I specifically asked to keep my hair long, but she kept cutting it shorter and shorter. I repeated how I wanted it long, and she responded by cutting it shorter and saying to trust the process. The layers are uneven and the cut is absolutely chopped. I look like an egg with a bowl cut. She charged twice the normal rate according to other reviews, and proceeded to put words in my mouth, saying I requested it this length when I repeatedly emphasized I didn't want it cut any shorter. To which she responded by cutting it even shorter. read more

Many of the hairstylists I've met over the years have marched to the beat of a decidedly different drummer, bending my ear about things I had absolutely no interest in, and prying into my personal business. I'm pleased to report that Maryam is nothing like that; she's down-to-earth, mellow, and mature enough to understand that all silences don't have to be filled with pointless prattle. Even better, Maryam listens and will cut your hair the way you want each and every time! It didn't take long for me to become completely spoiled; Maryam does such a good job that on those rare occasions when she's traveling and/or otherwise unavailable, I'll wait a week or two to get my hair styled by her rather than seek elsewhere. She's prompt, efficient, and her prices are VERY reasonable given the quality of her work. Bottom line: Maryam is highly skilled, warm, accommodating and a really nice person. I highly recommmend her to anyone looking for an exceptional hair stylist. read more

Maryam is an absolute sweetheart and amazing professional. I came in with very little direction and she knew exactly what my hair needed. She did wash, cut, and blow dry super quick (~40 min) and charged a very reasonable price. I requested an appointment earlier in the week and she responded immediately and let me know the soonest availabilities. Will definitely come again! Very hijab friendly as well. Just walked out of here around 15 minutes ago, and I couldn't have had a better experience. Maryam has such a wonderful and bright personality, a smile didn't leave my face from the moment I stepped in. I went it to cut my hair short, she took one look at the picture I had for reference and got to work right away. She works amazingly fast and explained every step as we went through the process and even recommended me the right products for my hair type. The price for such a quality service was a bargain, and just the vibe as a whole left me in good spirits and a haircut I adored. If you've the chance, I definitely recommend giving Maryam a visit, I certainly didn't regret a single moment, especially if you value privacy or are Arab. Paying an additional amount because I have extensions makes sense because it requires more work - but there was almost zero brushing. Just running a hot tool over dam The girl next to me who started getting her washed even before I walked in was halfway through her service when I was being sent out. So $75+tip to have to come home to DRY my own hair and I'll have to style it again. Great way to waste almost $100.

I paid and left. Which by the way- my hair was flat by the time my engagement happened. My appointment was around 1:30 and my engagement was at 5. Completely flat. Thanks for nothing. I had really high hopes because of the happy and positive reviews Laura had. Disappointed to say the least. Won't come back again.
