I was looking for a massage closer to home since I normally go to Venus Spa in Westminster and Massage Square did not disappoint me at all! I was a little skeptical because of some of the reviews but I am overall very happy with my masseuse. The rooms were semi-private with curtains but it is great that u can get undress to your comfort level. John relaxed me completely from head to toe! He has strong hands but knew how much pressure to apply all over. My back and sciatica was bothering me and he got the kinks out!! Enjoyed the massage from my lower back to my buttocks bcuz he hit the target areas to my sciatica. Also did a wonderful job with the foot massage. Nice restroom, clean. Ambiance is pretty and has soft music playing in the background. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! Like many businesses that provide massage services, it can be hit and miss unless you find a therapist who meets your qualifications. Just read the different opinions from other reviews listed here and you'll see what I mean. You just have to find the place that feels right to you and meets your expectations. Before you read any further, you should know, I do not get a message for physical therapy, in other words, I am not a fan of deep tissue massage, but I don't want a simple body rub either. I go for a massage to relax, with a medium pressure touch. I don't want to chit-chat with the woman and don't want to hear others talking. Several months ago, I visited Massage Squared for the 1st time and paid for a full-body massage. What I received, was a massage that did not cover the chest, stomach or thighs and was more of a gentle rub, and it appeared the therapist had no technique or training. I expressed my disappointment to James, the owner and he explained to me that some customers are very uncomfortable in those areas. He apologized and asked that I give them another try. I went in a couple of weeks later and James had a more mature massage therapist assigned to me. In the beginning, she frequently asked if the applied pressure was satisfactory and once we agreed on the pressure, I was able to relax and enjoy the massage. Quite excellent, actually. When I came back for another massage, he asked me to try a different therapist. Actually, he wanted me to try several in order to find the right one. I wish I remembered the the name of the 1st excellent massage therapist, for it would allow me 2 to choose from. The second massage therapist James assigned to me was perfect. I was hesitant to mention any names, because people would start asking for her and it would become difficult for me to book an appointment, but she is quite popular/busy anyways, so here goes: Snow. Snow has excellent technique and like the 1st message therapist, actually listened to my preferences. She speaks English, is friendly and very professional. And she always greets me with a smile. She follows a pattern and applies just enough pressure to let me know she's working on me, but to allow me to thoroughly relax. Almost to the point of zoning out (but I don't and won't). The point is, James went out of his way to satisfy a new customer and I sincerely appreciate it. I enjoy Massage Squared for the large, curtained cubicles and friendliness of James and a woman who frequently is at the front desk (I'm sorry, but I do not know her name). Like most of us, they respond to a friendly smile and greeting. The entire ambiance is one of peace and tranquility. Yeah, I know that sounds goofy to some of you, but as I mentioned earlier, I go for a massage to relax. The business is quiet, clean, easy to find and James and his staff actually make me feel like a valued customer (I know ~another over used phrase, but it's true!). Thank you, James. read more

I was there today and won't be back for sure! The massage was ok, and it's really one of the least expensive in the area: $40 for 1 hour Swedish. However she barely could understand English. At the beginning I asked her twice not to touch my shoulders, and she was rubbing shoulders for 5' when I asked her again "Please don't touch"! BUT: There is NO private rooms. Cabins have been separated from each other by curtain. You hear everything happens and all conversation between people and masseuse from greetings to taking off cloths! Even when the phone rings at the front desk and they answer, everybody can hear. So this place is not good for relaxing, unless you don't CARE to be treated in the silent area. The receptionist and masseuse both spoke great English, the place was clean (except the bathroom smelled like cigarettes), and I was in and out - great service! The massage was SO relaxing. This place is okay I actually found the best price to be the yelp special of $25 per hour but apparently that only applies to the foot massage. I was initially quoted $86 for two hours the Yelp special was 50 and I ended up paying 70 so keep that in mind. I went for the first time today and let me just tell you it was the best massage I have had yet. Super easy to use your card and add tip with it. Staff is very nice. Susan did an amazing job. The place is clean and quiet. If you like more private then maybe this isnt the place because its just got rooms with a curtain for privacy but it was good for me. I'm not sure why people give this place anything less than 4 stars?!?! The staff are always friendly, excellent therapeutic massage, and at a great price, clean and neat as well. I have had some minor issues with scheduling, and with "newbie" customers who are too loud when they talk. I wouldn't recommend getting a table too close to the entry waiting room as it can be quite loud when the door opens/closes...that kills the relax vibe for sure...but if you're toward the middle to back, it's fine. read more

I have James to thank for choosing the right therapists who can really work my back and legs with an experienced massage. Since my reviews keep getting filtered for the other location on Alicia, I'll try and leave one here as I have been to this location also. Started going to Massage Square about 5 years ago, always had a masseuse named Young (Korean) who did an incredible job, then one day the location sold I guess. She was no longer there. (Alicia store) I asked for her and they said that was a t the El Toro store, when I went over there and asked for her, they sent in a different woman with the same name, however all went well like it always has. Over the the years I've been to a few massage parlors and as long as I'm living in this area, I will always use Massage Square. They've always done an excellent job and I always leave relaxed. Although it may seem like a place easily missed with a blink of an eye, Massage Square is actually more of a hidden gem. I opted for the one hour massage + reflexology and Mary was incredible. If I can give this place a negative star i would I went to requesting a therapist with strong hands I got somebody that barely feels like the touching me when I came to complete the massage I did not want to leave gratuity but the lady followed me to the door made it feel very awkward so I handed her two dollars she looks at the receptionist and the receptionist tells me a mandatory gratuity of at least five dollars is required since when is gratuity required?? will not be going back!! read more

I'm a regular at this place, and have been liking it so far until this problem happened. Basically I was scheduled for 7:30 for 1 hour. They eventually started working on me at 7:46. I didn't complain. The main issue is that the last 10 mins of the massage, the masseuse was really rushing it and not doing her work appropriately. After she said she was done, I looked at the clock and it was 8:35. So basically I paid for 60 mins and got 40 which is not just unacceptable, it's illegal. If I get no compensation from this place, I'm not ever coming back again. read more

This massage place is one step above the foot massage businesses. The room is similar to a wide hallway separated by curtains for individual privacy. For the most part, you lie on a massage table and the process starts with my acupressure and deep pressure to loosen the muscles. Next, comes a massage with oil/lotion. You don't need to worry about anything getting on your clothes because they use hot towels to remove any residue. I was extremely happy with George; I prefer deep pressure and he was excellent. The price is very affordable: $45 for 80 minutes. The one odd practice is being asked to pay upfront before service. Now, that I'm a regular, it doesn't bother me. However, I just want to share this information. Also, I recommend tipping generously. For this cost, the therapists deserve to be compensated given the lower price of a massage. Yes, you don't get a private room but in general, you would pay at least $60 for 60 minutes. Just saying. read more

Massage quality are mixed. The very bad thing about this place is: Couple of male masseuse are not professional in terms of covering you up during massages. More than once, they actually pulled my panties all the way down while they are massaging my back. I'm a female. It's been very embarrassing & makes me wonder if I should ever go back. It was a decent massage. The price is outstanding. I got a combo full body massage which is 45 min full body and 15 foot for $40. My therapist didn't speak English and I had no idea what the procedure was here. So let me spare you some confusion... you're supposed to take your clothes off (leave your chonies on if you prefer) and lie face down. There's a sheet folded up that they put on you. I put it on my bum but she took it off and redid it anyway. You can't be shy about being exposed. After the full body massage, they disappear without a word and cold come back to wipe you down with a warm wet towel. Then you get your foot massage lying on your back. They disappear again to get a towel for your feet. This is when I was confused and got up thinking it was over. No, it's over after they wipe your feet down. Hope that was helpful. I wish I asked before I went in since they don't really communicate well. I'd go back. read more

The man in the front desk provided me with great customer service and even recommended me which massage deal to choose. The massage therapists are incredibly professional and give deep tissue massage which release tight knots and muscles, while also focusing on pressure points to calm the nervous system.
