I've had beachside massages in South America, signature massages in Hawaii, spent hundreds of dollars at resorts all over the world on massages. But Massage Concepts... NOTHING compares. My friend who is pregnant recommended this place for prenatal massage that she goes to once a week because I wanted to find a place in San Diego. I live in 92127 4s Ranch/Del Sur and there were too many options when I googled prenatal massages. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and booked the 75 minute prenatal massage which is $85 and $79 if you pay cash (which I did) and then added on gratuity, I ended up paying $90. I had May and would highly recommend her! Basically, I started lying on my right side, then she did the upper/lower back/shoulder then the legs, then I switched to my left side and she did the same. Then I laid upright and she did the neck and shoulders then my feet. I had so much tension throughout my body in places I didn't even know. Definitely will be returning! read more

This was my to go place for massages since is so easy to book online and they usually have same day availability. I did their upper body relief once and it was great. However, my last experience was terrible. I scheduled a deep tissue for 90 minutes as I had so much tension and tightness. The entire massage my therapist just rubbed and pinched me. There was no relaxation, relief or true massage elements. I asked multiple times for more pressure at no help. It was so frustrating I wanted to leave minutes after she started. It was probably the worse massage I ever had. Frustrating since I wasted time, money and left exactly how I came in. Had to spend more money somewhere else to have a true deep tissue done. The room and ambiance were pretty good, this would be my only recommendation- turn up the soothing music or sound proof a little more. Having had tons of massages at lots of different places, I can confidently say the techniques used by my therapist were strange, inefficient, and kind of annoying. Lots of forearm action and going over bones with elbows, over and over and over, like 50 times in the same spot. Very little actual massage. About 20 minutes into a 90-minute massage I was annoyed and just wanted to leave. She seemed rushed and used fast, jerky movements, even when adjusting the sheet and/or bolster. Having recently been involved in a motorcycle accident I was hesitant to take this next step in my recovery but the staff at Massage Concepts came through with a customized treatment of deep tissue & stretching.
