    Chicken Philly
    Keshneel K.

I've been coming here for about a year and I'm glad they have a chicken option for the Philly it's pretty good! The drive-thru is super convenient and makes it easy to grab food on the go. They are always friendly as well.

My kids and I love Marty's grill. The guy at the counter is so chill and friendly, it is somehow rarely busy so you'll have plenty of room and the food is great ! My kids love the burgers and I personally love the chicken wrap.

I'm so mad I didn't eat here sooner cause I only had the Philly chicken (#8) even the fries after getting a lil soggy from the ride home and being fresh asf cause of the steam in the bag was good. I'm coming back forsure

    12. Fish Fillet Sandwich - delicious!
    Tanaka C.

Okay, first time here and my co-worker and I enjoyed it. This is a fairly new spot and they serve burgers, fish and other items. I had a fried fish sandwich that was very good. It was HOT which is huge for me and the flavor was on point. It could've used a little extra tarter but trust me, I will return. I ordered the onions rings and enjoyed those as well. Coworker got the 6pc panko crusted shrimp with fries and she was very pleased. The food was good, customer service received from Kenny was great and we didn't have to wait long which is always a plus when you're just stepping out for lunch. My coworker said she would return and we both agreed we'd like to try other items. Thank you Kenny for being kind, you will see us again soon. Oh, and the sweet tea is really good as well.

Marty's is truly a hidden gem in Richmond. We ordered their Philly cheesesteak and chicken sandwich with jalapeno poppers on the side. We ate everything, and the price was extremely reasonable. The staff is very friendly & quick to get through people to get it the line moving. Will definitely be back!

    18. Turkey Club Avocado combo
    Deborah H.

Came in for the first time for lunch. I decided to try the turkey club avocado combo. Called the order in ahead of time. When I got there the order was ready at the appropriate time. The guy at the counter was very nice and polite. The restaurant looked very clean. We did stay to eat for a little while. The sandwich was good but a little dry. I would ask for extra mayo and mustard if I got it again. My friend had the cheese burger and enjoyed it. The fries were hot and good. I will definitely try this place again.

The menu changed and so did the size of the burgers. Overcooked fries was not the business.

Parking will be on neighborhood streets and was not too hard to find. Stepping in we immediately noticed that mural arts on the wall. Ordering can be at the register or via an electronic kiosk. They have a lot of interesting smash burger options, including a Trompo featuring Al Pastor. We got the Fat Boi, Trompo, and Highway Style fries. We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back. For myself, probably not as the food was just too heavy for me.

We've lived in Hercules for over 30 years and are creatures of habit, so it was nice to venture the 10-minute drive to San Pablo. We were not impressed by the exterior strip mall building, but the interior of Mely's is very cute, homey, and clean. (I even peeked into the kitchen since the door was open.) I wanted pancakes, but got waffles instead since W ordered the blueberry buttermilk stack. We both had a side of eggs, his scrambled and mine sunny side up. The eggs were delish; mine in particular was perfectly cooked with slightly crunchy edges, a beautiful, silky, runny yolk, and no uncooked whites. The blueberry pancakes are so good! Of course they are huge and I ate some of them in addition to my waffle. We could have split just the pancakes and been perfectly happy. They cook berries inside the homemade batter and top them with a house-made blueberry compote. Maple syrup and soft butter on the side. The waffles are crispy outside with a light, airy, center, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. I had strawberries on the side (+$5 !!). Since I ate some of W's pancakes, we took half the waffles home. W had a drip coffee--no decalf available so I had the fresh-squeezed OJ. It was a large glass so I took half of that home, too. The coffee was nothing to rave about, but it was coffee. Service was friendly and efficient--there is only one cook and one server, and it seems several of us arrived at the same time on this Sunday morning. Overall a wonderful find that we will return to so we can explore more dishes. We saw omelets and Benedict's come out that looked amazing! Plus, I want to try the dinner menu, which also looked pretty amazing.

I had the Marina Burger. The idea of goat cheese sounded good...not on a burger, however...zero seasoning to either of our double patties, so adding whatever doesn't help...no discernible flavor other than overwhelming sloppy goat cheese. The bacon was rubbery...and interesting, also no flavor...bacon w/o flavor?! Ugh. Patties cooked fine...just nothing special. The onions were horrible - sloppy, overcooked...just unappealing. Now I ordered the garlic parm fries...these are horrid. ALL the parm and garlic was at the *bottom,* not a topping, nothing sticked to the fries. Had to eat them with a fork, scooping this non-flavorful topping up w/ the fries...and the garlic is the worst I have ever had...zero flavor, and the parm? Where? It was there, only again, zero flavor. The fries at this place are frozen and have no potato flavor *at all*...so all in all none of either of our meals had any flavor profile or layering...it was simply food...the after taste of grill - smoke flavor is yuck...unenjoyable food all around experience. Now if they say they didn't grill...where is the flavor of smoke coming from? The location is OK...band was on a break, so didn't hear them play...not too busy, but I am curious now what Golden State Kitchen not far from this place has to offer...that was my original choice... It's been a few years since Noel warmly welcomed us "neighbors" into his establishment, prior to officially opening. Through the ups n Downs of Covid and him finding his business legs, we've happily supported this spot, meeting his entire family in the process. Well he is still sweet and humble but.... Busy! I mean as in this organic wine thing is... a big THING! I hi knew??? Apparently Noel did! He's graduated from the curious neighbors and locals featuring his Purity wines, to coop with a dedicated following of passionate organic wine makers and their entourage of fans , Friends devotees; restauranteurs, and media moguls all centered around the notion of organic wines aka a cast of thousands! Damn grapes never had it so good. Case and point Point now following his Instagram account lead by his bike riding enthusiast protege, Tyler, the Study hosted a massive event last weekend. We didn't plan to attend but were curious and anxious to see if it was a success or a bust.
