First time here and what a great experience. The guys were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. I stopped in for an oil change around noon on a Sunday. There was only one other vehicle there, and they got me right in. They didn't do hard up selling, but provided their recommendations. They have several coupons available in their app as well. If you're looking to save a few hundred dollars if you have a European vehicle, requiring European Synthetic oil, I'd recommend stopping in. I paid 1/4th what I would have paid at the dealership. First time I had them change my oil in my BMW they damaged my oil pan and I had to get it replaced. It was expensive because I only use OEM parts. This time I asked for them to put the proper tire pressure, which was 32 psi in the front and 35 psi in the rear tires. I had to drive a few miles after resetting it so it could measure it. I had to go right back to them b/c my front tires were at 28 & 29 psi and my rear tires were at 29 & 32 psi. Of course, they said they would take care of it and now my fronts are at 29 & 37 psi and the tears are at 32 & 41 psi. These guys are nice but their work is poor! read more

I would NOT recommend the Valvoline Riverview location. During our visit, they damaged our vehicle and refused to take any accountability. We came in for a routine oil change and tire rotation on our SUV this past Sunday. Three tires were completed without issue, but on the last tire we heard loud, abnormal noises while they were working on it. It clearly didn't sound right. They ended up forcing the tire off and stripped the lug nut studs to the point they couldn't even get one of the lug nuts back on. Multiple employees kept coming over to look at the wheel, yet no one communicated with us about what was happening. After over 40 minutes, we were finally told something was wrong and were sent to Mavis for repairs with one lug nut in our hand the could not get back on the tire. If they were able to get it on the tire I don't believe we would have been informed at all. At Mavis, they replaced TWO broken lug nut studs and told us they OFTEN get customers sent over from this same Valvoline location for the same problem-- which is very concerning. It tells me Valvoline is the PROBLEM. We contacted the area manager with our $135 repair bill and were told they would not reimburse or refund anything. They only acknowledged one damaged stud at first, even though two were broken. Our vehicle had zero issues before service, and we literally heard the damage happen while they worked on it. I wouldn't be upset if they just took accountability for their mistake. I have lost all their trust. They were quick to suggest the damage may have already existed, but if that were the case, why did we hear the stripping noise while they were working on it? And why did they wait so long to tell us there was a problem? The area manager also stated they would force the tire off to complete the service; however, if a tire is not coming off properly, it should not be forced--especially if they cannot fix the resulting damage. They should have simply stated they were unable to complete the service due to the issue with the tire. We would have been far less concerned if that had been done. What should have been a simple oil change and tire rotation turned into a $240+ expense because of their mistake, and they refused to take any accountability. If they can't perform tire rotations without damaging vehicles, they shouldn't be offering the service. Customer beware -- if something breaks while they're working on your car, don't expect them to make it right. read more

However, when they changed the oil on my truck they checked the oil level after getting out old oil and putting in new sythetic oil and it said 78% full. I was told it would go to 100% as the fluids move into place. It never did.... still at 78% but I paid to have it filled. The associate Jessica was amazing and helped me through my other random questions and was able to offer me options that worked well for me and not necessarily for upselling me. I really appreciate when I'm told the honest truth about the state of what my car truly needs and not just to sell me something. She had taken my air filter out and was honest about me being able to go a bit longer with the current one. They didn't fully tighten the oil filter so the oil leaked all over the brand new pavers in my driveway, including drips all the way to the end of the driveway. The pavers had to be replaced. To save time and money, my husband bought the pavers and did the work himself, but the owner refuses to pay for his time and materials since he's not a contractor. you'd think they'd appreciate the lesser expense than if a contractor had done the work. read more

The other local places I have been to were not good, so I was skeptical. They were very friendly when I pulled in and when I asked them to be sure and check the tires they said that is part of the service. Great. The air conditioning was making a noise so I asked them to look at that for me and they said they would be happy too. Well I knew it was a possibility I would need to get her new tires and they showed me the issues. One was not repairable and another was bare. They gave me a great deal on 4 new tires so I said okay. They even checked the alignment for me and it was just fine. I really felt like I was at an honest place. I have a warranty for the car so when confirmation came that the air conditioning was shot I wasn't surprised. It was making grinding noises. They called my warranty provider and took care of everything. What a great experience. I thought they only did oil changes. I took my car in yesterday for an oil change which I had to wait over an hour just to be seen. Drove it straight home which is only 6 miles away and didn't drive it until going to work this morning which is where the problem started. All of a sudden an "engine maintenance required" light comes on. I have a 2019 Toyota Rav 4 with 43,870 miles on it and I baby that car. Nothing was wrong with it when I took it in! I called and spoke to Tyler, the manager, who walked me thru how to reset the light, but this was different than the oil light so that didn't work. He told me to bring it in so I drove straight up there and had a guy try to do the exact same thing I tried and of course it didn't work. Tyler comes over and says he used to work at Toyota and that is an emissions light that I don't need to worry because it's no big deal and without even looking under the hood or anything, sent me on my way assuring me it was nothing they did. After looking it up online it looks like a coolant bypass valve that could cost up to $1000. My car was perfectly fine before they touched it. I should've followed my instinct and left after watching these people work on the cars in front of me. They took forever and the amount of questions that had to asked by the techs the whole time I was there should've been enough of an indication that they have no clue what they are doing! read more

My wife purchased a battery from Valvoline for her 2015 Kia on 7/5/22. The battery had a 3 year warranty. In November, 2024, her car battery would die on a regular basis. Alternator was good. I took the car in to the same place on 301 in Riverview. They checked out the battery and deemed that it was bad and under warranty. They replaced the battery while we waited in the car (we were not allowed out of the car, while they were working on it). A week later, the car battery went dead again, and I popped the hood to charge up the battery. I noticed that the date on the replaced battery was 5/24 (6 months old), with a "Use First" sticker on the battery. They also said, that if the replacement battery went bad again, that we would have to purchase a new battery. After multiple times of the battery going dead, I decided to go to Sam's Club and buy a new battery on 1-13-25. Beware of Valvoline's poor practice. Never take your vehicle here!!! My car was perfectly fine until they touched my car! Save the headache of car issues. My car was perfectly fine until this Valvoline messed up my radiator causing my car to overheat. They recommended a radiator flush. Watched the machine not work and then the employee try to eyeball my fluid back. Next drive I go over 25 miles, my car overheats and coolant fluid is everywhere. My car broke down. Made a claim and they did not refund me for a failed service and the lady even admitted a car would over heat due to not enough coolant. Also, acknowledged the machine did not work. Claim was denied. I also took photos right when it happened and submitted to Valvoline. Plenty of evidence. They do not want to make things right for their customer. Never would I recommend anyone to any Valvoline location after this experience. PS They tried to respond to my original post saying claim was resolved and addressed BUT forgot to add it was DENIED! They did not make things right, resolve and make me whole. It was endless me having to call for update. Horrible experience and it was NOT resolved and addressed. It was DENIED per area manager Gabby. Hours later after manger denied my claim and hours after posting my original post on Yelp I get a voicemail call back saying they had it further reviewed and are giving me full reimbursement which I am grateful for and happy about because they are finally making it right. However, that does not change the fact I was told several times I was denied. This was a terrible experience and when I tried to let them make it right, again a terrible experience. Great location which is brand new. The workers are efficient. They jumped tight on the work and completed a transmission flush on my vehicle. No waiting and was willing to complete the work while other type businesses would not do the flush because the vehicle had high miles on it. I went to Valvoline on 301 just north of Big Bend in Riverview on 9/13. Basic oil change; full synthetic. Get the oil change. Tech shows me the dipstick, didn't see any oil on it. Gave him a look and he said, "Trust me, we put the oil in." I leave and head north on 301 towards my home. I don't get far and I hear a metal sound from my engine. It wasn't there before I went there. So I turn around and go back to Valvoline. They say it must be something else and the oil is fine without checking the oil level. They just tightened things up. Tyler asks if my Manual Transmission fluid had ever been changed or my Differential. I hadn't had those done since I bought the car a year before. I went back several more times to see if they got the fluid in to do those services. It took several days and was all said and done by Sunday the 18th. Still hearing the noise; I had complained about it each time I went there. I went to Sonny's Tire & Auto and we took the car for a spin and the auto tech could hear the noise. They didn't check the fluids because the car had just got them all changed. I had to wait for the motor mounts to come in last Thursday as that was next on the list to be replaced as a possible culprit to the noise...nope. I turned around immediately and went back to them. We went out for another spin, and listened to the car. They checked the oil and less than two quarts were in the car. There should have been 6 to 6.5 quarts. There's no leak from the head gasket or oil pan gasket. They didn't see any leaks from the oil filter or anywhere on the car. They replaced the oil, started it up and it wasn't burning any oil. I call Valvoline regarding the situation. At this point I am livid as it is clear the oil level was low due to their negligence. Talk to the Customer Service Agent, who eventually put me through to the store manager. Start the claim and tell them the situation. Manager insists the oil was put in the car even though he wasn't there and said there is a video. I said there is no way in the world a car loses that much oil driving a mile or so down the road. So we argued for a bit and said his statements don't match the facts. He goes, I am denying your claim. I call back, complain again and say I want to speak to the district manager. I get a call back from Chet, the regional manager. He says the same thing. When I ask him to explain where the oil went, all he could say was we put the proper amount of oil in. Knowing he is completely lying to me. So we argue about it for a bit more. They are currently refusing to accept responsibility from their mistake. I have pictures and video of the car from the mechanic. They found tiny metal shavings in the oil when drained. Chet promised he would email me a copy of the videos...all of them last Thursday and I have not received one yet. Either they don't have the videos (anymore?) or there never were any. Do not trust them to do anything with your vehicle. If they make a mistake, they do not stand behind their services. They are about the money and don't care about the customer. DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE. DON'T GIVE THEM A DIME. I am going to add this section and a picture showing the amount of oil drained from my car. If they had put 6 quarts in, 6 quarts would have come out. Less than 2 quarts were put in my car by Valvoline. Additional Update. Found out they do not have video surveillance cameras inside their location. Both the manager and the Regional manager said they had video and would send it to my email. Never received it. I communicated with a former employee who said do not have video cameras. They use this tactic as a ploy to discourage customers from filing complaints and pursuing legal action when they know they made a mistake in providing a service. When things go well...no problem. When they make a mistake, they do whatever they can to avoid taking responsibility. Ethics, honesty, integrity and morals are lacking. The other thing, you will get responses from them saying they want to work with you and to please contact them. When you contact them per their request, they say they are still denying your claim. If you want to know how a company truly is, see how they act when things go wrong. Too bad I can't select 0 stars. read more

I returned to the shop so the issue could be resolved. The manager stated that they would not touch it. That it was a manufacturer issue and that I needed to take my vehicle to the dealer. He stated that they did not like to work on Kia, VW, or Hyundai vehicles because of this. I asked him if that was a problem from the beginning why let me drive into your garage for service. I told David their oil change caused an oil leak and I have an emergency. I told him I will bring my car in today, this is an emergency and I cant wait in line. They always have one or two bays open. He said I must wait in line! David needs to take care of emergencies without making paid customers with leaks wait in line. Would give them zero stars if I could. My husband got his oil changed there and half way down the road his skid plate came off. He went back and asked them why the skid plate was not placed properly. They tried to say that his bolts were bad, which they were not since it had recently been replaced less than a year ago. My car jerks and the Manager said take it to a mechanic after they had to put more oil in my car and adjust whatever under the hood. I took my vehicle in for an oil change, have my fluids checked, and fill my tires with air. After a day or two, my coolant light started to come on on my dash, my tire lights came on as well indicating that I had low tire pressure and when I checked my tires, the workers at this Valvoline location failed to tighten the caps back on the tires and one was loose and close to falling off, and my car shakes when I get near 80 mph. The vehicle that I have is not cheap. It is a Mercedes and the maintenance is insane. I took my vehicle to this location before and my car was fine, but after the second visit the service was unacceptable. I guess for me, getting an oil change is already an incredibly boring process so overpaying for the experience is just not something I'm interested in doing. This Valvoline location is newer and very nice so I thought I'd stop in and check it out. The employees were extremely friendly and there was no wait. The employee explained my options and made suggestions on what I needed and answered all questions thoroughly. I honestly felt bad not getting the oil change because they obviously knew what they were doing and seemed eager to get started. However, the prices were WAY too high. The standard oil change for me is usually never over $50.00 and that's with tire rotations. Their oil change to start was around $99.00 and while I loved the tenacity of the employees I just couldn't justify the price. I would definitely visit this location if the prices came down. This location caused my engine to fail. The technician did not remove the plastic covers to the oil filter causing no flow through my engine at all. Not to mention aren't they supposed to be verifying the work amongst one another because I surely watched two to three men working and or looking inside of my vehicles hood. I've also learned from the dealership diagnosing my vehicle that this issue seems to be repetitive. Valvolines process for evaluating and amending these things is drawn out and very inconvenient for the consumer who did nothing of their own wrong doing to cause engine failure. Not to mention I just purchased my vehicle in May and it's a 2021. Hopefully valvoline can work hard and more efficiently to amend the mistakes and major inconveniences they have caused in their consumers lives. I would never recommend this place and considering the protocol they have for scenarios like this it is absolutely not worth the risk. The management although being made aware of this never once reached out to me to touch bases first hand but will call back and forth with the service technician at the dealership who luckily is willing to share information with me. I am a firm believer that everyone deserves the opportunity to right their wrongs and make amends so hopefully in the future I will have a more positive perspective and update on this but for now absolutely not. read more

I went for a basic oil change. Timely service, however, they recommended a tire rotation and a few other things that I had just had done to the car less than 5,000 miles ago. Also they offered me a air filter and then when I said yes, they proceeded to tell me they didn't have that one in stock (I drive a 2013 Nissan Sentra lol). Fair price and convenience. Oil change started off great. Towards the end is when it got bad. One employee accidentally sprayed oil all over the side of my car. Wouldn't seem so bad except it was sweltering heat inside I have the shop. So our windows were rolled down and the oil came inside the car. Ruining clothes and the interior of the car and covering my children in oil. Manager did not come outside for 13 minutes because he was busy. Upon arrival he would not answer any questions while he was filling out the report. He stated that he was the area Director and no one could help me but him, and that he had worked in all the stores close by. I learned the area Director was Chad Metcalf I asked for him to call me and he never did. They did offer me $139 for a detail on my van.
