I was a bit skeptical to try at first but after hearing great things from a couple of my friends I decided to give it a try. Two steak tacos with cilantro, cebolla and avocado. One homemade spicy chorizo the same way! As the food made its way I was intrigued by its appearance and presentation. My girlfriend had a baby burrito and let me tell you the "baby" is the name was the exact opposite. The burrito was monstrous to say the least. Green and red hot sauce were provided, both delicious and spicy. The red one was the hottest. The place had huge tvs and we watched the first half of the bulls game. Stopped in to Martinez the other day with Sheila after passing it several times. I was told they remodeled and we both thought the place looked very nice. It will definitely be a staple for the new wave of young folks flocking to west Bridgeport. Back to what's important, I ordered the barbacoa torta and she ordered a steak burrito. They gave us two salsa containers one of which was mild and the other was pretty hot. We liked both of them and generously ate our meals with both. I really enjoyed the barbacoa torta and thought that the meat had great flavor. I finished off her burrito which I also thought had a great taste. The portions were larger than most Mexican restaurants as they should be considering the prices are pretty high. Overall I enjoyed the food and should be back at some point. read more

Been coming here for periodically the past year and a half. Sadly, have significantly seen the changes and it's clear there definitely catering to the neighborhood changes in clientele. The frustrating continuous price increases, the 500 TVs they put in but for no reason because there never on but also who comes to a taqueria or grocery store to watch tv? They'll probably start playing artistic videos on them soon. The upcharges for everything. I've ordered the menudo- which is hard to make and but in the past was perfect for the crudo "hangover" and the quality in the tripe has decreased as well as flavor. Traditionally the condiments such as onion, cilantro, oregano, Chile arbol and limes are included because it's as common as the spoon you'd eat it with- but they've transitioned that out. So prices get raised regularly and less product is given and less of an experience? If you dine in and they notice sharing of plates they will charge you for that as well. I always thought that was acceptable in our culture but not here. 3 stars for keeping the salsa flavorful and consistent- which is hard to do, ya lost two for changing the quality for quantity. Whoa. Another hidden gem. It's unpretentious and simple. Everything is so clean and the menu is amazing. Tacos filled with meat and the burritos "forget about it". The taste is spot on!!! I totally love the simple straightforward approach including the service, decor and taste.
