Whether you're staying at Hyatt or just enjoying Huntington Beach for the day, this restaurant is a good place to dine. The service is excellent and the vibe is pleasant. The food items are reasonably priced and the portions are not too bad. I love their green beans fries and fish and chips. We also tried their burgers and chicken sandwich. All were to our liking. Highly recommend!

Located on the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach property. The restaurant isn't very big but has both indoor and outdoor seating. There's TVs all around showing different sports. The food was good, however a bit on the pricy side for what it is.

Came here for the holiday decorations and wow! This place is so cool! Loved all the decor and details! They decorated from top to bottom and made it look so festive inside and out! Such a great backdrop for every photo! Drinks were also very good and loved the cool mugs they were in!

Totally decked out for Christmas

They go all out for the holidays -- Christmas décor in literally every square inch! It's so festive and really sets the mood. We arrived right when they opened, so service was a little slow at first since a crowd came in all at once, but it was understandable. We ordered the green bean fries, and they were really tasty, especially with the creamy pink dipping sauce. So good! The poke bowl was fresh and delicious, topped with a light teriyaki sauce that didn't overpower anything. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth checking out during the holidays.

Pete's is a fun spot. It's not a place for fine dining, but more for a fun atmosphere and a nice location. Order at the bar (which gets crowded) and they bring your food to you. I've only had the fish tacos and I like them and will keep ordering them. Yes, I should try something new! Drinks, chips and guac are also good.

We like coming here for the Christmas themed decorations every year. And every year, I forget to make reservations, which so highly recommend LOL The restaurant is always fully booked this time of the year, and we are always lucky that we get a table. This year we were seated outside, but it was perfect for the young one to be able to run around looking at the decorations. We had heaters that kept us warm and the ambiance was much calmer outside. I'm removing a star because the food is only ok. It's not bad, but no one had a dish they would write home to Mom about. Overall, it's the festive holiday spirit we come for.

Christmas drinks

We were staying at the Hyatt and were looking for a late dinner and walked down to Pete's Sunset Grille, and it was such a fun surprise--especially during the holidays. The Christmas decorations were absolutely wild in the best way: wall-to-wall festive, cozy, and over-the-top, which instantly put us in the holiday spirit. This is a casual spot where you order at the bar, but don't let that fool you--the food and drinks are solid. They were also offering Christmas drink specials, which made it a great place to grab a festive cocktail and unwind. For food, everything we tried was great: I had the Mele Kalikimaka, which came with fresh poke and tons of delicious veggies--super fresh and flavorful. My dad ordered the fish tacos and couldn't stop talking about how good they were. My mom had the butternut squash soup and grilled cheese, and wow--the sandwich was overflowing with cheese and grilled to perfection. We also saw the chicken pot pie come out to another table, and it looked incredible. It's served in a bowl with a flaky crust on top, then they flip it onto the plate so the crust ends up on the bottom. Definitely on my list for next time. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick without sacrificing quality, which we really appreciated since it was later in the evening. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for a drink, some good food, and a fun, festive atmosphere--especially during the holidays. Would absolutely come back!

Salmon Poke Bowl

Surprisingly the food was really good! I thought the salmon poke bowl looked small but it was loaded with so much protein I filled up pretty quickly. Salmon poke bowl comes with half rice and salad, edamame, seaweed salad, avocado, crab salad, pickled daikon, and cucumbers. It was so delicious! The steak burger was cooked medium rare. It was so tender for a piece of steak. It really felt like eating a burger patty but tender and juicy. Staff was very friendly and service was great.

A cute restaurant, especially on Halloween! I can't say the service was the best or the food was that good on this latest visit, but Pete's was decorated so well for Halloween. I still liked the burger, but the servers were not friendly or helpful during our meal. Better luck next time!

We had booked a reservation ahead of time as we knew it would be difficult to do walk in. Once we arrived, checking in was very easy and we were seated right away. The servers were very nice and answered our questions. They did let us know that some of the Christmas mugs won't be available, which was totally fine with us. The drinks were very cute and quite large as well. The overall interior of this place did not disappoint and you can tell there was a lot of effort placed into decorating everything!

We came here for Pete's Christmas Vacation set up. The place is definitely a bit of Temu Christmas decor threw up in it. Super cool tho every corner had something to see. Cute set ups. Plenty of photo props. We made reservations bc this place is crowded as stated it was ok not too packed. We sat and quickly ordered drinks. The menus were created for Christmas theme . Names of the food choices were changed Christmas names. Prices were 16-20 each drink and only special one will be served it in a Tiki cup. When we sat we received a menu with decent choices of appetizers to entrees. Tho we also got a drink menu with some different appetizers available. We asked to order from it, but we couldn't bc the Bar side had that menu. I would go to the bar side they had better choices. We ordered the Chicken pot pie table service and lettuce be merry salad. The server ran out so quick flipped that crusty flaky crust poured the chicken mixture so quick. Man she ran thru that so fast. No great table service there. I was so disappointed with that service and dish. The flavor was good. The ratio of chicken pot pie mixture to top crust was 2/5 the filling was what seemed less than 1 cup. The crust was huge so we mainly ate flaky bread. $25 skip this do not recommend unless you can buy a second scoop. The salad was $18 and was the size of a 5inch bowl. Come on it's lettuce at least the topping might be pricey but the lettuce ratio was so minimal. Flavor was good . Toasted pecans, cheese, golden beet but the menu said special candy cane or striped beet which made the theme cute . But there was only 2 slivers of it on top. Let's just say we were still hungry when we left with a pricey bill, we went to get food elsewhere. Parking was $10 with validation. Valet . Also upon arrival we weren't asked if we wanted to be outdoor seating bc the Dome outside would have been fun for the Hype of this Pop up bummer that we didn't get offered for that experience .

If you are looking for the ultimate holiday vibe in Huntington Beach, you HAVE to stop by Pete's Sunset Grille at the Hyatt Regency. They've completely transformed the space into a "Pete's Christmas Vacation" pop-up, and it is honestly like stepping into a tropical North Pole. The Atmosphere & Decorations The decor is incredible--it's a mix of classic Griswold-style nostalgia and surf culture. Think thousands of twinkling lights, presents hanging from the ceiling, and flamingo ornaments everywhere. It feels like a "snow-dusted surf garage." They even have these private Snow Globe dining domes outside if you want to get super cozy while watching the sunset. The soundtrack is a perfect blend of holiday classics and upbeat tropical tunes that really keeps the mood festive. The Drinks The cocktail menu is where they really shine. They aren't just standard drinks; they are creative, "vacation-themed" holiday treats. The Polar Espresso: A must-try if you need a caffeine kick with your holiday cheer. It's served cold and perfectly balanced. Saint Nick's Naughty Nog: This isn't your grocery store eggnog. It's made with house-made syrup, rum, and cognac--definitely has a kick! Cindy-Lou Who Put All This Rum in My Cup?: If you're with a friend, this one is meant for two and comes in a huge festive mug. Super fun for photos. The Food We started with the Bah Humbug Fries (green bean fries with a smoked paprika aioli) and the Charcutewreath, which was literally a meat and cheese board shaped like a wreath with a giant Bavarian pretzel. For the main, the Jolly Old Saint Rib was incredibly tender. Pro-Tip: Make a reservation on Tock before you go! It gets really busy, especially on the weekends when people are coming from the resort. It's the perfect spot to get into the Christmas spirit without losing that SoCal beach feel.

The cutest Halloween pop up bar! (They also do Christmas) located to the right of the lobby in the Hyatt Regency. The drinks were strong, yummy, and so festive! The food was delicious, but my pasta could've been warmer. Still very satisfied with the food though. The service was great, server was kind and attentive. We sat on the bar side so he took our order and made our drinks :) they also have a restaurant side as well if you have children/ need a bigger seating area. The restaurant is pretty big. The bathrooms are a walk away (the only con). Overall I had a great experience here and would recommend going if you live locally and are looking for a festive place!

The parking lot situation can be confusing but thankfully there is ample parking right across the street. Semi Tropic wines is located on an unassuming street but is very beautiful and cool inside. They also have a spacious patio for outdoor seating. I had a sparking wine that was juicy, slightly sweet, and refreshing. There were limited wines options this night but I think that's partly because the menu was "curated." Lots of non-alcoholic options which was a pleasant surprise. Menu is on the pricier side. This night we came because they were hosting the food pop up "Three Pigs" which offered a variety of yakitori skewers. We ordered one of everything and my favorites were the beef, chicken thigh, and cucumber salad. I'd love to come back and try Semi Tropic's house menu, but if they keep up a steady rotation of cool pop ups like this I think that would be an amazing idea too! I'm looking forward to their future events. We arrived early in the night (about 5:30pm) so there weren't many people. By the time we left closer to 7pm. the line to order at the bar was considerably longer and the place was packed. They host live jazz Thursdays and Fridays which I would definitely come back to enjoy for longer! Semi Tropic Wines is a neat place that would be fun for a first date, or a great place to begin your night out (if you're not worried about price). Cheers!

We waited about 10 minutes and there's no menu circulating so you are just standing there not knowing what they have. When we got to the counter to order, there were only five wines to choose from. I was a bit surprised since this is a wine bar. There's also only five food options and nothing really sounded great to me. On their website, they listed charcuterie and a lot more wines, but that was not what was offered. The inside is really cute. But the outside is rundown. The patio looks pretty shabby and that's where the jazz musicians play. There's no heat lamps or really a vibe out there. But the music was fantastic!

When booking, I had the option of dining , chef's table, or patio seating. I specifically chose the dining since my daughter loves creating content, and the indoor ambiance is absolutely beautiful for photos. The hostess seated us on the patio, and I mentioned that I had selected dining. I was told that seating is based on first availability, which was a little disappointing, especially since the restaurant is right on the water and by 7:30 PM it was getting pretty chilly. While they do have heaters outside, sitting in gusty winds with the smell of gas (especially after a fresh trip to the hairdresser!) just wasn't ideal. My daughter went back to the car to grab a blanket. Thankfully, the hostess noticed my discomfort and came back shortly after saying, "Donna, we have another table further down that's out of the wind and under a heat lamp." That small gesture made a big difference, and honestly, that's when the experience started to turn around. From there, things only got better. When our entrées arrived, our waiter Nick realized we had never received our appetizers. Without hesitation, he assured us he would make it right, and he absolutely did. He brought out a selection of cheeses for us to sample, which led to us ordering a caviar bump paired with champagne (highly recommend!). To top it all off, he surprised my daughter with olive cake and fresh berries to celebrate her birthday. Such a thoughtful touch. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Not just because the food was amazing, but because of the attention to detail and how seriously they take the overall dining experience. Parking is available in a nearby garage, and they validate the first 90 minutes, which is a nice bonus.

Yesterday, I came here for my birthday lunch with my mom after she made a reservation, and honestly, I wish we had just gone somewhere else. We sat down right at our 1:00 reservation and then waited 35 minutes just to get a drink menu. Not food. Not to order. Just the menu for drinks. After we finally ordered, the champagne showed up about 20 minutes later. It was served in wine glasses, which feels like basic wine bar knowledge, but apparently not here. When we asked to switch them to champagne glasses, the waiter brought out smaller wine glasses. Not exactly good etiquette for a place that leans so heavily on its bar concept. The whipped ricotta appetizer came out even later, around the 65 minute mark. As an appetizer. It was fine, probably the best thing we had, but "fine" after that kind of wait is not a positive. From there, everything just dragged. It took almost an hour for my mom's meatballs to come out, and when they did, they were raw. Not slightly underdone. Fully pink in the middle. She sent them back and was so turned off she didn't even want to eat anything else. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for light dressing. What I got was the opposite. It was drenched in a thick, heavy dressing that made the whole thing borderline inedible and the lettuce soggy. After our food, I tried to order drip coffee, which they didn't have, so I settled for an Americano. I asked for warm cream, which I've had done at plenty of places, and somehow it came out clotted. If you know anything about coffee, that shouldn't happen. At this point, we had been there for over two and a half hours. For a salad, an appetizer, and four raw meatballs. The server was very nice and doing his best with being busy. BUT, the overall operation felt completely disorganized and untrained. We weren't the only ones either. The couple next to us was also complaining after waiting 40 minutes just to order breakfast items. To make it even better, parking is only comped for 90 minutes. So because of their slow service, we ended up paying for parking on top of overpriced, underwhelming food. What should have been a 45 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. The bathroom also wasn't clean either time I went, which pretty much sums up the lack of attention to detail across the board. The only slightly redeeming part was the crème brûlée, which was... fine. Not amazing. Just fine. It's a pretty space. I'll give them that. But that's about where the positives end. The food is not good, the timing is unacceptable, and the whole experience feels like Instagram style over quality and substance. Definitely not worth the money, and not somewhere I'd ever go back to.
