There were no cars in the bay and only one technician present. After 20 minutes passed another customer joined me in the waiting room, who had an 8:30am appointment. I mentioned that the business was behind schedule, as my appointment was for 8am and my car was still sitting in the parking lot. He was not surprised and replied that he purchased his tires at this location and brings his car in for ongoing tire maintenance. His said that his experience has been that the technicians do not arrive and begin work until (at least) 8:30am. In the end, his car was ready before mine, which took until 9am. read more

A couple months ago I had to replace the starter on my civic. They fixed it but the radio didn't work anymore. I brought it up on a return visit. The manager at the time who's no longer there instead of offering to fix it gave some excuse alluding to the fact that it will just drain the battery and that im better off not getting it fixed. I also went back there again. All my brakes needed to be replaced. it cost over $1000. I asked South Shore auto and they said they would've charged only $800. I went there for an oil change. I waited at least 2 hours. After an hour of waiting, I was asked what I came In for after I already told them when I initially came in. They had one guy there that looked like he was retraining everyone there because someone made a mistake. I have no idea what that was about. Also don't expect corporate to compensate you on your grievances regarding poor service. They'll apologize but thats extent of it Which is disturbing given Mavis being a multibillion dollar corporation. Don't come here unless you enjoy punching yourself in the face. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Mavis in Wimauma on July 24, 2026. I arrived about 20 minutes before my scheduled 4:00 PM appointment to have all four tires replaced. A heavier-set employee greeted me, and after I explained I had a 4:00 PM appointment, he looked at another employee and said, "Another one. This is ridiculous." He confirmed my appointment, then asked if I was dropping the car off until the next day. I explained I was told it would be completed the same day. He responded that I'd be there "all day." When I asked what that meant, he said they closed at 6:00 PM, then turned to his coworker and loudly complained, "We ain't leaving here at 6. This is ridiculous. There are six other cars before her." He then simply said, "Keys." When I looked at him confused, he repeated, "Keys." His tone was aggressive and dismissive from the moment I arrived, and I seriously considered canceling my appointment. After I walked outside, I watched him get into another customer's vehicle, accelerate aggressively into the service bay, and honk the horn while driving it inside. As a customer, that was concerning to witness. Around 5:30 PM, I returned to pick up my vehicle. The other employee introduced himself as Thomas and was polite and professional. I asked for the manager's name and learned the employee who had treated me so poorly was Ernesto, the store manager. While I was discussing my experience, another female customer also commented that Ernesto had been rude to her. I confronted Ernesto about his behavior, but he responded with sarcasm and showed no concern. I understand businesses get busy, but no customer should be treated like an inconvenience for arriving on time for a scheduled appointment. A store manager should set the example for professionalism. I hope Mavis corporate reviews this incident and addresses the conduct displayed at this location. read more

Went for an oil change which required synthetic oil never had price quoted , my bad. 101.00$ later out the door. The oil change supposedly included tire rotation. Not sure this was completed, but I'll say yes. Anyway, next morning, oil dripping in my garage. I took car to my trusted mechanic who found turbo intake lines at bottom of engine near drain plug were compromised ie.crushed. Bottom line, the nubile tech probably lifted the engine to remove the oil drain plug or rotate the front tires probably with a floor jack or similar lift. Didn't see that so cannot verify. So 1200.00$ later for turbo line replacement, I spent 1300.00$ for an oil change. If it wasn't a one day later event, I would dismiss it. And yes the tech was young and probably not trained properly or supervised. So next time you want an oil change. consider the vendor. Didn't bother going back to dispute, would not have changed the outcome in my mind. Tell your friends. read more

I had new tire installed. Took on highway they shook badly returned to store they told me there tech said they were fine. Took back out on highway still shakes. I went to an independent tire shop in Ruskin. They removed wheels and showed me the wheels had 5 weights on each wheel. They told me this is not acceptable.i paid them to balance them correctly. Do NOT waste your time in setting an appointment here because they absolutely will not honor it! I'm going out of the country and wanted to get a repair done to my tire before I leave, so I scheduled a day and time to come in and get a simple patch done (10 minutes tops). My reservation was for noon and I arrived at 11:50AM. I go up to the desk and guy looks at me and says "I hope you can drop it off because it will be at least 3 hours! I said to him "I have an appointment at noon and he said as though he was already prepared for that response, "No Sir, you did NOT have an appointment for a time, you had a reservation FOR A DAY!" I said "No, It asked me for what time and I picked noon and it was confirmed!" He simply did not care and just said "I don't know what to tell you!" I would like to praise the customer service that I received at the Wimauma Mavis Tire & and Brakes location.  The undercarriage cover on my vehicle broke loose on Sunday night.  I really did not know who to turn to, but had seen their location across from the Walmart shopping plaza.  I went to their website and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 8am.  The service offerings in the drop down menu did not offer what I needed, so I selected the Front End Check that is free.  Once I got there, I explained my real problem, not knowing if they would even look at my vehicle.  Much to my relief, not only did they readily take my car in, but provided an "on-the-spot" estimate of $17 (that is not a typo). Once my vehicle was on the lift, Carlos, the manager of the Wimauma location, advised that this is not something that they typically do, but wanted to help me out and get me on my way.  He was able to re-secure the undercarriage cover and I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes from start to finish. While Carlos was working on my vehicle, he explained what he was doing and even suggested places I could get a new undercarriage cover.  He advised that they offer light mechanic services, which essentially covers almost every type of auto services you might need.  My recommendation to anyone who has an issue with their vehicle, is to take it to Mavis and explain your problem.  They will quickly let you know if it is something that they can handle and if not, give you recommendations on where you can bring your car besides the dealership - which is usually the most expensive option. We all have heard the stories of unscrupulous auto mechanics, but that simply is not the case with the Wimauma location.  Carlos' only objective was to help me out and get me on my way as quickly as possible.  It is unfortunate that in today's society, our expectations on customer service are so low, but it does give me hope when you do come across a business/person that truly does just want to help. read more

been here three times for new tires wheel alignment and brake service etc.and three times Ive been disappointed they do not honor if you schedule an appointment be ready to be there all day or leave you're car over night for tire change and wheel alignment not only that they did not balance my tires and installed them properly making my car vibrate on 40 miles per hour etc. I think Mavis is great they need to change management and personal in this location which I think they are not professionals smoking in the work area it is dangerous next to vehicles I hope Mavis pays attention to this matter read more

i purchased six MasterCraft tires from another tire dealer for my RV. This is a great brand because I can get (free) help filling my tires and as a senior, this is tremendous! I stopped in at this shop and although manager(?) said to pull up, no one offered to help until after about 10-15 minutes I asked a worker walking by if he could help. James was awesome! He helped me with a smile and professionalism! if the regional manager is reading this, James has manager potential! He cares about the customer and made this stop pleasant. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They "replaced" my brake rotors and my alternator. I initially went in for the rotors but they insisted the alternator needed to be replaced as well. They charged me over 3k for this work. Immediately after picking up the vehicle the brakes were still squeaking. I told them and they said it would stop. It never stopped so I brought it to Nissan and they told me the rotors were never replaced they just polished them. So I had to again pay for all new rotors this time with Nissan and the squeaking stopped. Now today I'm in a different shop because the alternator is going. I told them it was replaced not that long ago and they said no it was just painted!!! So now I'm out another $1500 to actually replace the part! Stay faaaaaar away from this place. Honest, fair, respectfully, courteous! My wife stopped in as the tire pressure reading on the dashboard was low and there was possibly a slow leak on passenger tire. Asked Service Writer to 1. check slow leak & repair 2. Check all tire pressures as the sensors were providing abnormal readings 3. rotate Tires. Technician determined the tire sensors were not sensing tire pressures accurately and may have inadvertently been moved during recent oil change at a different business. The technician corrected the senor issue and all tire readings were accurate. all tire pressures were checked, They rotated the tires. They did this all complimentary and just requested we consider their services in the future, which we will do. So nice to find a reputable business. read more

Our battery died during a cold, miserable rainy day. After we had AAA give us a jump we went to a competitor auto parts place but they told us they could not help us due to the rain and safety issues to replace a battery in the elements. We found Mavis right down the street from where we lived and they had bays we could pull into so they could give us a new Die Hard battery without worrying about the rain. The technician we had was great and they got us in and out of there quickly. The manager Thomas was also very helpful. It was a well run, clean facility. Overpriced services and trying to up sale for services not needed. Took vehicle for tire leaking air. Tire too old to repair and as well as another tire too old and should be replaced along with the front tires due to dry rot. This shop also claimed that the front brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. Took the vehicle to another tire shop. They repaired the tire and said the tire should be replaced in about 1 or 2 years. The other tire too old is old, which is was almost at end of life. So we bought a tire from ebay, half the cost, and had another tire shop install the tire. For the brakes and rotors, took the vehicle to another shop to check rotors and brakes and the shop said that the brakes and rotors have 3/4 of life left so no need to do any replacement. So glad we did a second opinion! Mavis quoted $1,907.19 and the necessary repairs costed about $200. read more

A dashboard light indicated that the sensor had failed in one tire on our car. Went to this company to have it replaced. They replaced the one then told us that the other three were not in good condition. How would they know? The sensor is inside the tire so they would have had to take all the tires off the rims to see the condition of them all. Then they told us that the one could not be reprogrammed which would have turned off the warning on the dashboard. All this for $139+. We took the car to another auto mechanic who tried to reprogram the sensor but, in the end said it could not be done as the sensor was faulty. This mechanic said he could replace all four of the sensors for $120+ and the reprogramming was included. Due to the age of our car, we had him do that. Dash light went out. All sensors are working fine. Car problem resolved. Problem with Mavis Tire is another thing. They are balking at refunding us for the sensor they replaced. Without a satisfactory resolution within the next few days, we expect we will be filing a complaint with the BBB or with Hillsborough County Consumer Protection or both very soon. read more

This is the most dishonest of tire companies I have ever done business with. Brian is rude and supports the dishonesty of the company he works for. He tried to take advantage of my fiancé until I got involved. At first his worker under him would NOT put him on the phone to talk to me. They tried to over sell all 4 TPS monitoring systems until I finally spoke to him. They also told her to come up and pick up a portable air compressor that they did not have available as stated. A big waste of time and stressor for my fiancé! I wish I would have read the BBB on this company. See below just one of the rulings against them. I set an appointment for 12, was told it would be done before 3, came back at 3, and then was told it 'would be done before 5'. What an absolute lie. I had only requested service to change my two back tires, so I don't get the big problem. I had to walk an hour back to my house after I dropped it off, and then an hour back, so that is time I won't get back. I seriously do not recommend coming here, find somewhere else. This is the worst shop I have ever come to, and I definitely won't be coming back and the man at the front desk tried to placate and manipulate me because I was upset about their inability to provide the services that they promised, which, I am allowed to be upset about. He was acting as if I was being insane, when I was just trying to express my concern about them lying about when they would have it ready. And the best part is, after I had my complaints, they immediately raised it up on the lift, and started changing the tires. They tried to charge me $387 for a price including a alignment but they didn't even do it in the first place, so after vividly explaining how they quoted me the wrong price they finally admitted they did it wrong, changed the price, and did the alignment for the original price of $287 which they orginally quoted me for. I told them exactly what I was there for. 3 hours after my appointment time had passed, they finally brought my truck into the shop to "look" at it. They tell me that their shop can't replace the exhaust because they don't weld. First off, what mechanic shop can't weld? Hello Mavis Management Team I need some help. I got my car towed here and no one ever called me back about it. My car had a flat tire so I called my insurance to tow it to Mavis. When we loaded my car onto the flat bad, my driver window seemed to stop working for whatever reason. My tow truck driver told me he did inform you guys of the window. Im kind of concerned why your staff never called me back and left my car outside to get rained on. I never was informed by Mavis that my car arrived and what needed to be addressed. I never received a call or text from any associate yet. My driver arrived during open hours so I'm not sure why your staff didn't call me during open hours. Had I not drive by to check where my car was parked, it would have been rained on worse. I'm upset my car was left with a broken window OUTSIDE. And if there isn't room inside the garage why not tell me? Why not let me know so I can take preventive measures for my window? I came out in the middle of the rain to tape up my window. My inside was drenched when I got there. I was never told you guys were going to leave it outside. I never spoke to anyone. That's really negligent if your customers window is Broken and it's in your possession. I need some help please. This is really unacceptable and needs accountability somewhere. I went in on a Wednesday in need of a new tire so that I can go to work they put a tire that was the incorrect size on my wheel. Once I informed them of the error they then informed me that they don't have the correct tire size for my car and that they would need to order it I said no problem because I was headed out of town I was told that the tire would arrive on Saturday. When Saturday arrived i contacted mavis wimauma and was told that my tire that I already paid for the order was cancelled and that I would have to wait an additional 4 days to receive my tire. No one was sympathetic or understanding of the stress and inconvenience that they had created for me. I missed a total of two days of work behind lack of communication with their call center and them. read more

I've also went on their website and called their corporate office and got nothing but the runaround and incorrect people calling me back. I don't know how this franchise survives with the complete disorganization from corporate level to store level. It's astonishing how bad it is. I probably had six corporate people call me back all clueless as to what I was wanting and telling me they would have the correct person call me back, which never has happened, completely disorganized company. I tried to give them a lot of business as some of you know I own a lot of cars and I like the idea that they are open on weekends, but even though the store is nice and new and across from Walmart and next to Woody's Car Wash which are both great places, this place will only survive because of the profit margins I suppose, definitely not because of the service. I was able to call and get it for them then after waiting and waiting they tell me that it's taking a long time to get an approval Carlos tells me to go on home and he will call me to come back and get receipt two days later no call so I call him and was told he can't find it I bought hazard warranty for tires and I asked what happens if there is no Mavis tire where I have a problem at and I'm told sorry your SOL buy a new tire really! I go there hoping by the time I get there he will have found it NO again I come back home call customer service am assured that I will get a call in 15 min you guessed it no call I call back to customer service 20 min on hold she tells me she will have DM call he does but do you think he wants to r compensate me any part of my $1300.00 the only thing I get credit for is my hazard because it does me no good if there is not a mavis in the city where I am I was in retail my whole life and was a DM with multiple stores I would have made my customer happy before the end of the call which by the way didn't happen What ever happened to customer service! Mavis Tire dsnt deserve 1 star. I'll never take another vehicle to Mavis Tire on Mars Hill Rd in Acworth. I called Mavis for a quote on 2 tires. First of all I thought I was calling the tire shop for a quote. Later I found out it was a call ctr. The guy gave me a quote of $90 each for All terrain tires. He was price matching w/ another tire shop online. Awesome!!! Told the guy I was on my way. When I get there the "manager" said she cld not sell me tires for that price. I was pissed & she knew it. She said she cld give me 1 tire for that price but not both. I had to walk out & let my daughter deal with it. Keep in mind I told her All terrain & the girl even wrote the tire size & all terrain on paper. I didn't have a choice but to use them. 1 tire was bald about to blow. The other tire was almost flat from a leak. We wait over an hour & a half. When they pull my truck to the front I was pissed. She took it upon herself to put all season tires on my truck. This girl tells me she can't give me all terrain for that price & she will take the tires off & put my old tires back on. I was shocked! This told me she didn't care about the safety of her customers. Again my daughter sent me out & she handled the transaction. We didn't want to chance driving on my old tires so we left with the all season tires. I let it be known I was calling Mavis headquarters. I called headquarters & was told a regional manager will call me back. The next day on my way to pick my daughter up from work One of the new tires started losing air. I had to get my truck towed home. I didn't hear from headquarters until the next day. The regional manager asked me to send a picture of tires online & she will price match. I told her about the one tire & not having a way to bring my truck to the tire shop. She then says if the price match is approved I can bring my truck back to switch the tires. How in the hell am I suppose to drive my truck with a demolished new tire. The next day the manager from the tire shop called saying they don't have the tires I sent the quote for but they have tires they can order. Why not order the tires I sent the quote for? Then she said it's going to cost me another $60 for mount & balance after I just paid $268 when the quote I got was $90 from the call ctr. The mount & balance cost me $40 how is it now another $60 & the manager is the one who screwed up by putting the wrong tires on in the first place. They also charged me for an alignment I did not need of $99. I didn't ask for an alignment nor did they ask me if I wanted an alignment. The invoice is confusing to add charges I don't understand! im on a fixed income i font beed the stress! Now I'm basically screwed & broke! Thanks Mavis!!! read more

I would never intentionally lie about anything. I'm the type of person that doesn't sleep at night over the tiniest thing. Carlos over at Mavis in Wimauma is a straight crook. He is a thief. He shouldn't have a job period. I've had 8 tires put on my car in less than a year by this shop. He lies repeatedly making me purchase a warranty that covers absolutely nothing. I have all the paperwork to prove this. This is what his shop did and I can not prove this aspect of it but I know the truth, Carlos knows the truth and so does God. I made a trip to Chicago, when I got there the tires I had done in May, (it's now November 1st) from Carlos shop. On Nov 1st I had two more tires put on my car because the tires Carlos shop put on were already completely warn down. Mavis in Chicago gave me two Kumho tires under my warranty as a favor because they had them sitting there in there shop and my warranty tires were for Arroyos, fast forward to December 18th and now the other two tires that Carlos put in in may need to be replaced he claims. I had brought the car in because one of my Kumhos had a slow leak and they're less then 2 months old. Took it to Carlos and he then calls me hours later after I had to repeatedly call the shop because a simple patch job was taking all day for him to then state not one tire needs to be replaced but BOTH of them because there are wires exposed and both my tires are trashed, I knew that was IMPOSSIBLE so I went to the shop to look at the tires and his shop STOLE my Kumho tires and put the warranty tires on. I can't prove that because the system states I had on the warranty tires even though I had on Kumhos that Chicago Mavis put on there as a favor to me, so I didn't have to wait for the other tires to come in. I had to then call the police file a report on how they ripped me off on tires and then again made me pay for two brand new ones. I called Chicago store but don't want to get them into trouble with corp for doing me a favor. Moral is Carlos is a crook. He's a person that will lie straight to your face and steal from you. This shop is disgusting. Zero stars! Court bound, and I will win due to negligence and for corp not honoring any warranty's. Carlos should be ashamed of himself and his workers.
