Upon the revisit, we had some large ribs!
    Ryan L.

Finally came back to try Matiki again. We have actually been back a few other times, but they were out of ribs, and the ribs ARE the thing to get here, so waited until the Ribs were available. The order came out quickly today, which likely means the ribs were already prepared and given the last char on the grill before serving. That's fine to make sure the ribs are cooked enough to easily eat. I have to say that my recollection of the taste of the ribs was better before the last few times going. Not sure if the sauce is different or maybe there was just less sauce. Still a great bite, but didn't have that taste that made me craving more. As well, maybe the mac/potato salad is only mac salad now, as I didn't get any potato this time. These are still the best ribs in town I've found.

Yessss more Hawaiian food in Henderson!!!! Thank you for opening here! We need more of these in Henderson. I absolutely love this place especially their original location on Trop. You will not go wrong or disappointed with anything on thier menu! The ribs are what they are known for but the chicken and steak is also really delicious. So much flavor in every bite. Best Hawaiian bbq in town. I feel like I got an extra helping when I went in! Not a lot of people there but staff were nice and provided me my to go order. I also love their spam masubi with the mac inside! That is genius!! Do not skip on that if you come here. It'll blow you out of this world!! Ambiance is chill and casual. Big spacious place. Perfect for groups! Love what you guys make! Thanks for opening in Henderson!

First time doing online order. I got a text when the food was ready. It was painless, I choose all Mac no rice and every plate still had rice. Got double mac with every plate. Beef ribs tasty and huge! Big kahuna was very good and a lot of food. They did forget a side order of side salad. so I took off a star. I have to call them to tell them. Food was still great and we had extra Mac to eat it with. I can't speak on ambiance, I sent my kids inside to get it. Thank you Matiki's!

Matiki Island Bbq puts all other Hawaiian Bbqs to shame! The flavor is amazing and they really hook it up. Johnny the manager was very helpful today and cooked my foot to perfection. Much appreciated

    Teriyaki chicken plate

I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate. It comes with 2 scoops of rice and one extra choice of macaroni/potato salad or salad greens. (This extra choice is also the difference between the plate and the box). It was good, but my chicken was still dry even with the teriyaki sauce (main reason I gave 4-stars). The portion size is A LOT. Most people could probably split into 2 portions. If you're a super hungry person, you'll likely finish it and feel very satisfied. Very good value for your money. They did not take long at all to prepare my order, but I also went during a less busy time. Plenty of seating, whether along the bear-like table, open tables, or a long the wall with cushion seats.

Ordered off of Uber Eats so i didn't dine in. One word... EXCELLENT. I ordered the Kalbi plate and it did not disappoint. Ribs were perfectly cooked, plate was hefty, & delicious!

I'm only in Vegas for a few more days and wanted some Matiki's. So we went to the one closer to my son's house. I have never been more disappointed in Matiki's before. First the portion wasn't like the other two locations. And my food was served with cold hard rice. Only two miles from my son's house and I had to heat up the food. The staff wasn't friendly at all and kind of rude. My steak wasn't tender as the other locations. I would have drove an extra 20 minutes I had enough food from the other locations to feed my grandson and myself with enough left over for the next day. Matiki's you really messed up this time. Check my last review!

After seeing Matiki posted all over social media, I knew I had to stop in and try it once their location closest to my home opened. I stopped in on a Friday night to finally try their food. We were greeted right away by the cashier. There was quite a few people waiting for to go orders so I knew it had to be good. We ordered a steak and chicken plate with macaroni potato salad, a single beef rib to try since they're hyped up by all the food bloggers, and a chocolate haupia cake. The dining room was a bit dirty and the music was really loud but we were able to wipe down a table and sit. Our food took a long time to come out but they were extremely busy so it was understandable. The portions are huge. The beef rib was really tender and the meat was sliding off the bone so I can see why they're so popular. The steak and chicken teriyaki were really flavorful. We had enough to take some leftovers home. The chocolate haupia cake was amazing! I'm glad we tried it. It's made by a local bakery here in Vegas. I will definitely order one every time I go. They also sell a lot of Hawaiian candy and treats so if you have any sweet tooth cravings, they got you. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The food and portions live up to the social media hype. I'll be back.

Very solid. I've had most of the protein, chicken and steak plates are great, the kalbi is good and popular but the beef ribs are the biggest draw to the venue I'd say.

Love this place. I got the number 1. Sam's plate that's the beef rib plate. Absolutely love it. The flavor is a hit and the meat is not super chewy. Perfectly cooked and tender with burnt ends. A good alternative if they run out of the Beef ribs is the steak box. They give so much steak and it's a great deal considering it's $13.25 compared to the Sam's plate which is $17

Ordered 2 meals lots of food in each carton! Beef Rib plate and chicken and steak plate. Ribs were huge, lots of fat on them, but the meat was very tasty. Came with Green salad and white rice. Steak was plentiful and good. Chicken was too dry, even dipped in sauce. Mac/potato salad was good and came with white rice. Decent prices and very minimal decor. Service was okay, food came out pretty quick.

I had to pick up something real quick for dinner so I decided to stop by this location since it's close to work. This is their newest restaurant and I think it's the biggest one to dine in. It was super quick in and out ordered 10 pieces of beef ribs. I did notice however there was a really cute painting on the wall I remember palm trees and a beach if not mistaken.

    Tyler C.

Do yourself a favor, get the beef ribs! The prices, quality of food, and efficiency here is just commendable! From jump, the service is friendly and helpful. I had a lot of questions about the desserts and despite not even ordering one, the girl at the counter was happy and willing to educate me. We ordered two orders of beef ribs because for under $20 a plate, it was too good of a deal to miss on. Each portion was definitely hearty and the meat was incredibly juicy, flavorful and tender. I wasn't in love with the Mac salad, personally, but my partner was a big fan on his entire plate. Definitely a great Hawaiian food spot.

I'm just going to say it upfront, this place is not about aesthetics at all…read more The inside is a little run down, nothing curated or "cute" about it. I even noticed small drips on the wall that looked like sauce stains, so yeah...not the kind of spot you come to for ambiance. BUT. The food? Absolutely makes up for it. I saw a steady stream of DoorDash drivers coming in and out the entire time, which already told me this place is popular for a reason and after eating, I get it. The food is really good. Like, seasoned all the way through, flavorful, not dry, not bland everything just hits. The chicken was juicy and tender with that perfect grilled flavor, and the portions are generous. The rice was fluffy, the mac salad was creamy and balanced, and everything together just felt like a solid, satisfying plate. No shortcuts, no watered down flavor, just good food done right. Vegas has a LOT of Hawaiian BBQ spots, but hands down...this is one of the best, if not the best I've had out here. So yeah, don't come here expecting vibes. Come here because you want a plate that's actually worth your money.

Place is showing zero pride. This was our favorite go to spot off strip that we visit every time we come to Vegas and that we recommend to everyone. This trip I brought my mother and bragged about it on our drive. She refused to order anything there as soon as we walked in. So there were No ribs today and they don't know when or if another location they will have them?? Spam musubi is premade but did not look great once opened. My son took one bite and said it was disgusting- No musubi sauce and tasted like it has been sitting for a while. Like just make them fresh if they're gonna sit all day. I also decided to haphazardly order a very sad and pathetic side of Mac salad that didn't taste like anything. 2 OG musubi and a side of Mac salad for $11 that went straight into the garbage. We Debated coming back on a different day on this LV trip to see if it's an off day but not sure I can after seeing how dirty it was and that they are ok to sell crap to loyal customers. This is so sad and disappointing! Hope they can bounce back because the food truly was so awesome.

Naturally, we decided there was no way we were leaving Las Vegas without trying it. First things first.... these hours are... interesting. They're only open from 11am-5pm, Wednesday through Sunday, so plan your life accordingly, lol!! We came right when they opened on a Saturday because I heard the lines get serious later in the day. Pro tip: worth it!!! The place itself is super clean and welcoming, which immediately set the tone. What we ordered (aka the greatest hits): * Sapasui (noodles w vegetables & meat) - perfectly seasoned, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. * Povi Masima (coned beef brisket) - brined just right and not overly salty like some other spots (huge win). * Paifala (pineapple half moon pie) - piping hot, fresh out of the oven. We actually had to wait five whole minutes for it... and I'd gladly wait ten more. Light, buttery, flaky perfection. * Talo & Fa'i (taro & plantain, the starch to pair w entree) - perfectly simmered with great texture, and that coconut sauce? Chef's kiss!!!! * Palusami (taro leaves simmered in coconut milk) - theirs has povi in it!! I've never had palusami with meat before and now I'm wondering why everyone isn't doing this. Soooo good!!!!! Long story short: everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I 100% understand why my colleague hyped this place up... and yes, we'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Vegas. Thanks Josh K for the delish recommendation!!! I ordered the garlic chicken, which had a nice crispy, crunchy coating, but that was honestly the best thing I could say about it. The flavor was incredibly mild and lacked the bold garlic taste I was expecting. It was surprisingly bland and didn't leave much of an impression. The rice that came with it was also disappointing because it was mushy instead of light and fluffy. The macaroni salad was another letdown. It had a strange flavor that I couldn't quite figure out. I'm not sure if that's how it's traditionally supposed to taste or if something was off that day, but I didn't enjoy it and ended up leaving most of it behind. The highlight of my meal was definitely the chicken teriyaki. It was flavorful, well-seasoned, and had just the right amount of char from the grill. If I were to order anything again, it would probably be that. The location also didn't do the restaurant any favors. The surrounding area and parking lot felt a bit sketchy and weren't especially welcoming, which made the overall experience less enjoyable before I even walked through the door. As for the service, it was fine. The man working at the front was cordial and polite, and I didn't have any complaints about the customer service. Overall, I'd give this place three stars. While the chicken teriyaki was enjoyable, the rest of the meal fell short of expectations. Between the bland garlic chicken, mushy rice, unusual macaroni salad, and less-than-inviting location, I wasn't impressed enough to make a return visit.

Hints of surfing culture, rockabilly and retro. Perfect signature original or classic tiki drinks via their menu as well as full bar, soft drinks and beer. The Makalele Knockout is probably one of my personal favs with rum(s), lime, hibiscus and a incredible blend of flavors. However the Tiki Bandit, Frankiestein, Dr No, ScruV and numerous others might speak to you. I've been to Frankie's a few times about 10 years ago, so it was nice to stop in with a group of buds and share some convo as well as meet up with my oldest best friend and her wife, who ironically is who I came to Frankie's with those first times a decade ago. All tiki drinks are currently $15 and well worth it. You're able to drink, gamble (at the bar), smoke, converse, sway (good music) but limited space and enjoy the night or day away. Seating goes quick at night, especially on weekends, but arriving earlier (before 8pm) can help. Sometimes tables, seats and areas open up faster if you're patient. All the staff, including the bartenders and door guy are thoughtful and personable. We eventually got part of the area that's slightly enclosed with a great view of the entire bar especially being a group of 6 to 8 at once point. High recommend.
