To start.... In the midst of a full first home renovation & 2 kids under 2 years old... I should've known better. But when I heard the prices, they didn't seem unrealistic to me. I replaced the following: -Springs -Wheels -reinforcement strut -Garage door opener (motor) -clicker install on my garage wall I was charged $2,800 total. In hindsight, I blew it. I was beyond stressed and it was one of many things happening that day. After sharing what I paid with some friends, they called me crazy. Which led me to some research... I'm not exaggerating when I say that my materials cost alone was all at least 4x what they go for online. I got completely scammed by these guys & the worker was super arrogant from the start (first red flag). After he left, he posted a "service/repair" number by the clicker for future problems. Wasn't even the same company he was working for (this one). I got completely scammed & at the end of the day, that's my fault. But here I am sharing the story, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for garage work. Hoping this doesn't happen to any other honest, hard working people! I got a new unit installed 2024. Recently been having issues with my door, I left several messages and never got a call back. Called again and spoke to someone that said " company owner is out of the country, and I don't know when he will return. I'm unable to verify your warranty status" . Then I submitted another project inquiry on Yelp, and they stated they were eager to come by and diagnose the issue. These guys do a poor job on the install, then don't honor the warranty . They just want more money from you. The sensors of my unit weren't even installed correctly . Lazy and poor customer service . AVOID THIS COMPANY read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I just had Denny come to my house for an estimate. He told me not to open the garage door. He asked me when the last time the door was maintained. I told him my husband takes care of that and I didn't know. His reply was "your husband doesn't maintain this." I was instantly on alert and very carefully warned him not to insult my husband. I really need my garage fixed so I reluctantly gave him a chance to recover. When it came time to ask for the price estimate, Denny grabbed his crotch and said "for you, one million dollars." I immediately left my garage through my side door and told him to leave. Denny asked me what was wrong and I said "I don't want your business, get out of my house." He left. I called their company and got the run around. Three different people called to tell me "we made a mistake" and one even offered to have a different technician come out and do the work for FREE. No one does that- these people knew what happened was wrong and I doubt it's the first time. Why would they offer me a $1000 service for free? Because they are unethical and disgusting. This company overpriced me. To begin with the technician told me the initial price for anything is $225. The only thing I needed was to change one of my garage door sensors. If you buy the whole set is about $40. This guy charged me $225 parts and labor for a 20 minute job. He even left the wiring exposed. Then he proceeded to say my garage door needed maintenance and would charge me altogether $350. The only thing he did was put grease on the wheels and a spring. He even asked if I had a degreaser. He offered me to discount $10 off the total if I left a good review to his own private company. So he does the job for this gate express but takes the credit for his own bad job. They were very communicative and the technician Jack came through to save the day. He offered different pricing options with different products. After agreeing to a price he started right away. It's 8pm at this point and he said he needed 40 minutes to get me right. I could have waited till the next day now that I knew what was wrong but having Jack handle it was the best decision I made. Finished up quickly job well done The car that shows up does have different info so a little confusing there And the name of who I sent payment to was a name way off as well so that was odd. We absolutely would not recommend Express Garage door to anyone. The technician that did an absolutely horrible repair on a spring that needed repairing. Instead of properly affixing the rod, he bent the rod so it would accommodate the springs and it looks like it is just a matter of time before the rod/springs fail. When I realized it was done incorrectly we asked for him to come back but he refused to fix it unless we paid more money. Beware! I'd look elsewhere. read more

What most of us don't understand about Express Garage & Gate Services is that it's actually a 3rd party company that contracts calls to other garage businesses. I called the phone number for "express garage" from their website 888-534-1814, the operator asked for my name, address and phone number, and then gave me an ETA for a free quote, which was within the next 2 hours. They showed up within 2 hours, diagnosed it (motor needed to be replaced), gave us a quote and offered to do the work right away, even though it was already 5:30pm. We were happy since it wouldn't delay our garage door issues for another day. They replaced the motor (the box machine) and hauled away the old one. The process took about 1 hour and 45 min. Our experience soured a bit once they were done and we were reviewing their work. They said the machine should last us like 20 years, but suddenly claimed our springs were old and should be replaced, or else the machine would last us only 7 years. Thing is, I had already had my garage door issue diagnosed by someone else a few days before, and that guy had told me the springs were fine (via a picture AND in-person) so I knew it wasn't true--this guy was trying to make another $500 quick. This was disappointing because trust is everything in business. Fortunately, they only did the work they had told us they would do so we paid them what they had originally quoted us and called it a day. The check was made to a different company name, and that's when we realized Express Garage & Gate is a 3rd party contracting company outsourcing their work. So, like Chela B.
