I always saw on Yelp that this place had solid ratings for beef noodle soup so it was quite disappointing that the first time I finally got to visit, they changed the menu to build-your-own-soup bowl, stir-fry, and generic ramen. We got the Noodle with Minced Pork Sauce ($10) and the Spicy Sesame Sauce Soup Ramen ($13). The noodles were mediocre - about the same level as something whipped up at home. The ramen was also very mediocre and generic - the flavor was just the soup form of the noodle pork sauce. And the noodles were more like stir-fry noodles than ramen. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. And a funny side note is they used AI for the menu images. Pay special attention to the images of the noodles, meat, and especially the shrimp. Easily one of the better food options in the Montebello Mall. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while, and since we were already in the area, we decided to give it a go. The food was good, especially for a mall food court, and the prices were about what you'd expect. We tried these items: Big Mac Tonkatsu - The name immediately caught our attention, and tbh this one was pretty interesting. The broth was on the lighter side but had a creamy, almost cheesy flavor to it. What I liked most was the generous portion of meat. Definitely unique and not something I'd consider authentic, but still enjoyable. (4/5) Noodles with Pork Sauce - I felt this one was well worth it. For $9.99, you get a good portion of noodles with the pork sauce. It's a simple dish, but the flavors were enjoyable. Probably the best bang for your buck. Here's what we ordered: **Dry Spicy Noodle: This dish is your typical Dan Dan Noodle dish. I chose to go spicy. The amount of spice was very moderate and I wished the spicy option was hotter. The amount of bok choy and green onions in my dish was very sad. 90% of my dish were noodles. Although the topping ratio was very poor, the taste was pretty good. He then replied, "Well, there's a few types of meat?" Again, I asked, "How much would it be?!" He then replied, " $5 for option A, $6 for option B, and $7 for option C." I then said "Okay, thank you." He then just stared back and gave no response. This place was also the only place that did not call out your number but instead you got a text message instead. When I received a text for my order, I went up and said thank you but he just stared back with a blank face. When we were finished with our order, I took the trays back to them because it says to return them and after placing it on the counter, he said nothing. Once again, great tasting food considering it being mall food. It's very affordable and portions are quite good. However, you should train your front-of-house-staff to be more interactive and at least fake a smile for your customers. I love trying brand new restaurants whenever they open, and when I saw a new noodle place that opened in the Montebello Mall, I knew I had to give it a try. I came here with my entire family, as Montebello Mall also has a food court to go with this noodle place. The food court is very spacious. The staff had some trouble with English, so I spoke to the cooks in very basic Mandarin and that was ok. I ordered through the kiosk for most of it any way. I got the seafood noodle soup and also a side of shrimp and pork dumplings. I wish there was more seafood beyond frozen shrimp and imitation crab. The broth was quite nice though. You can select how spicy you would like the noodles to be. We think the price is a little steep for the quality of noodles. We believe their prices are what it is because of the location. The beef is very tender and is very soft. If the noodles were a little higher quality and less oil in the broth, then the price would be justified. The dumplings are crispy and the soup spoon could be better. It was hard to drink the soup without maneuvering within the bowl. We would rate the overall combo a 7 out of 10.
