamari as an appetizer, and it came with sweet and sour sauce. I had the Jamaican haddock and my boyfriend had the greek steak tips dinner!! They were both very good, and we left full and happy. The service was great, and there is a candy shop right at the entrance with a bunch of chocolates and candy! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would love to come back next time we are in the area! read more

Full disclosure: I didn't try any of the beers so this review is purely on the food and service. There were four of us in our group and we were seated immediately, which is nice for a Friday night. Our server was very attentive and was always around asking if he could get us anything. We started with the nachos without the beef. They honestly reminded me of the school lunch nachos. Cheap chips, unmelted shredded cheese and one tiny container of salsa. Everyone at my table got the burgers and they really enjoyed them. The onion rings were amazing. They also do not fry their shellfish in the same oil as everything else which was nice because my boyfriend has a shellfish allergy. I got the vegetarian panini which was good. I've been here twice in the last year. The first time it was decent, the beer was fresh and food was above average. This time around the food was rather average the service was lame and the beer was not fresh. I tried the Octoberfest and the Double Bock both were flat. The DB had the 8% punch though. What a weird place. In the end the food was edible, and the beer was nice, but damn... what a weird place. You initially walk in to a great looking bar environment, with nice wait-staff, but then you look to your left and you find a sweets shop that would probably be more appropriately attached to an antique shop or circa-1950's soda shop. And then what's that? The music playing overhead is ballstastic easy-listening music/ smooth jazz. You walk in thinking you're getting some good pub grub, and craft beer in a relatively cool place, only to find out that this place is inconsistent, and confusing and really only worth going to pop a squat at the bar to have a quick drink... but bring your own music with headphones. read more

So I had a bad morning, I got up early on Saturday, went to do my laps and my bf dragged me from Wilton to Nashua to run errands. By almost 2:00 pm I was not in the best of moods but I had already picked out online what I would eat at Martha's and it had been an old favorite place in Nashua. I sometimes go to my art class on Main St. when I don't zoom it, so I don't have time to stop by Martha's but this Saturday I thought it would be a treat to sit on the patio facing Main St. Instead I was escorted to an ugly alley with a terrible view, that I would not have during my lunch feeding time. I said, "No, I'm not going to sit there", the pretty cold hostess just rushed off, I stood there outside thinking she was going to go look for another open table which we had passed a few...I'm standing next to the table where I thought we could sit after my boyfriend came from the bathroom (to which she had given directions to), next thing I see is this pretty face cold hostess escorting another couple to the table I was standing next to. I followed her in and I want to speak with your manager. She left the manager came I told her the situation, and told her I would never do this again. Her response was "that's extreme". Outstanding food and service! I had the angus burger with bacon. It had a salsa / guacamole topping that was spot on! Great flavor and a perfect lunch size considering I got it bunless. My associate had a chicken wrap that he said was perfect. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I've been a fan of Martha's for years. I love the menu -especially the Bistro selections. During the summer I enjoy sitting outside for lunch. The Panini sandwiches and sweet potato fries are superb. Inside the restaurant is cozy, dimly lit, and somewhat romantic (as long as you're away from the bar). I'm not a beer drinker, but everyone I've dined with has absolutely loved the beer. In addition to the brewery there's also a candy store inside. Three stars because they took a few items off the menu that I used to look forward to, and a lot of the menu items and candy are way too overpriced. read more
