This is one of a chain of taco restaurants around Phoenix. This one is in a Chevron gas station in Buckeye. It's counter service, but there is a surprisingly nice seating area, and you can buy any beverage you like in the adjacent convenience store. The Pastor Street Tacos were excellent. As with all of the menu items, you can select your toppings (we chose onions and cilantro) and add any sauce you like from a salsa bar (the green sauce is quite good). The four tacos came with generous servings of rice and black beans. We also tried the Barbacoa Wet Burrito with red sauce. It was stuffed with rice and beans, and we added onions, cilantro, and guacamole. It was also quite good, and authentically spicy, even without adding hot sauce. Everything is made to order, so it takes a few minutes, but the service is friendly.

Fantastic little shop that you would not expect to be great. It's inside a gas station. I love it when you discover a hidden gem like this. I went simple and tried the crunchy tacos. They were delicious, felt like I was at a family cookout.

Best breakfast burritos! Located inside the gas station shop, this taco shop has a simple menu of basic street tacos and breakfast burritos made with fresh delicious tortillas! They have desserts like tres leches cake packaged to go for you sweet tooth too.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in a decade…read more Over the years, Americans have converted breakfast to a corporate affair. Today, our breakfasts are experienced at places like "Over Easy," "First Watch," "Village Inn," and "Denny's." It's industrial breakfast. The old-fashioned, mom-and-pop diners are as rare as a hen's tooth. But not in Buckeye, Arizona. The Heritage is a welcome return to the great, neighborhood breakfast counters of old. It's privately owned and the owner, Kevin, greets you and stops by your table. "That's great," you say. But what about the food? And that's where The Heritage makes its name. Let's start with the homemade, pillowy sourdough English muffins. Most places use some industrial-food English muffin preserved with disgusting ingredients like L-Cysteine. These aren't those. These are like your grandma made. They're soft, yeasty circles of beauty with just enough sourdough taste to send your tastebuds into bread heaven. They're a far cry from your basic English muffin. On to the eggs. Most breakfast restaurants use liquid eggs from the restaurant supply. They come in big bags, bereft of nutritious value and flavor, but full of preservatives. Not these. The Heritage uses fresh eggs and they've perfected how to make them fluffy, buttery, and perfectly-cooked. No brown spots or runny middles. It's egg perfection. The sausage is really different. These are not your usual Sysco or Shamrock greasy pucks. They're thin and fresh and meaty and just slightly spicy (not hot just slightly herby). They're a subtle flavor surprise. And fork tender. The potatoes are little cubes of rich goodness. Cooked just right and golden brown. They're excellent. To finish off the breakfast, Heritage serves a luscious Carmel pecan roll with a vanilla glaze. I liked it but it was slightly dry if I want to be ridiculously nit-picky. But most people wouldn't even notice. All of it is served by some smiling young women who were working hard and answering lots of questions. The entire service experience was pleasant, friendly, and efficient. On a Saturday morning the place was PACKED so service was slightly slow. Though nothing like a crazy morning at Over-Easy or First Watch. What an amazing and pleasant surprise this little restaurant is. Their breakfast burrito looked excellent and everybody around us was raving about it. I'll try that next. The menu is small but efficient and contains some little gems. Give the cinnamon roll a try too! This is an absolute must for breakfast or brunch. And I hear the owner is thinking about offering dinner in the near future. A needed find in a historic building in old downtown Buckeye. A new favorite.

It's a smash burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, smash sauce, and pickle. You get the option of chips, fries, or a side salad. I ordered it no onions, double patty, with fries. If I had to rate it, I'd say 7/10. The fries were just cooked enough and almost had a hint of being undercooked. The burger itself was pretty tasty, but if the bun was a little softer, I would've given it a solid 9/10. Still, their breakfast is always delicious, and that's usually what keeps us coming back.

We realized that we were running late, so I called to let them know and thankfully they noted it. Parking wasn't hard to find (on street or their own private lot) and we were easily able to check in. The place was pretty packed when we arrived, but they placed a reserved sign on our table. It was basically a steak/meat spot. I initially tried to order a Carajillo, but was told that they ran out of the espresso (it was toward the end of the night, so understandable), and instead opted for the Tia Mia (Mezcal cocktail) and my husband got the Buckeye Sunset (Tequila cocktail). Both were very well made--presentation and flavors. For the food, we got the Chips and Salsa, Birria Protein Bowl, and Picahna steak with chimichurri sauce. The food was all so delicious. Chips and salsa, salsa was a little spicy for me, but very flavorful. The protein bowl was huge and loved the flavors, but ended up taking half home. The steak was bomb with meat being very tender, properly cooked, and full of flavor. I think the meal was well worth it and pretty tasty. Service was pretty good too. Honestly, I would come back just to try out other items on the menu, for future trips.

I'd gotten the chicken plate, and LOVED it. Great cook on everything and really flavorful bites all around. (would have loved a spicier salsa option, tho). Ambiance is simple and open. Not fancy, but bright and airy. Service was fine. All around some of the best food I've had in the PHX are, so I'll be back on my next visit! (great gelato nearby for dessert also)

The building is old, which is fine it actually gives it character and charm inside. The issue is that it doesn't feel well maintained. The floors were dirty, and the bathrooms were also not clean, which took away from the overall experience. Customer service was nice. The lady with black hair who helped us was very friendly, and honestly, she made the experience a bit better. I almost feel bad pointing this out, but even small details stood out like her shoes looking dirty, not worn out, just not clean. I ordered the chile relleno, and it was my first time having it with red sauce. Not a big deal, but the sauce was surprising. It tasted more like Taco Bell sauce than an actual chile-based sauce. It definitely didn't resemble a chile colorado or anything close to a New Mexico or Anaheim chile flavor. The consistency was thick, more like a barbecue sauce, very similar to those packet sauces. The portions are big, which is a plus, but the flavor just isn't there. Overall, customer service is good, the building has charm, but the cleanliness is an issue, and the food doesn't stand out. Prices are okay maybe a little high for the location and condition of the place, but not extremely expensive.
