First and last time here! I went with high hopes but they were dashed fairly quickly. Our waitress Annie was not friendly. Our table of seven people would indicate a big tip but I guess she didn't care. We ordered our various dishes, and she came back shortly after to tell us baked potatoes were not available because of the all-you-can-eat time earlier in the day cleared out their potatoes. Really? Hard to find potatoes at a grocery store? Ok. I ordered cream of crab which was essentially mustard soup. The absolute worst cream of crab I've ever had! The steamed shrimp were good but expensive. I ordered stuffed shrimp which took a long time to arrive. The shrimp was over cooked and it seemed like it had been sitting for a while. The waitress offered loaded fries in lieu of loaded potato. She charged us for the loaded baked potato! Again over cooked and not appealing. My wife had the ribs and they were over cooked and chewy. The bathrooms in the back were trashed. Had lunch here on Wed. Our lunch came with two sides and we both chose Brussels sprouts from the sides menu. My husband had the cream of crab soup, it was just warm, he should have sent it back, but he didn't. The sprouts were not hot enough either. When we got our bill, I asked why we were charged an extra $1.00 for the sprouts. Waitress said that they needed to note that on the menu, and were going to correct that, and she would take it off the bill. She brought a second bill and only took $1.00 off instead of the $2.00 we were charged. She said she would do it over a third time, but we were pretty disgusted by this time and just said, forget it. read more

First time at this restaurant & not impressed.Food is over priced, crab cake was more filler than crab meat & wings were just ok.Waitress was pleasant but never asked if the meal was ok nor did anyone else & she didn't seem to have any knowledge about the menu or the drinks.Won't be back to the restaurant as the food offered doesn't match up to the prices being charged but may try the pub downstairs. First two experience last were pretty good. Food was great and service was a little slow but they were busy. Then we decided to go and eat on the outside patio area. Told by hostess that was fine and she took us out an seated us. We were the only ones out there except for some smokers that would come out from bar area and go back in. Well turns out when you sit outside...no one comes to take your order. We waited and waited. Husband went in and ordered us drinks and were told someone would be right out. Still no one did. So he went in and placed our order with the bartender. Ordered a soft crab sandwich, crab cake and old bay wings as appetizer. Food wasn't as good as last time...I'm guessing it's because they forgot we were outside and our food sat. Because it took a pretty long time to come out. No one checked on is or offered anything else and then he went in to pay the bill. Great food if you eat inside...done think the outside is for anything other than smokers. read more

Waited and now 30 min later no nachos. We asked if she forgot...she says no the order is in but the 3 cooks are all very busy all doing crabs. Then 5 minutes later the Nachos come out. We went to Maryland Mallet last night to celebrate my husband's birthday. Quite honestly we went there because he got a $10 Birthday coupon in the mail. We were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of our evening. We waited for our table at the bar and the bartender Mallory was great. So quick to get our order and friendly. The patrons at the bar were friendly and obviously regulars to the restaurant. The manager Garrett came over to say hello and see if everything was ok. Our waiter, Mallory's sidekick that evening, was so friendly and personable. The food was really fantastic and the portions were very generous. We got the crab dip-so good and brought a third of it home. They serve it with a huge amount of crusty bread and upon my request brought celery and carrots as I don't eat much bread. There was a slight up charge for that but reasonable. Even the busser (for the booth behind ours) was super friendly and asked us about the card game we were playing. My husband ordered the full rack of ribs and I shared off his plate. They were so good and we still brought some home. He said the Brussel sprouts were amazing. To top it off he got the Oreo pie which I tasted and it was really great! The Moscow mules were yummy too. We will definitely be going back there, and not just because we have a coupon, it was a great experience! read more

I thought we were going to get off to a bad start because no one was at the front to show us to our table. So we waited and we waited. Finally someone seen us and showed us to our table. The food and service was excellent. The stuffed mushrooms and crab cake was delicious. We didn't care for the boardwalk fries. But other then the fries, everything we ordered was perfect. Went in on a sat 5 pm, not crowded but was seated at a service area table, the hostess stated all else was reserved. Had an out of state guest who wanted crab cakes, I ordered ribs, my first time there, but had been referred by friends. The seating was loud and noisy, our service was slow, the crab cakes and ribs were only fair, could have gotten better at any number of restaurants in the area. While the wait staff was friendly, this restaurant is overpriced. The sides are $3.99 a piece! The person I was with got a baked potato as a side and the waitress never provided butter. We couldn't get her attention so $4 wasted. Also, the glasses smelled crabby/fishy and the air conditioner was broken so it was very hot inside. I have eaten at this restaurant 5 different times, covering lunch, dinner and late night time frames. And on each occasion food has been cold! I have yet to have hot french fries. The brisket that other party members ordered was also cold. The pit beef sandwich had maybe 2 slices of beef on it and was served cold at a ridiculous cost. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken - price was crazy high for the amount of salad I received. The coleslaw is by far the worst I have ever tasted - no taste - just cabbage. Shrimp salad had nothing going for it except there were whole shrimp with a lot of mayonnaise. Then there was the Crab Dip - found no crab meat - just tasted cream cheese....And the prices OMG! $82.00 for 2 to eat "lite fare" and most was not good!! NEVER AGAIN! And every person that accompanied me has also said NEVER AGAIN! Sad!! I was looking for a nice establishment close to home......not here! read more

My husband and I were both stricken with food poisoning from their Imperial Crab. It had tasted off but we attributed that to the addition of peppers and pimentos to the recipe. It was expired crab. I called Maryland Mallet to report the incident. I was very respectful. The hostess was not readily willing to let me speak with the manager and once we got him on the phone he was mostly dismissive, said he would speak to the chef and owner and call me back; we received no call, no concern, no response. Bad business to handle the situation in this way. I would not recommend. The plus was that the waitress was excellent, and up until the time we became violently ill on the ride home, we had thought it a good experience. A side note, we both worked in the restaurant industry for many years, my husband has a degree in Hotel and Restaurant/ Hospitality/Food Sciences. We know of what we speak. We arrived at 5:30 Friday evening and had a leisurely coffee and dessert following dinner. We left at 7:45, which puts our dinner consumption to illness at about 1 1/2 + hours. We had not eaten anything else that day looking forward to our dinner out. read more

After waiting a while to try this place we stopped in THE other night very well staffed and very few customers,placed our order and after 45 minutes finally got the appetizer Wichita was well overpriced and after one hour and17 minutes and a empty glass for most of the time we waited dinner was served my cold fries my upcharged asparagus1 dollar more and tasteless crab cakes was very disappointed normally would have walked out alot earlier but wanted to give them the benefit of doubt but no use can find better cheaper restaurant's around after all McDonald's has a filet of fish sandwich that's way better then anything you get at Maryland Mallet I could understand the wait if they were busy but the staff was to busy talking to each other then paying attention to their customers I did see one server named Brittany that was doing a great job with her tables but other than that save your money read more

We ordered 1 dozen large crabs on 6/24/17. Plenty of crab places closer but thought we would give them a try so I drove 20 minutes from PA to Maryland to get them. I arrived to pick up and was told that they ran out of large so I was getting medium at the medium price (with 2-3 large thrown in). If they had told me they didn't have large when I called I would not have ordered nor made the drive there. A phone call prior to make sure I was okay with that would have been nice. I got home with the crabs and thought there didn't seem to be many crabs in the bag. Counted and sure enough, there were 9 crabs! I immediately called and was told that the next time I came in they would "give me 6 crabs." I asked if that was 6 in addition to the 3 that I was short, explaining that I had already paid for 3 that I never got. The gal said she understood my point and asked if I would like someone to call me back. I said that would be great but, never received a call. Two weeks later, I called to order again, giving them an opportunity to make this right and wanted to talk to a manager to find out exactly what I was getting. Manager informed me that he had only been there a week and wanted me to fill him in on what happened. I told him and he said he would give me a dozen large but I would pay for 1/2 dozen. Ummm, so after all of that he comped me 3 crabs! He knew I was not happy with the way it was handled and in my opinion was very poor business. Not good for a new establishment. I will say that the crabs were very good although, the first order, there was a crab that was cold making me wonder if that was one of the large that they did have and it had been left from the day before and in the refrigerator. The replacement crabs, there was one crab that had a horrible ammonia odor making me think it was dead when it was steamed. So in reality, I got 2 "free" crabs out of the whole ordeal. I won't be back. Crabs are too expensive for that kind of service. Too many local options. read more
