Skinny margaritas
Pam S.

We sat outside. The covered patio was nice with lively plants and colorful decor. We had service right away to bring our drink order. My request for skinny margarita was not on the menu, but they can make it delicious! Complementary chips, salsa, and guac mixture is great to snack on although the chips were a bit salty. My ground beef burrito stuffed with beans and rice had good flavor. I would definitely go back!

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! So delicious! I had the carne asada and it was a big portion. The mango margarita is my favorite. There's lots of seating and the waiter was really nice and attentive. Every time I come here, I have a great experience. I love the environment. Definitely a must stop!

What a breath of fresh air! We had an authentic Hacienda vibe...beautiful decor...cozy, with music to fit the vibe...delicious fish tacos topped with pico de gallo, lettuce piled high on a flour tortilla ...chips and salsa (green and red) Dean had crunchy carne asada tacos with a fried flour tortilla piled high served with 2 salsas (green and red) ..the margaritas are half price during happy hour...so we will return to try them! We loved the building and overall space embracing the Mexican culture.

BBQ Enchilada

We had a great experience here! I visited with my mom and sister after a girl's afternoon. The flour tortilla chips are an absolute must order. The margaritas are tasty, but not the best you'll ever have. Each of our meals was delicious, especially my BBQ enchiladas, which were a surprising favorite. The outdoor atmosphere is fantastic, and I definitely would recommend sitting out here if you are able to. I will say, this is pricier than your average Mexican food spot. Each entree was $20+

Enchiladas De Pollo Dinner

The enchiladas were really good! The real star of the show however was the flour tortilla chips with queso.. highly recommend!! We got margs, fantastic & the service was great too!

Enchiladas De Res Dinner -note: you get two. One was already gone when I realized I didn't get a picture!

Maximo's Cantina is a cute place in downtown Elkhorn that is comfortable, with kind service , and pretty dang good food based on two experiences several years apart. On this occasion, we stopped by because we happened to be in the area. Gotta say that the prices were shockingly high. I know restaurants are having a difficult time, but $16+ for guacamole and about $14 for 4 stuffed jalapeños? I don't know if they're good because we aren't paying that. We did pay $4.40 for chips and salsa to start. The chips were spot on. You get two salsas, one is a regular red salsa which was great. The other is a creamy, onion, avocado dip which was out of this world. I wanted more (and the recipe, please!). For an entree, we shared the Enchiladas de Res, with shredded beef and verde topping. You get two enchiladas with beans, rice, and a small handful of lettuce. Oh my. Very flavorful overall! The beef was moist, oh it was good. We left satisfied in the stomach and a little sore in the wallet.

I love the atmosphere. Beautiful patio setup . We were seated right away but it did take longer than expected for service. We had already decided what we wanted so drinks and dinner were one and done and easy on the waitress. The enchiladas were good but not really $24 worth. I'd have gotten queso but too expensive. The atmosphere was my favorite part

Lives here for three years and have not taken the time to try this place out. Had a late night softball game and stopped in Friday night for some quality food and great reverse happy hour that was from 8 to close. The service was fantastic and we really enjoy this place. It will become my go to for Mexican food in Elkhorn.

Almost $5 for one taco?

Beautiful atmosphere. Horrible pricing. Insane prices. Am I at a four seasons on a tropical island? No. I'm in Elkhorn Nebraska. How are the prices for average Tex mex blah made from from Sysco foods on par with V Mertz in the old market made by true chefs with top notch ingredients? This is clearly bonkers. This place could be 2x busier with a 40% reduction in price.

Stopped in here for the first time last week. It's a cute spot in the heart of Old Towne Elkhorn and right on the main drag. The food was pretty good. We ordered the cheese dip, that has small bits of peppers in it, which isn't always well received, but it was good. There were not enough chips for the large order. I ordered the fajitas and the lunch portion was definitely on the small side and I did have to ask for the tortillas. Overall the food is good. It is pricey, compared to other 'authentic' Mexican spots. The service was really slow, and there were not a lot of other tables so we were a little frustrated. All in all if you're looking for a long lunch type of spot in a cute atmosphere this is a great pick.

Poor service. Tacos very sub par. Disappointing. Waited 30 minutes to be waited on and then the waitress forgot 1 of 4 orders.

A lot of yall bitched and moaned about A&A, and for a tex-mex meal, she wasn't that terrible! I…read moremean, we basically had the outdoor patio to ourselves. We snagged their beautiful drink, Mango Habanero and oh was she spicy and also burnt to hell and back, but my husband won't be complaining... I chose their Shrimp Acapulco off their Avenue option. And if I'm honest, the breading was giving "sweet n sour chicken breading". All it was missing was the sweet n sour sauce, and bam. I didn't completely dislike it on the shrimp - which were plentiful - but I wasn't expecting it! I'd probably get them again. Drizzled some of their traditional queso on top and Now their chips - for their chips and salsa - were a tad, hard... and maybe on the more cooked than usual, aide. But paired with their queso AND salsa, they weren't terrible. We also grabbed their Carnitas Burrito, stuffed full of all the things listed in the menu and boy is she big! I hear it was "real good", with a "real good flavor" he has plenty for tomorrow - or a midnight snack! We HAD to head back toward the other side of the city, and get my most liked, strawberry cone dipped in butterscotch (because they don't have peanut butter!!!), at sweet ole Zesto Omaha.. p.S. please get a peanut butter dip for my medium strawberry cone, pleaseandthankyou.

Bottom line, I understand where your servers get their attitudes from, your GM, Zack is rude,…read moredismissive and very unprofessional. Will not be back and we will certainly let others know about the rude, childish and unprofessional treatment we received. To many other good places to choose from and "Baby, this ain't that one"
