Came in as a would be first time customer after needing an alignment done, and was told that i needed to change all 4 control arms, and ball joints before having the alignment complete. i understand the ball joints, that makes sense..but they told me they wanted to change all 4 control arms because this would save them time; because the ball joints come on each control arms as a package deal. automatically i thought this was absurd. it takes less than 15 minutes to press a ball joint out.. i know because i did them last June... theres no need to change arms.. This shop wanted to just change all my control arms to save them time from pressing ball joints out and an easy way to sneak more money into the quote. The quote for just this work was just shy of $3000. price gouging at its finest. control arms are literally two bolts for each arm. i remember reading the labor costs for just the arms was close to 1000 dollars. thats literally taking off and replacing 8 bolts. To top it off, they are an off-road shop and my truck has a lift, i asked if they would replace my arms with something that would be more benefit to my lift, such as a better angle control arm. Nope, they were going to change them out to normal stock parts. Obviously i thought this quote was ridiculous so i took my business elsewhere. save your money go somewhere else! read more

After getting horrible customer service and a repair that failed after 3 days I was referred to Maryland Performance Diesel (MPD). I was still upset about the quality of work the previous shop had done so I was skeptical. Good Diesel mechanics are hard to find and it seems there are more opinions in the industry than actual people that know what their doing. This isn't the case with MPD. When I arrive I told my story to Buddy at the counter and he said they could help. Craig the owner took interest and came outside to put his eyes on my issue . He made a repair recommendation and offered advice on a few additional upgrades that would make my truck run better and longer. I asked him if I needed to get the parts or he was going to and he said "we make them here." Not only is MPD excellent at repairing and enhancing diesel engines but they have a machine shop in house and a full line of aftermarket parts. Last week I picked up the latest copy of a national magazine that focuses on diesel performance and I was shocked when I saw MPD with a full page add for the parts they make. I had no idea how serious of an operation these guys run. I thought I was going to another mechanic shop not a national parts manufacture. I can't say enough about how good MPD is. I have zero complaints about any of the work they've done for me. The original repair they did has never been an issue and Craig was right, the truck runs better than it ever has. I'm a MPD customer for life and I recommend using them too if you want it done once and you want it done right. Great job guys. read more

I just took in my 6.7 powerstroke for the installation of the new ez lynk tuner. From the start I met Kevin at the desk who is super friendly and then I met Bill who was the tech who definitely knew his stuff. When you have a truck and the motor alone is $15k you want only the most experienced people touching it. I can only say that I didn't realize what I was missing from my truck until they did this for me. The ez lynk tuner has a WiFi connection on it so in the future if my truck has any issues they can log on to my truck and get an idea of what's wrong. At the end I got to meet Craig the owner and even his Mom. Anyone that needs anything from minor service to complete race performance upgrades come to Maryland performance diesel. If your in the dc, Baltimore area and you need anything for your diesel no matter if it's a ford dodge or duramax this is the place to go! They worked on my sons 2010 powerstroke .After receiving a 20,000 bill , the truck still didn't run right . Overheating ?Engine would go into limp mode .We took it to a qualified diesel mechanic and found out they had put a hole in the radiator and filled the cooling system with stop leak . They also did not hook up all the censers thats why it was going into limp mode . The worse was they damaged the hard fuel line witch leaked and almost burned up the truck !! What a joke . We are considering legal action !! read more

I have a 2003 F250 Diesel which was diagnosed as needing the right side manifold replaced. So, I took it to Maryland Performance Diesel to get an estimate. What a nightmare!!! They told me that they would have to take out the motor and I should get both manifolds replaced since they had to take motor out. It was going to cost $3200. So, I took the truck back and took it to Lew's Diesel on North Point Rd. Bottom line is they didn't have to take motor out and all that was needed was a couple bolts replaced. I also had 2 sensors replaced and the total cost was $498. A long way from $3200. I feel that Maryland Performance Diesel was trying to take advantage of me and trying to rip me off. I will never go back there again or refer them to anyone!!!!! Debbie R. read more

Only gave one star because I could not post without . 0 STARS.....Absolutely horrible first time experience with this company. Ordered a part from them and paid for 2 day air and did not receive until a week later. They also failed to explain that there was an additional kit that needed to be purchased in order to install their product. When I called them about how to do the installation they then told me I had to purchase additional kit and that it was MY fault and not theirs that I did not. Good customer service would have led them to ask do you have the additional kit needed in order to install. HMMM. They were very rude and said that there was nothing they can do for me. Very poor business practice/ethic by these people. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did my research on the company a little to late. I found numerous complaints on many different sites about them. Wish I would have done it sooner. read more
