Martha's Exchange is a great pit stop after you just jumped out a plane at 10000 ft. it's a quck ride from Pepperell. The beers here are pretty delicious. I wish I could remember the name of the one I tried which was 7.9% abv. It was really good. The Indian red head was good too. Don't bother asking the waitress for recommendations, my bf did and as soon as she said that the Uber pills is similar to Coors light/bud light, he went with everything she didn't know the taste of. The food here is really good and tasty. I had the sweet and sour chicken salad and that was dressed in fruit with a really light dressing. It was definitely entrée size but can be bought and shared as a small appetizer. My bf ordered the burger and that was really good. Great fries too. Prices here are cheap and a pint will run just under $5. Really nice décor and they also sell really good chocolates. read more

I haven't been to many restaurants in Nashua, but the two I've been to so far have been on target. Martha's Exchange had a wide selection on the menu: burgers, paninis, seafood, and other meats. I had the blackjack salmon and was very happy with it. Some friends of mine had the jambalaya and were satisifed, and if you're really hungry the mediterreanean plate gives you a lot of food. It wasn't even that busy when we ate there at around 8:30 on a Friday night. Does Nashua go to bed early or something? Not that I'm complaining, we didn't have to wait for our table. read more

I went here for lunch with a friend on Monday. Service was good. I had the roasted veggie panini, which had lovely eggplant, zucchini, red peppers, and fresh mozzarella... nice flavors and textures. I also ordered a side of the sweet potato fries, which were crispy and fluffy and utterly delightful. Why only three stars? Atmosphere. The booths are tired, torn and patched with duct tape that has long since let go. The bar side of the space still reeks of stale cigarette smoke, although New Hampshire outlawed smoking in restaurants years ago. The music was a bit too loud to be able to carry on a conversation at a comfortable volume...I felt like my friend and I had to raise our voices even though we were seated close to each other and the place wasn't crowded. read more

My 3 friends and I went for dinner last night. We sat outside in the renovated alley way which was an awesome space. We were really excited for a fun night together. After 20 minutes of sitting, the waitress passed us and over her shoulder asked if we would like waters. My friends were pleasant and said yes. I was thinking, "yeah and drinks and to place orders for food!" She returned with waters a while later and took drink orders. She returned a while later and took an appetizer order (which tasted amazing) but all of this spanned 1 hour of time. When app. was served we had no silverware and had to ask for some. Waitress did not return for our dinner order until AFTER the appetizer was eaten. We had to ask for dinner rolls which we saw on all of the tables around us. Here's how well she recorded our orders: 1.) Ordered Gorgonzola Balsamic Chicken, was served Gorgonzola Stuffed Chicken 2.) Ordered Ginger Salmon, was served Salmon Salad 3.) Ordered Burger no cheese add sautéed onion, was served Burger w/ cheese no sautéed onion When we brought it up with the waitress her response was, "the kitchen is going to kill me with all of these mistakes." We sent the burger and Gorgonzola Chicken back...my friend kept the salmon salad. Dinner took 2.5 hours...service was so slow! We asked for a desert menu which was never presented. Waitress then said it would be better to cash out with her and go into restaurant to pick from the display. She would meet us inside. We waited for 10 minutes and she never showed. We asked the bartender for help which he said he would find for us. However, NOBODY ever came over to acknowledge us, even after asking for service. (Perhaps waitress was mad? We left her $15 on a $143 bill which we decided was WICKED generous after looking at the total experience.) I should mention at the end of the night the waitress offered apologies for the service and the delays but it felt too little too late. I was a waitress for MANY years and would have offered input upon addressing the table like, "hey sorry for the wait, we are short staffed tonight so that wait is going to be a little longer than normal. Is that ok with you ladies, are you in a rush?" We would have responded accordingly...the tip would have been better than 10%. This review might have been a 4 star. I also would have taken some money off the bill with 3 wrong orders, especially if one of the patrons agreed to keep the wrong meal (Salmon Salad). Anyway, to someone else's point below there are a lot of options in Nashua so if making a selection you might want to go into this one with low expectations...hopefully they will take these reviews seriously and turn things around. read more

I've been stopping in here more recently since I'm now living in the area and find myself disappointed. For an establishment that brews their own beer, I find the selection less than stellar. How is it that out of 10-12 beers, there's not one IPA? Nothing even remotely close to being considered hoppy. 25% of the beer selection was stout or porter. Now I understand it's winter and I love my stouts, but really? I was in here a couple weekends ago with my son and a friend with her son as well (both 2.5 y/o) and as I'm sure any parents are aware, when you take children out for ANY meal, especially at 2.5, time is critical. It took nearly 10 minutes to get our waitress over just to take our drink order and order the kids food...and there was hardely anybody there. Based on this, I would not recommend bringing children here, unless you really want to take the chance. I will go back here, but not nearly as much as I would if I knew the beer list was a bit more diverse, as I like to mix things up a lot, especially if it's craft brews I'm drinknig. read more

Stopped here for lunch with nieces & nephews on a Sunday afternoon. Was very pleasantly greeted when we walked in but then the phone rang & had to stand there & wait while the hostess had a long conversation with what appeared to be a customer on the phone. Not sure why they would take priority over someone who you were helping first before the phone rang but finally one of the serving staff came over & got us seated. Nice selection of beers & would recommend the sampler with 8 different beers served to try. The food was just OK, the New England Clam Chowder a bit salty, the sandwiches & panini's were good. We walked in the hostess sat us outside where we requested. we looked over the menu decided what we all wanted and our server still had not came over. We piled up our menus to signal we were ready to order now 10 min in with no server...15 minutes.....20 minutes... still out server had not even came over to introduce herself or see if we wanted drinks IT WAS LIKE WE WERE GHOSTS!!! 25 minutes in we packed up and walked away. New menu is set up nicely into categories . Greek , seafood , pizza etc .. I started with a cosmo martini which didn't taste good . It tasted like they used some kind of fruit punch in it :( I had the veggie sandwich and it was dry . In the past it seemed like the veggies were cooked in olive oil and was a nice sandwich . This time no oil and no hummus in it so it was dry . My friend got the spinach pie and it was a nice big piece and she said it was very tasty . Next time I'll have to order something else . This review relates to their function room, which we booked for our wedding in July of 2006. At the time we booked (fall of '05), they were in the process of changing over their whole operation, and had recently done some renovations upstairs. we definitely got the vibe that they had identified that they could serve the wedding market and were making a lot of changes to better handle that business. On the super ridiculous side, their pricing had not yet been updated, and the owner said we could stick with the existing menu, or use the new one when it came out. It worked out WAY to our advantage, because the prices we were quoted were actually lower then the prices on the menu downstairs, and the fee to book the whole room for the evening was very reasonable. We wound up going with a cash bar, and the bartender was great (and heavy handed). They were able to rack up some of their own Hefeweizenon tap, which was well liked. Service was fantastic, we dealt with Melissa, their functions coordinator, who had been recently hired at the time. I believe she came from working at a larger hotel, so she definitely had her ducks in a row. When we got to the event, everything was laid out as we asked, the food was tasty, and they were willing to accomodate vegetarians (notable, the bride). The room itself is on the second floor above the restaurant, with elevator access and a separate entrance from the dining area. You'd never know it was there from going downstairs, but if you need to book a function room for a wedding or party, or whatever, don't overlook Martha's! read more

I'm not keen on the inside environment, here, so I only go there in warm weather when I can sit at one of their outdoor streetside tables, sip a fresh IPA and dine on appetizers. Last summer (2010) I was there several times and came away every time pleased with the beer, the the appetizers selection and pretty much the service (Hey! It took her a while to come to our table but she was a cute "kid", very apologetic and she served us well in the end). UPDATE: October 2011: Hey! Well we liked it so much here we invited 2 couples to join us on Saturday night. Bartender was pleasant and accommodating to start. Made a great martini. We had reservation and we were behind at the bar. The manager was patient and said he would hold the table until we were all ready. Very nice man. Our table was round which is great for 6 people to all talk together. Waitress was very nice too. Our friends loved everything we ordered. The appetizers were great. We all had different dishes. Prime Rib, NY Sirloin, Filet with Lobster,Lamb and Salmon. You got 6 out of 6 happy patrons. We will return. read more

Great spot off main street and this, at one time, was the premiere restaurant in Nashua. You'll need to park around back as you're off main St and no chance you'll find a spot on the drag. During the day you can eat outside, but make sure to remind the waiter you're there. Inside, unless they've changed the furniture, the seats are over sized and every view witting seems to be facing the wall. Food was not memorable but they have their own dessert kiosk full of sugary sweets. Memory of their brewery stands out, however, even without having a drink I was turned off. I'm sure this was a one time occurrence, but sanitation was lacking as the large vats were leaking and drawing bugs across the floors. That was five years ago and I have not been back since. It's a once great place but now average and for some reason below par when I go there. read more

First off, this review is based on one visit, and it is in relation to the pub food, beer, pricing, and atmosphere. Martha's has a nice laid-back feel to it. The double-sided bar is large, there are a solid amount of TV's in view, and I especially liked the open-look at the brewing vats. At sundown, the bartop lights up and gives the place a cool ambience. Bartenders were nice and attentive enough. Lots of seating for dinner time. Great location on Main St. in Nashua. Walking distance from a lot of neat places. I had two of their house-made craft selections, the Dark Rosaleen Stout (Dry Irish Stout) and their Old Dunstable Amber. The stout was served with a nitrogen-infused head and looked fantastic. It was a good example of a simple, clean dry irish stout (4/5). The Amber was about average, it was more hoppy than others in that style but nonetheless it was tasty enough and went well with my food (3/5). My dad had their Russian Imperial Stout and liked that as well. They will let you sample any of their taps before ordering. Saw some patrons having mixed drinks, martinis, and bottles as well, as the bar seemed fairly well-stocked. We had some pub food off the appetizer menu, specifically the pulled pork quesadilla, chicken finger basket, and house fries. They were healthy portions. The chicken was good, fries were seasoned nicely but not overdone. My dad loved the quesadilla. The pricing was in-line with what I expected. $ 5-6 for draft house beers isn't bad. Good apps in between $ 6-10, lots of nicer dishes (Seafood, Steak) for around $15-20. We were there in the late afternoon on Thursday and it turns out it was happy hour! (we don't have that in MA). We got four house beers, and two big appetizers for $22, which is as good as it gets. If I were local I would seek out that happy hour. I can't speak for their actual dinner dishes and salads, so I'll let other reviewers take to that. read more

Wow, what a gem of a spot in downtown Nashua! There are not too many places that offer an atmosphere of red marble countertops, refurbished wood paneling in the back of the bar, and more. Until I can come back and taste their food, I can only review their drink specials of which there were MANY, including their on-site beer brews. Their 20th Anniversary Ale has to be one of the more complex, tantalizing beers I've had in a long time(!) Strong yet smooth in the beginning, it rounds off on your tongue with this blend of caramel and toffee taste on the palate. It just makes me really curious to see if their other drinks encompass as much body AND if their food pairs well with the drinks! read more

Martha's is so good! The food has been delicious every time I've dined there and the servers are always friendly. The portions are huge so plan to take something home! Parking can be tough, but I'm usually able to find a metered spot on a side street and then walk over. The bakery inside is also delicious if you're looking for something sweet to take home after dinner. read more

This place is awful. Service was extremely slow. I got the baked haddock and it was the worst I've ever had. I could barely eat it. I came with my boyfriend and his friend and our waitress screwed up the separate checks. She charged my boyfriend the three meals and two beers that he drank and his friends first beer, and only charged his friend for one beer. The chocolate is not that great either. The people who work here are fairly nice, but I would never come back. I would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

My siblings and I hosted my parents' 50th anniversary party at Martha's Exchange and it was such a wonderful experience! The owner and staff treated us great. Everything turned out perfect. The venue was awesome. We had the entire second floor to ourselves which was so nice and intimate. We chose the buffet dinner - all the food was great. The drinks from the bar were wonderful too. The dance floor couldn't have been better for our music played by the DJ that we hired. The prices were very fair. We couldn't have chose a better place for my parents big day. We will definitely use Martha's again for our next family party. Thank you Martha's! read more

The food here is really geared to the bar crowd and for that it is decent pub food. Martha's biggest strength is the nightlife and for that it is the place to be and be seen downtown. They have live music or live DJ on most nights. They have a great outdoor section and it's location is perfect at the center of Main street. If you do go there to party, go early if you want a seat, because it gets very crowded and will be standing room only later in the evening. If you are from the area you will surely see some old friends and can even dance the night away in the P.M. read more

Great Building, great bar design, cool candy shop attached. Average food, TERRIBLE beer options, terrible music. I had my first visit to Martha's Exchange. Just wanted to pop in and grab a Sam Cold Snap. No such luck. They only have their own microbrews. And you know how that goes, some overzealous brewer makes every beer on the menu overly hoppy or sour. Because that's the cool thing to do. I asked for the least hoppy beer on the menu and she told me the Pilsner. I could barely finish half because it was so sour and left a bitter aftertaste. Not shocked just disappointed. I just tried the bar food: quesadillas and chicken tenders. They were average. The service was friendly and nice. The bar is very cool and supposedly a salvaged piece from an old Al Capone speakeasy. The music and ambience is top 40 garbage. Kelly Clarkeson, bleh. Recommendations for improvement: make a beer that the non-"beer aficionados" can enjoy. I've several times visited to this place, Friday and Saturday nights. Last time when I was there, security guys came and kicked me out without any reason. I was just sitting and drinking my beer. They just came and told me that manager or someone wants that I get out their club. It's absolutely disgusting and disrespectful. I'm sad about all those money that I've spent there. read more

This place was just ok. The cocktail I ordered tasted watered down and too sickly sweet for what should have been a sour drink. The food was tasty enough but somewhat uninspired. The best dish was my husbands and it was Greek. The menu was too enormous and seemed to be suffering from an identity crisis. Always a warning sign to me. It is a brewery and I think our waitress should have led with that. Have dishes made to pair with their beer? My husband was extremely happy with the stout he ordered. We asked her what that meant since it's not the same for every place & she just stared. When she took our order she didn't offer salads or sides & the menu was very unclear. Lovely location, bright with big windows. We were seated immediately and our server was prompt as well. Amber was great, efficient and pleasant. The prices were fair. The food was OK. One had a Panini and he loved it. I had a burger, ordered it Medium Well and it came Medium Rare and had little flavor, the bun and lettuce were good. Should be served with a pickle. There was a large hole in our faux leather table covering which made me think of the germs harboring inside. A fly bothered us throughout the meal. All said and done 4 out of 5. I have been a customer of Martha's ever since I can remember! Always pleased with my food/service some times I had awesome service other times it was okay, mind you this is over yearssssssss but never by any means bad! I didn't think it could get any better until I had my baby shower there. It started with the coordination of the event. Bonnie is awesome! So relaxed and friendly. It made a stressful turn of events very pleasant. Compared to other places I was so happy every person got a table setting and I got to pick out the linens. It put a very nice touch to the whole event. The food was great! There was also an option of chicken fingers for the kids which made it so much better! The staff working were awesome as well. Definitely wish I learned about the event halls sooner so I could've had more events there! read more
