brakes and rotors after getting the brakes and rotors done, I went home (approx. 2 miles) my left front tire was smoking. i called them back and was told it was the coating on the rotor and would it go away. the next day after going a few miles , it looked like the tire was on fire with the smoke coming out. I went right back to shop and they put it back on the lift to tell me it was the caliber. keep in mind I didn't have any problems with the brakes, I just needed them replaced because they were getting worn. so after telling me for $200 more they would fix it. after an argument I told them to put the tire back on and I was going elsewhere. I could understand if it was two or three days after the repair, but not right after the repair. in closing, think twice about going there because I never will again read more

Outstanding service from when I first called them on the phone to when I left the shop. TJ was the first person that I spoke to on the phone right in the beginning. He was very helpful and just told me to come by and see what's going on with my car. He walked outside with me and went over everything in more detail and he told me that he would take care of it and, that's exactly what he did the whole time. I just have to say K U D O S! to the folks at the Woodbridge Mavis Tire! I had been going to another local Mavis for years and the service was great, well, until it wasn't anymore. I decided to give Mavis one more try and tried the one on Rt. 9 in Woodbridge. When I tell you the difference in customer service, quality of personnel, and quality of the work was so very different - believe it! My tire warranty was honored. The work was done immediately. And they repaired the poorly done work at the other Mavis location.My only negative is that I did not get the names of the wonderful people working there today - and that is on ME! The worst!!! I came In to get two tires mounted and balanced should take 30min at the most. This place took 3 hours and I am not joking!!!! The excuse was that the machine broke so they had to take the wheels to another location to get them done. How is that my fault and the manager was talking to me in a way as if he was doing me a favor. After he said the machine broke I said okay ok I'll just take the car some place else he said no you can't do that because the wheels will be shaking you have to wait. I missed my doctors appointment. This place sucks!!!!!!!!!! I waited so long that when I left the store I smelled like tires. The business owner is a lier!!!! And they didn't waive anything I told them I'm not paying for this because I missed my doctors appointment so I had to pay a fee for that. I had an amazing experience today. I have been struggling a little bit financially and my brakes were grinding the gentleman,Rob, at Mavis tire was more than willing to work with me and help me out to get my car back up and running. I am currently working from home full-time due to the pandemic however I have a part-time job and other commitments I need to get to safely. So my car is a big source of my sanity at this point. Some of the other reviews about un-trained technicians and cheating customers are absolutely correct. Worst experience I've ever had with my car. I cannot believe I brought it here and let these idiots handle my car. Long story short, I brought my car in for a wheel alignment back in March on a Sunday. I was leaving for Boston the next day and I had just gotten new tires at a local Costco the day before. I spoke with Brian, the guy in the front who bolsters more about how much he knows than actually proving it through his work. I get in at 9 o'clock and I told him I had an important meeting the next day and was going for a long drive, just need a wheel alignment and can you double check to make sure my tires were balanced? Simple right? No not with these idiots. He went on to explain how you can't trust Costco because "what does a wholesale club know about tires?" Apparently more than you Brian, you dumb you know what. After about 3 hours, they took off my tires and came to tell me I needed new break pads. Also, to show me apparently how my caliper bolt wasn't in place and asked who worked on my brakes last? Well, I didn't know because I bought my Lexus from the dealership 2 years prior and I hadn't have anyone work on my brakes since, so I was assuming someone trustable. Brian also went on to tell me I'm lucky nothing happened because apparently I'd been driving with a loose caliper bolt for 2 years. Dam I must've been the luckiest dude on the planet. Anyways, I was going to hold off, but I called my mechanic (he's closed on sunday) and he advised to to just get the rear brake pads. Fine, so I told Brian I'll get them. Next Brian comes back 45 minutes later, saying I need to rotors. I hold him sure. But wait there's more to this scumbag, he came back another hourish later that apparently because of the loose caliper bolt, I need new calipers....Lol. At this point I told him yeah because I had been here for almost 6 hours now and I just needed the service done so i could get home. After another 2 hours, I ask Brian what's the status? He told me they don't have the part and he's trying to get someone to deliver it, but assured me it'll get here and be changed by closing time (7pm). I decided to go home while they do the service. 6:30 comes around and no word so I call Mavis. Brian picks up and tells me "the guy is on his way but you should come now so we don't end up waiting for you since we're closing at 7. Great, you already wasted my whole day, but atleast I'll get my car right? Lol NOPE. The calipers weren't there when I arrived, and I ended up waiting until about 8:30 pm when my car finally arrived. This ended up costing me about $1000 for 2 rear break pads, rotors, and calipers (unnecessary they just didn't know how to take Lexus calipers off). I pay and leave finally and get in my car. Get in, and there is a check engine light on inside my car related to the brakes that I never saw before. I go back inside, and the dude Brian is blowing vape clouds at the counter. What a cool dude. I tell him about the check engine which was not there before and he give me the, come back tomorrow....(knowing full well I'm going to Boston). I take pictures and go home and pack. Next day, I leave at 4 am for Boston and as soon as I got in my car, I knew something was wrong.There was this terrible sound coming from my rear passenger brake (ironically the last one they were working on). I'm on the highway and when I break to slow down on the ramp going 80, my wheel locks up and I hear this insane metal clinging sound. My car comes to a stop on the should on the ramp. I get stuck for about 3 hours on the ramp because of bad luck (between NJ/NY border, states didn't know whos' jurisdiction I was on). Eventually NY finds me, tows me from the ramp to a Mavis discount locally where the manager here was a good dude, who actually knew what he was doing and not busy smoking vape clouds like a moron. He told me the techs at this Mavis forgot to put in my caliper bolt and it came loose......... I was furious. Apparently what I had been driving on for 2 years according to this Mavis happened the very next day. You can tell the guy at the NY Mavis felt bad for me for Brian and the tech's incompetence. I finally got to Boston around 6:30 pm, missed all of my meetings, and the entire work day. Over the next 2 weeks, I spent extra money in Boston redoing my brakes, and my brake fluid was leaking because the technician at pepboys told me they didn't put a part they were supposed to (i think a gasket or something). What an experience. Take this as you will, but I wouldn't have been as mad, knowing they overcharged me because of my situation if they had just done my service correctly. All in all, I was so busy in Boston for the next few months, I never fought this event. I'm currently sitting inside this Mavis location after almost totally losing my rear driver side tire on the GSP. I was towed here because my spare required specially sized lug-nuts that were not in my vehicle for whatever reason ‍. The two gentlemen that assisted me were immediate so kind and understanding of my situation. I really wanted to avoid buying tires because I literally just ordered 4 new ones from an online retailer my father uses. They sent me next door to check if I could purchase the specially sized lug-nuts from the Advanced auto parts store they're connected to. They were able to get them for me, and they'll be arriving to the store in a few hours. Since I have to head out to a job they're letting me leave the car and they have coordinated with the Advanced next door to being the pieces over and put the spare on for me, at no cost to me. I can't even tell you how relieved I am to not have to deal with someone just trying to pull money out of me. Their customer service is phenomenal, and I would recommend them 100xs over. I'll be having my tires mounted and balanced here as soon as they arrive. They're also letting me wait inside (with a mask of course) and out of the heat while I wait for my ride. Service is fair but their rates are a rip off charging 3,5 hours for a 1 hr job at most. That's Low! (As in being low)!! I went over to another mechanic down the road who agreed to do the job of replacing my a/c compressor using parts that I purchased from Auto Advance and charged me 30% less than STS...AND will refill with freon! I cannot begin to explain how thankful and happy I am with this Mavis location. The service is excellent and the work is impeccable. Rob- the manager is such an awesome guy! He takes customer service to the next level. If you want honest work and honest recommendations for your car this is the place. This location isn't out to try and scam you and tell you things are needed on your car when they really aren't. They WILL definitely try to save you as much money as they possible can. The also give you discounts from the beginning. Currently they have a brake special and Rob immediately told me about the discount before I even had the chance to ask. The staff is also very friendly and will go out of their way to ensure you're happy. Furthermore, this location is very kid friendly and even has coloring paper with crayons which can pass the time for kids waiting. I had to bring my 7 y/o with me and we all know kids love the phone. Rob saw this and offered my daughter some paper and crayons, had her draw a picture and hung it up on their wall along with drawings from other kids. My husband had tires put on our lease on July 9, 2020. Since then, we have been back 5 times! There was vibration feeling coming from the passenger side that is felt both in the front and back seats. They kept saying that they checked and re-balanced the tires. Every time they claimed that, the vibration was still felt. They also lost his wheel lock key for his tires and miraculously found it in the parking lot after my husband called corporate. We were given a credit for all the inconveniences and yet still a vibration feeling. So we went to the location in Fords on New Brunswick Ave. They looked and took all tires off and rechecked everything and balanced. Then they suggested that it might just be the tires. They informed us that we had to go to original location to deal with that. We took the car yesterday, August 24th to have them check tires at this location AGAIN. They told us that we can upgrade to the next level tire and would give us the exchange for the current new tires we had. My husband agreed to get the upgrade and they did it. When he picked up the car, they only gave him a prorated amount for the new tires that were on the vehicle with all the issues and then proceeded to charge us for the balancing, disposal fee of tires, alignment, etc as if we just decided to replace the tires for no good reason! So after the first bill of $436.68, they charged us another $236.10 yesterday for all the other services. So ridiculous! It wasn't our fault they sold us this crappy tires. My husband asked for it to be most cost effective because the lease goes back in January but didn't say to give us the tires that wouldn't really be recommended for our vehicle.... I would NEVER recommend this place in a million years! Awful to deal with and apparently a complete rip off too! read more

Great customer service! I was greeted with a smile and because I work across the street from the shop the mechanic drove me to work. Location is very convenient and the job was completed at the time promised. They're on the expensive side, but the location worked perfectly for me, got the problem fixed without losing my day off waiting at home and they didn't charged me for checking it, unlike the other guys. read more

I would like to give a special Thank You to Mavis Discount Tire in Woodbridge!! Myself and my son found ourselves stuck on the GSP with a blown tire 40 minutes away from home. I had to get towed because my spare was no good. I was actually suppose to go to a different location, so you can imagine how upset I was to find out I was at the wrong place and the other location was the one that had the tire I needed. The manager assured me they would figure something out and get me back on the road before they closed!! They had someone go to the other location to pick up the tire, put the new tire on, made sure the tail light that was hanging was put back, all the tires had good tire pressure and because the force of the blown tire messed up my bumper, check to make sure nothing would cause any issue on my way home and as PROMISED had me finished before they closed. The absolute worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. I got a flat tire while in the parking lot of a Mavis Discount Tire. I just finished doing some holiday and grocery shopping, my car and trunk full to the brim. The weather is awful, cold and sleeting. I think how blessed I am for this to have happened in front a a Mavis. Wrong. After waiting a good ten minutes for someone to come and speak to me inside (and that was only after another customer told them I needed assistance) I was told they close in three hours and there is nothing they can do to help. They asked me to leave my car until tomorrow. I told them of my situation, and that I lived in another state he said that's too bad. He then asked if I had a spare or a donut and I said yes can you help with that and he shrugged and said no. I am now waiting on a tow to take me to Firestone where they are more than happy to help a customer in need. I have been sitting in front of Mavis with a flat tire for two hours and they have been watching me through the window laughing. Absolutely disgusting. read more

The manager or representative Rob was amazing. My initial reasons for stopping at that facility were out of convenience because of its proximity to one of my visits. When I mentioned my concerns and what needed to be looked after, Rob assured me that he would take a look at what I mentioned and if it needed additional that he would make a call to confirm the work. I did receive that dreaded call but to my surprise it was Rob asking me some qualifying questions about the reason I requested them to look over my car. After answering, he informed me that my brake pads we at 80% wear and 65% wear, and at my next change of pads for the rear that I should change my rotors. This honesty was a breath of fresh air. I was expecting a Pepboys or JiffyLube experience, where I would be told that my entire suspension needed changing or overhauling. Mind you, I only came in for an oil change, but because of his honesty and care for my experience, he won a customer for life. read more

I made an appointment online and showed up at the designated time of 10:30 AM. After waiting 30 minutes I was told they only had two of the four tires I reserved. They said the delivery of the other two tires would be between 1 and 4 PM. I had to return to Staten Island where I live and wait for the call that my tires were delivered. At about 3:45 I got the call that the tires were in. I made it back to New Jersey at about 4:30 PM and they took my car in within 20 minutes. I was offered a discount of 10 dollars per tire for the inconvenience which was nice. It then took 2 1/2 hours to install 4 tires! One got mounted backwards and had to be remounted. When I finally got my car the wheels were filthy from the crap they use when mounting the tires but at that point I just wanted to get out of there. All of this when there were hardly any customers there. Just not a good experience. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. read more

And the tires didn't even look new, they were pretty dirty looking. I go back inside to explain this and he comes out side and again in a condescending manner says I dunno what u think new tires should look like then explains that he couldn't change the rim to be on the side I wanted. Ok, completely understandable. BUT YOU HAD TIME TO TRY TO UPSELL ME ON FIXING MY STRUTS BUT NO TIME TO EXPLAIN THIS DURING MY WAIT??!?!?!? Measures my tire pressure and indeed one does need air. Needing air on a brand new tire is just beyond me. You have ONE JOB!! They def left a bad taste and my mouth and customer service was way below average esp from that rep who seemed like he hated his life and his job.
