After spending $700 for Mavis to fix exhaust on my once reliable Honda Accord I had to return it a month later as the exhaust was equal to a 60's muscle car. To their credit they recognized the problem and agree to fix it under warranty. Unfortunately the fix was a blotched epoxy patch job that triggered a catalytic sensor to turn on. I brought the car to another another garage and they due to the botched patch job done by Mavis it will cost me an additional $1,000 to fix the exhaust ($1000) and catalytic ($1300). I dont think I'll ever use Mavis again. Fix it right the first time read more

Extremely disappointed in this place. Brought my wife's car here to fix a flat and to get the fluids checked. They wanted to replace the flat tire and two others and wouldn't fix the flat. They never checked the fluids and the coolant was extremely low. I was told the fluids were checked and not to worry. Another place fixed the flat and the tire is good as new. The other place also took care of the engine coolant. How bad is that? read more

Worst service ever. They replaced 4 tires & front brake rotors & pads. Picked up car & they were charging for wheel alignment which wasn't done. Drove car to discover no brake pressure, returned car, where they proceeded to bleed the brakes multiple times after which they discovered was an installed bent brake fluid pipe! Drove the car to hear a grinding noise coming from front wheels, take it back, they tell me it's an engine problem. I take it to a mechanic who puts it on the lift to discover they dangerously installed the brake mechanism incorrectly, which caused the lack of brake pressure & the scrapping on the outer edge of rotor. Mechanic fixed the problem, & Mavis reimbursed me for the mechanic's charge but I want to be reimbursed for their incompetent labor charges. Their district manager is useless too! Alessia was knowledgeable in helping me make a decision of which tires to get (Firestone vs Prinx) and she never pressured me to get either; she just provided the facts and was patient. Mario was also great - I had not realized the lock key in my vehicle was missing & he searched my car high & low trying to find it. When we couldn't find it, he helped me figure out how to proceed. I had a 10am appointment yesterday for an oil change. Arrived few mins before 10, walked in with another customer. At 10:10 someone from the garage finally came to attend to us. The gentleman that walked in at same time as me was taken first. He needed 4 new tires. I was greeted next. In told them I had a 10am oil change. They said it would be 1 hr to 1.5 hour wait as they had a guy getting 4 new tires ahead of me... I'm the one with the appointment! He didn't have one. He was a walk in, as I overheard him. How doesn't the manager, or employees, value an appointment over a walk-in? Isn't that the premise of an appointment? I was a repeat customer also for multiple services. Don't wonder why this place only has 2.0 stars -After an employee telling me that they don't have ST3 forms (they actually just get printed off the web but the employee didn't want to be bothered), I left, went back to work, printed one out, filled it in and I submitted my NJ ST-3- as I am an automotive business and the tires were to be tax exempt for resale. I put it the employee's hand and he said *nothing* about not being able to handle the form. Low and behold, after going to lunch instead of waiting there- I called right before they were closing and they told me that my car wasn't done because they didn't process the form and that *I* had to call corporate for it. **On a side note: I have been in automotive repair for 35 years and have never had to do anything other than just give a vendor a filled out ST-3 The car was brought to them on a Sunday because getting my customer's tires done was an emergency. The price difference between paying tax and not paying it was under $20 but they decided to predictably take the lazy route and did absolutely nothing. After a heated conversation, with both the employee that I had spoken to and 'the manager' I demanded that they do my tires RIGHT NOW! They kept telling me that they couldn't stay (this was 15 minutes before closing time). Well, they ended up staying a whole 10 minutes late to do the tires BUT, in retaliation, they stole my customer's earbuds (which I saw in the car when I dropped it off). I'm now out $100 buying my customer new earbuds! I generously gave them 1 star only because there isn't a 0. read more

Always good service at this Mavis. Good experience today. Chose not to have brakes done but manager called me back to tell me it really isn't safe to drive with the breaks in their current state. I have been going to Mavis now for about a year. I take my car there for everything. John at the desk (the manager) has been kind, knowledgable and educational towards me since the beginning. As a woman, I am usually hesitant to go somewhere new. Especially in a male-dominated setting. John made me feel comfortable from the beginning, however. He took all my questions and answered them with kindness and knowledge. He has never pushed any sales on me and has been true to his word when it comes to cost, product availability and more. They also work with you when it comes to your personal budget. He was honest about how many tires/brakes I needed and when I could wait until to do all of it. Of course you always have to advocate for yourself and ask as many questions as you need to to feel comfortable having someone provide a service, but the staff at location will help you make the best decision for your car. read more

Brought car in for oil change. They said it would go in, in a half hour. My husband asked if they could also check a tire with slow leak. About 2 1/2 hours in, I called. All is fine said manager. Tech will call you. Called and said I needed 4 tires and a battery. I said just the oil change and I heard the guy say "put the tires back on". Told me slow leak was dry rot. I assumed for $45 with $10 off coupon included, they'd put air in the tire. Nope. Husband went to use it and tire almost flat. Not going there any more! read more

I paid to have my brakes repaired and had nothing but more problems. The service tech was rude and incompetent. The manager on duty was pleasant to deal with but could not make up for the extremely poor level of service given by his staff. To make matters worse - the general manager basically wanted a round of applause since he had the brakes repaired the second time at no cost. Maybe he needs a reminder that I already paid for this work/service. Your guys just didn't do it correctly! Rude from start to finish. I called them mid-week knowing the exact tire I wanted. I went through the phone selections to buy my tire. The 1st woman who answered the phone. sounded nice enough, I said Good Morning and told her I was looking for one of this certain tire in the exact size. She said ok, and I was transferred​ without warning. A little miffed, but assuming I was now being sent to the proper department, which is why I thought I was when I went through that ridiculous​ phone tree in the first place. I was transferred​ to the next woman I spoke to who when I told her I wanted this certain tire in this exact size said: "you just come right out with it! Hold on." Then I was put on hold for 2-3 minutes without. warning. When she finally came on she ordered my tire and quoted me a price well above what it should be. Discount tire? Not at all. Who cares this is. being paid for by my road hazard insurance, so I went with it. Rude, overpriced, but this place is close to my house and I thought it'd be easy to have done. Today, I finally get there to have the tire installed. When I walk in there are 2 guys behind the counter, on helping a woman and the other on the phone. 2 customers in the place, the one being the woman. When the man was finished with the woman I stepped up to speak with him. He looks at me like I am presumptuous to walk up to him "do you have a question?". I say "I had ordered a tire to have it installed today.". He replies: "We are busy, just sit down and I'll get to you.", not taking my name, looking my order or anything. Again, rude. For no reason. I walk out. There are a ton of places that can install a tire. and do it with class and professionalism. This place has none. I will order my tire on Tirerack.com and have it delivered to the local gas station near my work who treat their customers with respect and truly appreciate them. I needed 2 new back tires so I called and asked if they could fit me in and get it done by the end of the day the woman on the phone assured me it wouldn't be a problem. I got there and walked up to the counter and waited 10 minutes for the one person working the counter to get off the phone. Once he was finished I told him I called and that I needed this done by the end of the day so I could get home from work he said they wouldn't be able to do it and that I would have to keep it there over night. He said they are "understaffed and already behind" which is not the customers problem. He offered me no other solutions other than to leave it there and "hope they get to it". This is the second Mavis location that I have called before hand and they said they can fit me in and when I got there they said they couldn't. Never going back there again! Stay away! read more

Shopped around online for some tires and found Mavis to be the best price. I was a little apprehensive to take my business here due to the negative reviews. But I figured if I didn't like the service - it is easy to walk out. I spoke with Leo and told him what tires I wanted. He had to order them for me and they would be here next day (which is today). He showed me a price, and the cost of the tire was a little higher than the online price. Leo told me he would obviously honor the online price. Tires came in today and I went down and was immediately taken. They informed me of brake wear and suspension becoming weak (my words not theirs). I declined both services and was not pressured to replace these. Got my 4 new tires on - hassle free, and had some nice conversation with Leo. Nick rang me up and we went over everything on the bill - without any problems. I will definitely be back to replace my tires on my Yukon XL. It was a pleasurable experience. read more
