This was the first time using a moving service and I will say this was the best money spent. We have two great movers who respected our property and were very nice and didn't tire. We were only going to do the minimum of 3 hours but ended up using them 7 hours because they were so great and worked really hard even in the 90+ degree weather. I used Master Movers a couple of weeks ago for my move from Beaverton to Vancouver. The team was caught up in heavy traffic but they didn't charge me extra travel time which was nice of them. The guys were friendly, fast and efficient and made my move go smoothly. My husband has used this company several times in the past and highly recommends them and now so do I. Their rates are very good and they seem to be focused on customer satisfaction zooming through their task despite being paid by the hour. WARNING: If you decide to use these guys be on top of your game. Make sure you accompany the mover who is tagging your items and make sure they tag absolutely everything. Our movers snuck our subwoofer and printer boxes onto the truck without tagging them. We missed them getting onto the itemized sheet, so when they dropped off our stuff at the new address two weeks later the non-tagged boxes were conveniently "missing" because we didn't do our due diligence. Even after we tipped the guys well and fed them they still had no problem stealing from us. We feel totally taken advantage of. The office knows this is how their guys work and they are not interested in finding or returning your stuff. So if you watch them like a hawk you may not have a problem. If you're not completely thorough they have no issue with stealing everything you miss. And unless you pay for the full replacement insurance you're out of luck. Even if this company quotes you cheaper prices, please don't give these crooks your business. They absolutely do not deserve it. read more

Master Movers of Portland, Oregon has ripped us off in a big way. Not only did they damage some of our most precious items and refuse to pay for them, one of their movers stole some items, including a valuable sword that was made in Toledo Spain. The value of these damaged and stolen items amounted to $2,250 and Master Movers sent us a check for $40. Yes, $40. Any person who is crazy enough to use Master Movers, will certainly be gambling that they will ever get their goods in one piece or get them back at all. read more

Terrible! Avoid these guys! I'm convinced the "5 star" reviews have been planted by the company--don't believe it. How bad were Master Movers? Let me count the ways... 1. They lied about the cost. When I was quoted their rate, they neglected to mention that it didn't include an extra hour of "getting to and from the depot". They finally mentioned it to me on the morning of the move, when it was far too late to do anything about it. 2. The movers were untrained. We were moving a one bedroom apartment's worth of furniture about eight minutes up the road. The last time we moved (with another company) it took 2.5 hours. This time? Four hours!! And they broke our coffee table in the process. The movers were polite and apologetic, but clearly stressed out and not as professional as they should have been. 3. When it came time to pay, I was slugged with a $500 bill (a full $200 more than I was charged by the previous moving company). I called the owner to complain (especially as we were lied to with regards to the depot-to-depot charge), and was told I should have complained earlier--then he might have helped me out. Really? Maybe try not lying to your prospective clients, and charging them a fair price to begin with. You have been warned people! Avoid this company at all costs. read more

I hired Master Movers to move a antique piano for me. They left long scratch marks in our newly refinished hard word floors, and also broke off a piece of wood work on the piano. I showed the issues to the moving people and they said it was my fault because I didn't ask them to use moving disks for the piano wheels and they didn't comment on the damage to the piano. I filed a claim with the company, this was Dec 2016, it is now March 2017 nothing has been repaired and it is difficult to get anyone to return my emails/calls. I do not recommend this company and will not use them again. Moved a small studio today to an even smaller studio. Spent what I would normally spend to move a 2 bedroom apartment. I also didn't appreciate that one guy smelled like a bucket of booze (like he was still drunk from the night before) and the other like cigarettes. One guy was okay working but the other slow as molasses. Milking time on job and I didn't appreciate it. I think he also may have been on some type of drug and my new leasing agent mentioned to me the same when I wasn't around to observe. Shouldn't have to supervise a move because you feel taken advantage of. I also left some things behind at old residence to save time and money and will move them myself. Unfortunate experience and now I wish I had kept my original moving company but due to so many good reviews I changed to these guys. Lesson learned but ladies especially be warned. read more

Master Movers / Stevens Worldwide Van Lines literally saved me. I discovered that the moving company I had originally hired for my out-of-state move scammed me, when they cancelled on me two days before my move, after taking a deposit. Thankfully, my apartment management office referred me to Master Movers, who came to my rescue and could not have been better, from the first minute to the last. From the second I spoke to Brent, who scheduled and managed my move, I knew that I could breathe a sigh of relief. He managed to fit me in at the last second, and for the date that I needed to leave. Not to mention, he made himself completely accessible for any questions or concerns I had during the process. When my movers arrived, they were total rock stars! - courteous, professional, thorough, meticulous and all-around great guys. Plus, they finished up sooner than I expected, so I was able to hop an earlier flight out of own. And I have equally glowing reviews for the guys who delivered my stuff in California. My sister-in-law had the misfortune of using this outfit for a time-sensitive move; she had to be out of her old place and into her new place by a certain date. They hardly took any information in the beginning, so they completely miscalculated the move - 2 guys instead of 3, the truck was inadequate for the job - so about a third of her stuff was left at her old place. Fortunately she was able to get a reputable mover to finish the job in time. Don't use these guys. read more

I hit Google, and now I will hit Yelp. I can't say enough about how unprofessional and disorganized this company is. Chemically impaired movers (I work in medicine...trust me I know impaired when I see it). Fell short in everyone of my expectations including but not limited to the following Didn't bring boxes or materials to help us pack as discussed at time of appointment origination. Gouged the wall in the apartment. Seemed pissed I pointed it out. Put my wife's personal items on display in the apartment building hallway when the elevator was directly across the hall from our door. Said no to just about every fragile item I asked them to take (pictures, paintings plants stuff like that) Didn't put down pads to protect the flooring in my house. I had to ask, but got another refusal until I demanded that they put down pads. took my pictures off the wall at the new place, but didn't replace them. Didn't have ANY tools to work with. i ended up giving them an old power drill to use to they wouldn't piss of their next customer. Stacked our boxes in the garage despite them being labeled KITCHEN, BATHROOM etc. When asked what was going on response was, "I didn't know where they were supposed to go." I had to move the boxes into my house myself, then they got the idea after that. Called the operations manager two days later to make him aware of his employees practices. He said he would call me back in five days. He never did. I called him 3 days after that. He said he needed two more days. I called two days later and he wasn't around. I asked for the owner, I was told she was hit and miss and I should try again later. The receptionist promised I would get a call first thing at 0900. It's now 10:43 and nothing. Too late Master Movers. It's been two weeks and I haven't heard anything from you. Never will I suggest your company to move anything of mine or my friends and family. I've worked as a mover and been moved by other companies. This experience plain sucked. read more

I had a great experience with Master Movers for my in town move. Three movers showed up on time and were very professional. They wrapped my fragile belongings and moved my very heavy furniture with care. They moved some of my belongings to storage and did an excellent job making everything fit. It was a very small move (out of an RV) but they treated us as if it was just as important to them as a large move. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Had $5000 earrings stolen and noticed right away. They were to pack on a Friday and move to their storage the next day. As soon as they left I noticed the earrings missing and called to have this resolved by the time they came the next day. Of course the guys who did the packing could no longer be reached...for months!! They also went through my closer and pulled out a $4500 Louis vuitton limited edition handbag I had been hiding and said to specifically go no where near that area of my closet. I found the bag wrapped in a moving box which was to be sent to their storage center the next day. Luckily I caught this "mistake" or I probably would never see this bag again--which is irreplaceable!! I finally got a call from their insurance company 5 months later and they just said, "we don't cover jewelry. Sorry file with your homeowners.". The WORST company I have ever dealt with!!!! I have never written a bad review and this is hard for me to do! My experience started wonderfully. The really great gal in the office was helpful, professional and fun to work with! I was out at my 10x12 storage unit 20 minutes before the given time slot. 20 minutes into it, they arrived, right within the time slot given to me. I was surprised that they hadn't called me to let me know they would be pulling up so I could give them the pass code. Instead they went in and waited for the property manager to let them in. The storage unit was 3/4 or better empty as my son and a friend had rented a UHaul the previous day to save me time and money! I was concerned when I noticed that neither person was too eager to get started. I was asked how long I wanted the move to take and I stated that it would be great if it could be done in 3 hours; he said no way would that happen. After 1, 20 minute bathroom break..... Then the other 15, ( this guy came running back), I was getting a little concerned. Finally, I started helping, along with a friend to get it moving, at a quicker pace. They made the trip out to my new location in record time. It was about an hour trip and traffic was backed up. The guy in charge stripped down to his tee shirt; it wasn't a hot day, but he was really hot. Earlier, His partner had called me and suggested they just unload into the garage since I was concerned about time; I had already determined, along with my friend, that that would be best. And, honestly, the second in command seemed a little concerned about the time as well. I did have them carry a few big ticket items into the house. Girlfriend came to visit (but at least that was very short, as was the phone call telling her where to come, the guy in charge encouraged it). I helped them get the final things off the truck and we settled up! I was told that a gratuity was always welcomed....it didn't happen. 41/2 hours later they pulled out. Only then did I find a broken wheel on my cutting table cart. Oh well, it's not worth it to me to collect on. After having read the reviews, again, I think the company is a good one, I just got a very poor lead guy. Ask for those that were recommended. read more

These guys were hired while I was out of town to help my fiance move a few large items to our new apartment. Seemed easy enough as they only had to move about a quarter of a mile. When they got there they asked my fiance about my 50 inch plasma tv and she told them that it wasn't one of the things needing to be moved as I was going to do that when I got back in a few days. They assured her that it wouldn't be a problem even though there was no box because they "do this all the time". The mover (Johnnie was his name) was very persuasive and my fiance relented. After everything was set up in the new apartment and they had left my fiance noticed a giant crack running through the middle of the tv screen and another smaller crack on the side. They movers hadn't said a word, they just set it down and took off. When she saw the damage she called the main office to let them know. Imagine her shock when about 10 minutes later, Johnnie calls her on her phone berating her for "throwing him under the bus". When I found out about this I called the office to complain myself. The manager on duty was understandibly concerned and assured us his employee would not contact us further. We were sent a copy of this company's claim form and filled it out promptly. A couple of weeks later I get a check for $53! $53 for a 50 inch plasma tv! I called back to see if this was a joke and if we could try to resolve this without legal action. The office manager tried to appeal to both owners to no avail. They said they only pay out by the pound and based on what my tv weighed, this was the amount they were offering. I guess it's on to small claims court from here. Do not trust these people to move your things - I would not even trust them with my address or phone number as they will call and harass you if they find out you've complained. read more
