Came back to Master Gan and once again, they're serving an absolute steal. The Chef's Special Spicy Beef Noodle combo comes with fried wontons and a fountain drink--all for the price of a single noodle dish. Insane value. Zero compromise on quality. The broth is bold, deeply layered, with a satisfying smokiness and just the right level of heat. The beef is perfectly tender, and the fried wontons hit hard--crispy and golden on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff are incredibly warm, polite, and attentive, and they treat you with genuine care--even when you come in close to closing time. No rushing, no attitude, just hospitality done right. That kind of consistency deserves major respect. Outstanding food, unbeatable value, and top-tier service. Easy 5 stars, every time.

I love trying brand new restaurants whenever they open, and when I saw a new noodle place that opened in the Montebello Mall, I knew I had to give it a try. I came here with my entire family, as Montebello Mall also has a food court to go with this noodle place. The food court is very spacious. The staff had some trouble with English, so I spoke to the cooks in very basic Mandarin and that was ok. I ordered through the kiosk for most of it any way. I got the seafood noodle soup and also a side of shrimp and pork dumplings. I wish there was more seafood beyond frozen shrimp and imitation crab. The broth was quite nice though. The dumplings were ok, wish they were a bit juicier.

This is located inside the Montebello Mall food court. They just opened on 3/07/25. Today is still a soft opening. The noise level is on the loud side because it is inside the mall. We were greeted with a smile and the staff were extremely friendly. We ordered the C2 combo. Beef noodle soup, 4 pieces of fried dumplings, and a drink. You can select how spicy you would like the noodles to be. We think the price is a little steep for the quality of noodles. We believe their prices are what it is because of the location. The beef is very tender and is very soft. If the noodles were a little higher quality and less oil in the broth, then the price would be justified. The dumplings are crispy and the soup spoon could be better. It was hard to drink the soup without maneuvering within the bowl. We would rate the overall combo a 7 out of 10. We are not upset for trying it.

It's located in Montebello Food Court. Came here to do a little shopping. Got hungry and decided to try this spot out. Unfortunately, I hate taking my food to-go but I had no choice. Came home and warmed it up. The beef rolls and scallion pancakes are good! Honestly, it would taste even better if it was eaten at the food court. But overall, it still came out good. The gentleman with glasses is super sweet, respectful, and courteous.

Wowwwwww!!!! For a food court restaurant this place is amazinggggg. The beef noodle soup and dumpling combo is so good. The noodles were thick and chewy, the beef was tender and flavorful and the broth was so good. Def will be coming back to eat here if I'm back in the area. 10/10!!!!

    They taste so good

I really like that. They have a little button on the table that you can call for service at any time so you don't have to hunt down for help. The combo is a pretty good option to get if you're eating alone or want some leftovers to take home or have a very small eating partner with you. We got the Shoyu and Salmon Poke bowl. All very decent size and tastes exceptional. The mochi dessert was pretty bland. I'm not sure if the ice cream is old, but it has a freezer taste to it, and the cheesecake is pretty standard. For $4.50 I think it's a bit pricey for the quality, but if you want something sweet to end, it's doable. Really great service and it does get filled up. It's pretty new, but I'm sure a word will get around Hope it stays here for a long time!

We got a prime seat next to the window and we weren't squished at a table for two. Although we were only a party of two, we do share a few dishes and often find a table for two is too small for this party of two! We ordered: Karaage and it came with a dipping sauce. It was light and paired quite well. Tempura eel buns came in a set of two. Perfect for this party of two! We would definitely order this again! Spicy, cold dipping ramen was the right order for this hot and humid day. The dipping broth was cold, spicy and slightly sweet. Service was quick and friendly. Apparently they have a card stamp deal and you get a free ramen when you complete the card. Another incentive to dine-in! Parking looks to be street parking. Enjoy! Get your card stamped!

You're welcomed into a cozy apace that has some decorative elements even to the music choice. Reminds me of our trip to japan, which I MISS SO MUCH! The Food Takoyaki: $8.95. 4/5 Stars. - Comes in 5pcs with sauce and bonito flakes. I liked how the outside was a bit crunchy and inside was fluffy! Karage: $8.95. 5/5 Stars - Comes in 5pcs. The sauce was tangy sweet kind of like teriyaki sauce. It was crispy but still so juicy and soft. HANDS DOWN GET THIS! Loved it so much I could have a whole bowl Tsukemen: $22.45. 5/5Stars - If you aren't familiar with this, the broth is separate from the noodles. Its a different way of experiencing noodles. The broth is thick, creamy and flavor profile is on point. Inside of the broth there is mushrooms and pcs of pork. The noodles are cooked perfectly and also comes with pcs of nori, soft boiled jammy eggs and 4 pcs of thick chashu. Portion size lets just say they are generous and we all can EAT ^^, Kakigori (MATCHA) $8/$14. 5/5 Stars - Definite MUST! Its made with Japanese shaved ice, a very creamy soft cream matcha sauce and matcha powder! I cant tell you how good this dessert is. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

Regular ramen contains 2 pieces of chashu, red ginger, and green onion (that I omitted) and a sprinkle of sesame seed. Everything else is add-ons so can get quite pricy for a medium portion size ramen if you start adding more toppings to it. Because of those positive experiences, I had high expectations for the Monterey Park location. Unfortunately, this location completely changed my opinion. One experience in particular stands out. My family and I visited when the restaurant was moderately busy. We do not enjoy sitting at the bar, so we politely requested a table instead. The staff told us to wait, which seemed reasonable. We noticed that a table had just become available and was being cleaned, so naturally we assumed it was being prepared for us. After waiting for nearly 10 minutes, a staff member finally returned and told us, "Sorry, it looks like we can't seat you at a table. You'll have to sit at the bar." At that point, I wasn't upset that a table wasn't available. What bothered me was being left waiting for so long when they could have simply told us from the beginning that only bar seating was available. Instead, we waited with the expectation that a table was being prepared, only to be told otherwise after wasting our time. We simply said "OK" and left without eating. The lack of communication and consideration left a bad impression that has stayed with me ever since. The food at other Silverlake Ramen locations may be excellent, but I have no desire to return to this Monterey Park location. Fortunately, there are several other Silverlake Ramen restaurants nearby, including Pasadena and other areas, and I would rather visit those instead.

Come for the food, but LOOK AT THIS PLACE…read more Okay, I have to start with the atmosphere because this place is absolutely STUNNING. The second you walk in, there is so much to look at. The woodwork, the hanging wooden plaques, the Japanese-inspired décor, the trees throughout the restaurant, the lighting, and especially the little honeycomb-style booths built into the walls. It almost feels like you've stepped into this little Japanese village rather than just another restaurant. Whoever designed this place understood the assignment. I went during the week, so thankfully it wasn't very crowded, and my friend and I were able to sit upstairs in one of the honeycomb booths. If one is available, DO IT. It made the whole experience that much more fun, and you get such a cool view of the restaurant from up there. Now, FOOD. I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice with curry sauce, which comes with chicken fried rice wrapped in that beautiful fluffy omelet, topped with pork tonkatsu and curry. When they bring it out, they actually ask if you'd like to record the presentation before they cut/open the egg--which, obviously, YES. It's one of those little touches that turns ordering food into an actual experience. And it was BOMB. The egg was fluffy, the pork tonkatsu had that crispy texture, and everything worked really well with the fried rice and curry. The curry itself isn't particularly spicy, so if you're someone who doesn't tolerate much heat, don't let the word curry scare you. It had plenty of flavor without being hot. Personally, I like my food SPICY spicy, so I added some extra spice to mine, but that's completely personal preference. I also ordered the Thai iced tea, and that was delicious--fresh, creamy, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted with the meal. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the food, but I think the atmosphere is what pushed the experience over the top for me. The restaurant itself is just SO COOL. There are restaurants where you eat, leave, and that's it--and then there are places where you're looking around the entire time because you keep noticing another little detail. KYURAMEN was definitely the latter. Good food + Thai tea + an omurice presentation + sitting inside a freaking honeycomb booth overlooking this gorgeous restaurant? Yeah. I'm coming back. Tip: If you have the option to sit in one of the elevated honeycomb booths, absolutely take it. It makes the experience.
