My wife and I lived at Park Station in South San Francisco for over 9 years. Rob March and The Masters Group managed the property the entire time we lived there. I found Rob and The Masters Group to be congenial and typically responsive to the needs of the community during that time. I also served on the HOA Board for multiple terms during the time I lived there. I found Rob generally easy to work with and understanding of the Board's directives.    Was he perfect? No. But who is?   The incident with the fire alarm going off multiple times in one night sucked. But I and a fellow board member responded each and every time that night by going down to the entrance, and assisting the South San Francisco Fire Department. Rob was in communication with us each and every time as well. Did it take some time to identify and solve the problem of a faulty sensor? Yes it did. More than it should have in my estimation. But we did identify the problem and we did find a solution.    There were other challenges as well. But in each and every instance, The Masters Group was there to offer solutions and guidance. We solved the problem of package theft. We solved the problem of inadequate signage in certain areas. And many other issues were discussed analyzed and dealt with. Was ever solution perfect? No. But we never stopped trying to improve the quality of life and Park Station and making our community safe and comfortable.    Is there more work to be done? Can we do better? Of course. And The HOA Board and The Masters Group will continue to strive for a better, safe, cleaner and more comfortable place to live. read more

If they allow no stars, I would choose the no stars. I've been in related property business for the past 31 years, I currently own and owned several condos, I served on few HOA Boards, I dealt with so many HOA management companies for over 30 years BUT dealing with the MASTERS GROUP WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. They falsely make claims and inflate issues to make unnecessary repairs using their contractor who is THE WORST, very unprofessional and unexperienced. In Nov, 2019, they claimed there is a water leak either from my rental condo or my neighbor's condo, they entered the condo the first time and found no leak, once they found out that I'm overseas, they took advantage of my poor young tenant to frame us, they opened the wall in the common hallway behind my bathtub then after hammering for couple days they entered my condo again and claimed there is a small hair crack between few tiles on the bathtub then framed us for the leak while many eyewitnesses told us the reason for the leak was due to the heavy rain that came through the old damaged roof which it caused the leak. The water leak sign below my condo was about 4 inches by 18 inches on the common area wall below my condo and the neighbor's condo which is nothing BUT they opened many walls, abused their power, charged for their phone calls, emails, trips,,etc. then they charged (ripped off) my Ins. Company $22,800 for the inflated exterior repairs taking advantage of the situation since my insurance company didn't send their adjuster. Then they entered inside my bathroom during my absentee and instead of repairing the small hair crack in the grouts between the few wall tiles or even remove the few tiles INSTEAD they demolished my whole bathroom from walls, flooring, bathtub, bathtub enclosure, tile walls around tub, toilet,,etc., they only left the sink and the sink cabinet which it cost me (out of my pocket) close to $23,000 to restore my bathroom. I talked to many neighbors in our community, they all claimed they had similar incidents because there are many water leaking issues in the community due to ageing pipes, roof,,etc. and the HOA do whatever it takes to blame and frame owners to use their ins. companies to do the repairs otherwise they would bankrupt especially after raising the HOA dues every year to the point we pay over $523 per month for a small 1 Bed., 1 Bath Condo. This is aside of many other horrible stories that they put me and put my neighbors through. Attached photos shows my bathroom before demolition, the small water stain due to the leak, the hair crack between few tiles that didn't exist before hammering behind my bathtub wall, the inflated work then my bathroom after restoration that cost me close to $23k out of my pocket. All I can say, GOD IS WATCHING. Please share to expose the Masters Group to help prevent this from happening to other people. Thanks and sorry for the long comments. read more

Here is the update on what happened after the initial anger and disappointment, when we discovered the leak from the ceiling and was unable to reach HOA emergency contact and no way to leave voicemail due to overflowed voicemail at 8pm 2/18. After 3 hours of the scare of leaking ceiling could collapse and the unreachable HOA emergency contact, we finally got a hold of Rob around 11pm. Rob's email below described the sequence of events fairly and both my ceiling and wall is repaired and painted with no cost from my end. From Rob: As noted, it is unfortunate but we rely on AT&T transferring connections, clearing lines, etc. to operate the after hours call service. In this case, we were not aware of our phone VM being full at the late evening hour (since we cleared all calls earlier that evening). Once we connected with you at 11:06 PM on Friday, 2/18, we provided instructions on what could be done that night, since we cannot safely get a vendor on the roof in the middle of the night with one of the greatest storm sequences we have had in many years. That night you confirmed no further dripping was occurring. The next morning you indicated that a new sequence of leaking was occurring at your home against the wall. With the three roofing company's we contract with all out and having prior commitments, I personally came to review the interior areas impacted at your home and then hand-bailed some 200 gallons of water on the roof above your home. A few hours later we had both the Association's Contract Roofing Company employees (3 workers) and the on contract handyman on site at 3:00 PM in your home and on the roof assessing the next steps. Since the roof was drained (bailed), the roofers could then take action on a temporary repair. You stated today, Tuesday, 2/21 that the temp repair has held up despite the significant storms of Sunday and Monday. Not sure why our HOA choose this management company. I was in process of getting a HOA approval for window replacement and Rob March (manager for our community) was hard to reach. My emails never reach them thats what he told. also he is so unorganized that he kept sending me the details of some other community. when I raised a concern he mentioned its a simple mistake. thats ok but the best part is he quoted a non-refundable fee when I asked for the break down he was disrespectful in his response and mentioned they charge for email communication. Question to Mr Rob. if you charge for emails you should have a reliable email service and even a SIMPLE MISTAKE is unacceptable. read more

The Masters has managed our Mountain View residential property for years, and are so helpful, knowledgeable, professional, quickly communicate details or respond to questions, and put their years of experience to work with amazing foresight and expertise. Challenges are infrequent but can be complex, and there's nothing the Masters team couldn't manage or guide us through. As Rob once said - tenants are really nice when they want to rent your property; 'issues' can change that, so he plans ahead and documents everything. Rob's advice simplified so many things (insurance, appliances, landscape) and minimized my time as a homeowner/landlord. If you want to find out what people really think about this company, you have to look under the reviews in the Yelp section entitled "other reviews not currently recommended." [This is located directly under the last review printed in faded letters.] I know The Masters Group isn't perfect but I do know they work very hard to do the best job in keeping both Home Owner and Commercial Owner associations in great shape while also advising them in how to keep the upkeep of these places fully funded. I work with their vendors and owners on a daily basis seeing all that is done to best represent their clients. I normally rely on Yelp to help me choose businesses but as I see what's being done here to The Masters Group, I am very disappointed. However, the reviews "not currently recommended," are relevant and are from actual clients who may not write many reviews on Yelp - thus excluded from being highlighted or "recommended." read more

I have been working with Rob for the last 3 years. I am part of a very complicated business, Cannery Row Antique Mall, that has several entities running it. It is so different that we have our own unique zoning from the county. Rob is very nice and personable and is happy to explain any detail. I have been working closely with him on a ventilation issue and he has been great. Our board is difficult because the business is so confusing and it is hard to decipher what entity controls what. I have lived at MTP for 10 years. There have been 3 property management companies in that time period. The Masters Group has been a great improvement over the previous companies. Rob March and his associates behave professionally and have done a great job supporting our community. TMG has provided timely responses to inquiries and issues. Have there been board meetings cancelled? Yes, but there have been very few and is not a reflection of TMG but is due to scheduling of board members and others. I am on the associations board now and have been a previous board member. TMG and Rob's experience of CA regulations and contacts with suppliers/contractors have provided lower cost solutions to the typical repairs and maintenance of any facility, including during the recession period when budget was tight. As any reviewers of Yelp, there are going to be some that may or may have had a bad experience. I have only had positive interactions with Rob and the TMG team. He helped negotiate the purchase of the property and saved us nearly $400,000 dollars off the listed price. This 'Masters Group' is anything but. When I first moved in I had a newborn. In the first 6 weeks the fire alarm went off 4 times for about 20 minutes each time. The first time everyone evacuated to the streets. The second time everyone evacuated again. The third time, maybe half. The fourth time nobody evacuated. This management group failed to address a fire warning system that is designed to save lives. They put everyone's lives at risk because no one cared about the fire alarm. No one responded to the fire alarm after it malfunctioning time and time again. This is unacceptable. They take your HOA and host parties instead of addressing what really matters. But hey, please rsvp to the Christmas party. They need a head count to plan for the food and drink. Oh, and they hired workers to do some painting and they left a ladder out and someone used it to get to my 2nd story balcony and stole my bike while my wife and daughter were asleep inside.. cool huh? read more

NO WAY!!! STAY AWAY!!! Rob and Jim are horrible. They will lie to your face and have no idea what they are doing. They will over charge you every step of the way and are SLOPPY in their bookkeeping. Their deposits are written on a hand written bank note. They frequently deposit money in the wrong accounts. If you want sloppy and unprofessional work and get ripped off around every corner then use them. read more
