Mavis Discount Tire in Wantagh on sunrise hwy damaged my 2019 Subaru Outback oil drain plug and oil pan and refused to fix the problem. I have all the receipts that this business was the only business to work on my 2019 Outback. Corporate headquarters refuses to address the problem so I'm going to take Mavis Discount Tire to small claims court. I don't even want to give them one star.

Horrible experience with my tire replacement. Pretty sure they stole my perfectly fine donut I came in with or shredded it when removing it and never said a word when I picked up my car. The condition they put this donut back into my car in without a word is totally unacceptable. Women go elsewhere, you'll be treated the way you're worried about being treated here.

Allan got my car back on the road after having a screw in the tire in less than 10 minutes! The service was great!

I told them my tire light was on, and they said that I would have to wait a while. I got there at 3pm. They closed at 6pm but they said they would call me. I received no phone call. So I called at 5:30 and they said "oh yeah. It's done. You had a nail in your tire. You gotta come now because we're leaving early. So I had to find a ride back to this place. When I got home, the tire light came back on. They didn't fix it. I will definitely not go back there. read more

I want to give a big shout out of thanks to Sal and Alton at Wantagh mavis. the customer service is top notch yesterday and everyday. car repairs give my anxiety ( not knowing what they will find wrong and how much to fix)! the estimates are accurate and the price is better than pepboys and local service stations. I took my wife's 2008 Suzuki SX-4 in on Tues. 11/17/15, to have 4 new tires installed that were on sale. When I got there, I was greeted by the Mngr. Joe Reiners. Even though he was busy behind the counter, getting asked questions and being handed paperwork, he took the time to look me in the eye and listen to my vehicle concerns. In addition to the tires I asked to change the oil and cautiously asked to check the front end alignment and check the suspension because it was riding pretty rough. I left the car there, got a call a short time later from the Asst. Mngr. Dave Fernandez who told me I just needed rear struts, rear brake pads(rotors fine) and recommended a power steering fluid change. He could have said all four struts, pads, rotors, transmission I could go on but he didn't. He also hooked me up with coupons that I didn't know about. The best part of it all was the car ran smooth as glass after I drove it. All in all, I couldn't have been happier with the team at Mavis. Keep up the good work Joe and Dave. read more

Went in to have 4 tires changes. Originally told an hour and a half. I told SAL I would get coffee across street and come back at that time. I came back about an hour and 15 minutes later and they had not yet started my car. Was told ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF. At one point my car was in the bay and NO ONE WAS WORKING ON IT. COMPLETELY UNREALISTIC WAIT TIME AND POOR SERVICE!! Tried to complain thru cust service and eventually spoke to someone who said he was regional mgr. He told me he would call me the next day. About 5 days later and I never heard back. read more

I went to Mavis to get a simple wheel alignment and keep in mind that I was able to turn both ways perfectly fine. When I went to pick up my car they told me that I was not able to turn left and sent me on my way like that. I almost got into multiple accidents on the way home and I live only a mile away. I will never go back to them for any service and I do not recommend anyone going here because the guys do not know what they are doing. read more

Let me start by saying I will go to mavis and refer Mavis to all my friends for there auto needs. With that being said The crew at Mavis tire in Wantagh are great from their customer service down to the techs that do the work. I dealt with Sal and Tony on different occasions and always left feeling good about my decision. I went to Massapequa Nissan and they wanted an enormous amount of money for what I needed at that time it was two tires. On this visit I knew that I had to have the tires ordered because of the size they said that they will be in at 11:30 am the following day. side note I did not have to pay ahead of time) When I got to the shop Sal set me up and got me right in asked if I would like them to check the brakes and asked if I needed an oil change i was about 200 miles away and went for it, After a few moments I was approached my a very knowledgeable your guy by the name Matt he knew my vehicle well he suggested that I replace the front pads he let me look at them and they needed a change with all I got the tires oil change and front brakes the total cost was more than 50% less than what I was quoted from the dealer. the parts that needed to order were in in less than 30 min these guys are great and the company needs to know what an asset this group of men are. read more

never take you car to "sal and his co hort Harry. especially if your a woman alone trying to get their car fixed. on easter weekend 2014 they claim they weren't busy. had one of their mechanics drive me home they slipped $5.00 to. he drove m home like a madman. so glad i was still alive i swore i'd walk back before going with him. harry "had promised a call and a ride back if i had none. at 4;30 pm on a holiday weekend i had a friend drive me back. there was "harry" driving away. no call my car thrown in the back of a lot i was talked into most of that stuff. my car run s like a Buck board from little house on the prarie. i'm the original owner and i once loved that car. ever since sal and harry got hold of it i hate it. hard tires with hard struts. for months it s been awful. sorry i had to share. my mechanic said all nuts and bolts are in place, but he explained the problem. he could have fixed it for the same and it would have been fixed correctly. brake sales and mavis specials are nothing to write home about. you'll be sorry. a week after my car i over heard a lady saying someone at mavis wantagh wanted to change her power steering fluid for $70.00. i explained i never heard of this. its not done .she called back and promptly cancelled. thank god som e good came out. me i'm car shopping, back to leasing and never ever will i step in to mavis. 2nd rate mechanics and moe and larry aka sal and harry ! read more

They also charged me an additional $500 for a second key fob. What luxury vehicle only comes with a single key fob? These folks are as slimy as they come! They are the lowest of low. They have zero morals, ethics and lie, lie, lie. The fat finance guy promised to buy dinner when I was there only to come up with a cold cheese pizza and bottle of water, this idiot didn't even spring for a topping on the pizza. What a joke. Lastly, when I take the vehicle in for an emissions test the plug does not work. I have to take it to the Maserati dealership and they charge me for 2 hours of labor to find out that the wantagh dealership put a tracker on the vehicle. They were paid in full for the vehicle so they should have removed such a device but it simply shows what type of dealership they are. You know, buy here, pay here so that I can overcharge for a vehicle and then track it if you miss a payment. They take advantage of people. Please do not patronize this establishment. They are the lowest of the low and should be shut down

I had 2 blow outs on my Honda 2018 HRV and called the nearest Mavis which was in Wantagh which ended up being the biggest mistake. I was quoted over the phone on the way to Mavis in the tow truck. Kumar the assistant manager was taking care of of me. He quotes me one total price for 2 tires ending up being $507. I take a look at the invoice and took things off like tire insurance which I never asked for. Quoted me $15.95 for tire balancing and charges me $19.95. Also charged me for 2 valve stems which he said he could reuse. Also quoted me $79.99 for a wheel alignment then sneaks in $20 labor for it. Finally after going back 3 times to get a $21 credit I got the bill down to $454. Kumar assured me a would get a $75 rebate if I set up a Mavis charge card. Another lie. I called the main office and spoke to Tyler and confirmed I was not entitled to one since I did not buy 4 tires or $600. Also Kumar would set me up with 6 months free interest on the Mavis card which to no surprise was another lie. Also his assistant there had problems putting the $21 credit through and when he handed me the credit sheet I asked him did he charge my card anther $21 or credit me? He took offense to this and informed me he did not like my tone! Call me a dub ass and a verbal altercation ensued. Avoid this shop like the plague! They are scammers and thieves. I am waiting to hear from Tyler at the main office regarding these 2 liars. read more

One of the front tires on my car consistently had to get air in it and after going to 2 different shops no one could find anything wrong with it. Well I stopped into Mavis Discount Tire in Wantagh on Sunrise Hwy to get it changed. They found an issue with my suspension which caused my back tire to be balled unbeknownst to me. Admittedly I know nothing about caring for my tires but wow 2 other shops didn't catch that?! Thank goodness of the skills folks here. Then there's the professionalism and even well appreciated help with giving me the best price for the work I needed done. I highly recommend this shop and big shout out to Kevin who treated me with the degree of respect that my husband (who wasn't with me at the time) absolutely appreciates. read more

We were getting ready to go out East with the family. I was putting something in my car and noticed my rear tire was low. Looking closer, I saw a screw in the tire. I jumped in my car and carefully drove to Mavis. When I got there, then man behind the counter told me it would be about 45 min. I said ok. I told him I left my cell phone home, so I would have to wait. About 5 minutes later they brought my car in, took out the screw, and plugged it(I'm guessing). He didn't even charge me for it, which I thought was too kind. I gave the nice man who fixed it something for his labor. I'm glad I didn't read the terrible reviews before I went there. They were nothing but kind to me. I won't hesitate to go back in the future. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. Horrible service and rude customer service and mechanics that argue back. First off I went cause my car was making sounds. So I went the first time and they told me l had the change the brakes and rotors. Sound of my car stayed the same but actually got worse the next day. They also stole a tire as well. Who does that. I brought it over to an honest mechanic somewhere else and they diagnosed the problem within 10 mins. Mavis are just money hungry people that don't give two sh*ts about their customer. Made a complaint on top of that and they can't even follow up. I wanted a full refund and they can't even respond. What f**ckers they are. read more

Want to take some time to review this Mavis , this past summer 2019 took my Toyota RAV4 for a catalytic converter and 02 sensors installation,Shabbir the Manager was extremely knowledgeable about the situation. Shabbir has a great team of people who are effectively efficient and Mr. Shabbir also got a lot done to fix this issue because of smog and NYS Inspection. All the Mavis's across long island have become rip-off scam artists. Mavis corporate replies in Yelp to appear they care but when you escalate to corporate it's a dead end. It's everyone for themselves. I had wantagh mavis tack on an extra $100 to the repair or they wouldn't give my keys back. This is legalized extortion, I really don't get how the corporate execs are not behind bars. They're running & facilitating a franchise of chop shops. New tire was ordered and returned today to have it installed. Upon further inspection today by Al, their mechanic, and Teddy, their manager, it was found that the nail did not go through!
