Went there for the first time, great food, great service. The only downside was I called the day before to make a reservation, they took my information down and said they would see me the next day. But when I got there they said they don't take reservations and acted like I never called. So don't try to make a reservation, because they will make it sound like you have one but they won't honor it. Horrible rude waiter, if I wasn't w my kids at7pm on a Sat I would have left for his rudeness alone. Got mad that we paused while ordering, forgot a drink and when we asked he said I only have 2 hands, got aggravated by anything we asked for. Good was ok nothing special I wasn't impressed at all. I only go to Kotobuki usually but the wait was long that night and kids were starving. I will never go back here... Also annoying they charged .75 cents for spicy mayo! We had a $250 bill you should NOT be charging me for that.... Give me a break. Back to Kotobuki from now on! With all due respect to the former Sakura, the tiny restaurant had good food but the decor was seriously dated. Masa has the same food and the same staff. It's pretty crowded at 8pm on a Friday, but I had no trouble grabbing a solo spot at the sushi bar. Don't pass on this place because Kotobuki is next door. read more

I'm a vegetarian and ordered take out. I ordered an avocado roll, spicy avocado/cucumber roll and a miso soup and it was amazing. They had plenty of other vegetarian rolls I could have ordered as well, which is another reason I'd come back. I went in on a Monday at 7:30pm and the restaurant wasn't packed, but most of the seats and bar were taken. Which is a good sign on a Monday. There are lots of sushi bars in town. After going to this place last Saturday night, this might be my favorite. We had the sashimi 3 ways which as excellent. Next we had the sushi and sashimi for 2. I was impressed by the quality and variety of the sushi and sashimi. I topped it off with some uni which was excellent. The only disappointment was that they were out of some of the specials like live scallope. All in all this is a high quality Long Iland sushi restaurant. read more

The positive was that the staff was very friendly. The food took way too long to arrive, as did an explanation or apology. When the food eventually showed up.
