The service here was prompt. I opened a tab last night and my bartender rushed to help me every time he saw me coming to the bar. I appreciated the conversation Shannon provided and amazing service. We were going to get lemon drops but he talked us into his version of kamikaze shots which were 10/10! This was not our first time here but it looks like they have hired more people to keep up with the growing crowds. The band Madison was also really good. Next door at pick6 there was also a dj playing hip hop rap music. Going from side to side was great. Will definitely be back during the summer. read more

The dance floor is not level. The squares it's made up of are warped, making them uneven and springy. I won't go back here to dance. The atmosphere is fine. I love the walls. I had a Blue Moon for $5. The mechanical bull looks ok for what it is. It's hard to find the entrance. I first tried to go in through Pick 6, but had to go outside to an un marked door that I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. read more

We were charged a cover charge at 8pm and there was maybe 7 other people in the place. The place looks like it has a lot of potential. But they are not done. No beer on tap in the bar either. Hopefully they will get that too. A live band would be nice to see. I hope to return and see improvements have been made. read more

I'm just leaving here, this place is awesome!! The ambience makes you feel like you are in Nashville or Austin, TX. So refreshing to find an authentic country place in the Bay Area. Also, if you like to line dance or two step then this is the place to come because they have great music from the band and DJ. The DJ even has a clip board to take song requests for your favorite line dance song! Really great feel and people are friendly and nice - everyone seemed to be there to just have a good time. The staff was accommodating. My only recommendation is to put in a more sturdy dance floor as the square dance floor makes it hard to dance at times. I went there this past Saturday after my bridal shower with some of my girlfriends to have a few drinks and ride the mechanical bull and I had the best time! One of the bartenders that's named heather made us killer drinks and was very friendly. Made us feel at home and I will def be coming back to have another awesome time very soon! The Pick6 drinks were much better. The Columbia bar tender was friendly and made a great drink. However, in the Mavericks side it was a total different story. Unfortunately, the bar tenders service was awful. They were hanging out talking with each other rather than serving drink. One bar tender served a beer to the guy next to me and walked away without taking his money which was on the bar. He stood there for 10 min and she didn't return. I left and went to Pick6 to get my drinks. The group I was with had to take their vodka cran to the Pick6 side and have them remade because they tasted like cough syrups. The band was great and the people when you enter kind and fun. The crowd appeared to love the band as well. I gave a 2 star only because if the Pick6 side. I should have stayed there. Ok we just showed up with my 80 yr old mother-in-law who just wanted to hear a little country music and they turned us away because she didn't have her ID. Now I understand that it his just his job to enforce this law, but he did it with such rude attitude saying in a snarky tone "this has been the law since Jan 1st!!" As if we were idiots for not knowing. Come on - does he really think they are gonna get shut down for serving 7-up to an 80 yr old woman? Someone needs a lesson in customer service - at least act like you feel bad and apologize. read more

Love this country bar and so glad there is a page close by to line dance!! They have free line dancing lessons on Friday night's. We learned 4 dances and the teacher was great! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is for the dj. The first time I went to mavericks I wanted to request a song and he was very rude and said he wasn't taking requests. To his credit he did end up playing the song that night. The second time I went he did the same thing and cut me off before I even got to the booth. This place also has great live bands. I'll be coming back but hopefully the dj becomes more friendly. read more

As one of the only few bars/nightclubs to hang out in the tri-valley, I have mixed feelings after three difference visits. The music is fabulous and line dancing instruction on Friday is terrific! A little disappointed by the bartenders - they spend a lot of time socializing amongst each other and lack focus on customers. Also, the three times I have been there, the place is EMPTY - 50 people tops and that is on a Friday/Saturday night. I stayed late hoping more people would show, and it just didn't happen. I plan to give this place another shot in the coming weeks. Planning a girls night out...hopefully, we won't be disappointed. read more

Willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt since it was the NBA Finals, but man, service was not good. While it's heavily staffed, and everyone is really friendly and they try to be accommodating, the wait times were excruciating. We were warned food would take around 30 minutes to come out, but my Pick 6 burger turned out to be the Holy Grail, since it took upwards of 1.5 hours for arrival (it was just ok by all accounts, not worth the wait). I wouldn't mind the wait so much if the staff would at least check in with you to tell you it was coming or at least actually follow up when you asked--our group must have asked 2-3 times after each order (after waiting around 10-15 minutes upfront, so not like we were pushy) to see if there was a status. There seems to be a floater waiter/server and another waitress who you can ask for updates with, but I found the male floater to be more helpful. When we asked for things, he usually got it done, albeit seemingly hours later. The sangria, my friend's wife said, was too watered down, so she was forced to pour a glass of wine into it to spice it up. It seemed to help. The brussel sprouts are tasty as they have bacon in them. The buffalo wings are pretty good, but again, the wait to get them doesn't make the juice worth the squeeze. Beer takes forever as well, and that is just pouring a tap. I expect a long wait for food on game nights but the delays on suds was a little frustrating. On the plus side, the space is ample, water is available via a consistently refilled pitcher at the bar, and there's a good amount of TV screens nearby...although the main projector one had a technical difficulty and broke down to reset during the third quarter. There's a mechanical bull but I was too busy waiting for my order to check it out. Pick 6 is next door, but it was super packed so this must be the overflow section. Parking is a little tight since there's a lot of commerce in this plaza, but it seems you can find a spot if you look hard enough...just may have to search it out for awhile. The round tables are small and non-backed chairs/stools await you, as well as odd gaps between the table and the ring around the table, causing someone in our group to have their drink fall through the crack. All in all, it's a decent sports bar, but on busy sports days, don't expect a flawless victory. read more

Maverick's is brand new to Pleasanton and it is a great addition. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is super nice. My favorite part is the decor. It feels very chic and country. One of the best country bars I have been to. Looks great inside with a great dance floor. And I love to dance! lol. No waiting in line at the bar because of the awesomely fast and friendly service. Drove down here with a few friends for the country-style theme they have. We all came with cowboy hats and decided to get a few drinks in before riding the mechanical bull - probably the highlight of the night. There's enough room on the dance floor to get comfy and dance the night away with a cute woman. The bar is very long and allows for easy access to get the bartender's attention and buy a drink. Standing tables were super helpful. Definitely coming back here. read more

Have been patronizing Mavericks since it's opening and am very pleased with the venue. Some posts on yelp re: Mavericks are a bit outdated as many of the problems stated have been fixed. Mavericks opened it's doors while still in the construction mode, now that the venue has been open for quite some time the dance floor has been replaced, it is very danceable with no high-low spots. The bands are top notch with folks like Buck Ford, Michael Beck, Brodie Stewart, Ryan Scripps and others playing there on a regular basis. Doors open early as they have a great menu for food and beverage, NO COVER until 7:30pm then dance lessons with Heidi, Lisa or Sherri depending on the night. No, I am not an employee or owner at Mavericks, but rather a cowboy who enjoys good music, good fun, country folks, country dancing. I would highly suggest checking out Mavericks Friday or Saturday nights. Mavericks is much better than just "OK", it's a great venue, you'll be surprised! read more

Mavericks is a great local place to go to have a good time. If you're looking for a local country bar on this side of the mountain, this is the place to go to so you don't have to go all the way out to the rack in fremont. Depending on the night, they have either a dj or a live band. The live bands are usually a little loud but thats expected so bring ear plugs if you have sensitive hearing. The food is good and usually served quick. The staff is always friendly. I've been here many times and never seen any issues where security needs to get involved. Its always a fun time I'd recommend for anyone looking to have a good time. read more

Never go to this place during an NBA championship game when the Warriors are playing. You'd think they would've staffed up and prepared for the huge crowd. Complete chaos! It took 45 minutes to get my beer and it wasn't even the beer I ordered. They could only serve small 12 ounce beers because they ran out of the large size and it wasn't even half time yet. This place is great, huge bar, fun people, mix of 20s, 30s and even some 40s....line dancing, 2 step, but the DJ also plays more current, fun dance songs, a lot of pretty girls walking around, the mechanical bull was a blast....a few birthday/bachelorette parties going on...a great change from our normal bar, and the food was really good as well....my friend's band is playing there March 24th, that band always brings a great crowd so will be there for sure... read more

So I came into Mavericks Sunday morning to watch the Warriors game with my boyfriend. We were the first people in for the day as it was an early morning game with the falcons playing right after. Our bartender Shannon was a riot! From the time we walked in to when we left I think we laughed maybe 50 times. Most bars you go to are so bland and strictly about making money. This place was too but we appreciated how we felt at home at Mavericks and were thoroughly entertained and attended to. The Bloody Mary mix is also made here in house we found out and they put in a bacon strip, it was a little thicker than I'm used to when it comes to bloody Mary's but it was amazing! My boyfriend had an old fashioned which was made perfectly. We ate before coming but the dishes we saw going around the restaurant looked mouth watering. Will definitely be back at night to check out the night scene here with friends. read more
