A lot of people don't know that Matsulin is open for lunch, but whenever I come through Hampton Bays around lunch time, I like to stop here. They offer lunch specials between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. (I think) that run between $8-11 and are fresh and fantastic. The dishes are unusual, there's a lot of variety, and the food is fabulous. I've never tried the dinner menu, but lunch is always a treat! I also have to compliment the servers (always attentive and on top of their game) and the ambiance, which is serene and beautiful. If you haven't tried Matsulin, you're missing out! read more

The food here is d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! They do an amazing job with many of the asian dishes even though the menu is diverse. They offer Japanese, Malaysian, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes rarely offered at other restaurants. Some of these dishes are perfectly done like the miso soup, the Roti Canai (Malaysian pancakes), the Miso Seabass, or the chicken or shrimp Ayam. Try the fired bananas for dessert. It is simply scrumptious! The service can be slow at times, but the great delicious food more than makes up for service. read more

We went to Matsulin with some Japanese family members last night to have a family night out. The food was wonderful. The tea is a favorite and quite tasty and the presentation of the food makes it a special night out. The ambiance is nice and light and it is a great place for a quiet conversation and some restorative nourishment. I love eating here. Their sushi is the best around! I'm picky about where I eat raw fish but this place is perfect. So clean and the seafood is always fresh! Everyone who works here is great.
