The fries here were the absolute best fries! They were crispy and seasoned well. The staff were friendly and treated us well. Would definitely visit again if in the area!

Went here with a group of folks from work and didn't have high expectations. I was very wrong! The food and service were excellent and the restaurant vibe was positive. Great experience!

Stopped at Maynard's late afternoon on a Saturday. The lot and street parking was a bit busy but we all found spots pretty easy. We were meeting part of a group that was already seated on the wharf/patio. We opted to sit at a table nearby. The views, being right on Lake Minnetonka were nice. The menu is small & limited on the patio but a lot more options inside. I think if I went back I'd eat inside and then go out to grab drinks and enjoy the views. Looks like it's really nice at night. We only got an app - Italian waffle fries for food and I got the strawberry lemonade. My friend got the spicy marg. The strawberry lemonade was just okay. Tasted a bit watered down. Drinks were fairly cheap, the food was a bit pricey but they did give a large portion. Also the fries came with seasoned sour cream. I thought the fries were just okay. The seasoned sour cream tasted like it had the same seasoning as the fries which wasn't all that special. Our waiter was nice & attentive. Overall I'd come back again.

Maynard's patio/wharf overlooking Lake Minnetonka is hard to beat and a summer staple! It is a great spot to socialize with friends or coworkers. There is no reservation for the seating on the wharf so definitely get there early to secure a spot. Their wharf menu is a much more limited version of their main menu with plenty of staples. However, their wharf menu lacks vegetarian / vegan friendly items so if you have a dietary restriction be sure to look at the wharf menu prior. Their waffle fries with seasoned sour cream are a must order! They are perfectly seasoned, crispy, and delicious! In the Frannies chicken salad was also really good and much more filling than I had expected. The service was fast despite being a busy Friday summer night. I will continue to come back here for good food and fun summer vibes! I'd love to try more of the menu items that they serve indoors but not on the wharf.

I heard of Maynard's patio and wanted to give it a try! We got to the restaurant and it was really busy (Saturday around 5 pm). We walked to the back patio and were told tables were first come first serve and the outside menu was limited to just bar food. Waiting for a table is awkward, not going to lie. You and everyone around you is looking at the same table and it feels like you're both running to see who gets it first. Definitely not my favorite way of dinning but I guess it works for them. The food, as mentioned earlier is limited to their bar menu, so it's okay! Not spectacular but will be filling and you'll have a nice view. If you're looking for a place to get drinks and hang out by the water, this is the place for you! If you're looking for great food and drinks, consider dinning in their restaurant instead of the back patio.

My favorite season is Maynard's Warf season!! There is something about sharing an seasoned waffle fries with your friends on the warf overlooking Lake Minnetonka at sunset - I leave with the best memories and thinking about how soon I can get back! The staff is always friendly and provides quick service. My absolute favorite thing to order at Maynard's is the Frannie's Chicken Salad. The lettuce is fresh, comes with several toppings including avocado and a hard boiled egg. The coconut crusted chicken is crispy that pairs perfectly with their honey mustard dressing. Notable entrees: Firecracker Chicken Wrap & Chicken Tenders. While we cant enjoy the warf during winter, we will be visiting Maynard's inside restaurant where they have an extended menu add a great happy hour.

Firecracker Shrimp Tacos + Downeast Blackberry Cider

Classic American restaurant right next to the lake! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and was genuinely surprised how packed the restaurant was especially because it was already so late and it feels like there's not many people living in Excelsior. - Firecracker Shrimp Tacos - Honestly the tacos were not bad although all the ingredients came together in a way that I thought it would. The tortilla unfortunately tasted like it was from Costco and all the other ingredients like the guac, salsa, etc. seemed to also come from Costco. However, I will say that the shrimp itself was very good and I loved the sauce they drizzled all over it. Also the portion size was huge as I could barely finish the 3 tacos. - Downeast Blackberry Cider - Delicious! Not sure if there was a lot of blackberry flavor to it but I like how it is has more a soda taste rather than beer. I definitely felt a bit buzzed after drinking the tall glass. Overall, not a bad place for lake views and food. Definitely recommend walking along the lake afterwards!

Parking was a breeze as we arrive at 4 pm. When we left at 5:30 there were two people fighting over our parking spot. The service was pleasant and efficient. I had a hummus salad and my mother had the cob salad. The quinoa in my salad was very wet and soggy. We also had an order of walleye fingers as a starter. The restaurant is pretty loud with all of the people in the bar area and the TVs. Outside was too hot for my mom so we sat inside and dealt with the noise. It is hard to have a conversation with the noise and mom's hearing aids.

This is the place for when you are in need of fresh air and to cure a hangover. The wraps are great, the beer is great, and if you can find a spot on the patio.. so are the views.

Tried out Maynards for the first time on the 4th of July. The patio was great and so was the service. We had a burger and the buffalo chicken wrap with seasoned sour cream. While they were all good, I feel like going there is more about the vibe than the food!

Such a fun summer place!! You can either sit inside or outside in a bigger, more casual venue outside. I recommend getting a reservation if you want a space inside for dinner. The venue is right on the water which is really fun, and I lot of younger adults at night - the bar gets really popular. The service inside for dinner was attentive and the food was good - more of a classic American bar-ish food - we got a huge spread of food. The spicy marg was also really good. Fun spot!!

    Sliders Italian Waffle Fries

I had seen raved reviews on TikTok about the buffalo chicken wrap. I had been craving a buffalo chicken wrap. So my friend and I came here to see if it lived up to the hype. The staff was all so friendly. The bar area has a happy hour menu with chips & salsa, cheese curds, Italian waffle fries, firecracker shrimp, burrata caprese, bone-in wings, and steak bites. There was also drink specials but I didn't pay attention. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap without lettuce or celery or blue cheese crumbles. I got the waffle fries as the side. The a wrap was delicious, I love that the chicken stays crispy and the wrap has great flavor. The waffle fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. My friend ordered the Italian waffle fries, which has rosemary on them and comes with a seasoned sour cream (OMG. This seasoned sour cream is delicious!!!). She also ordered the sliders- Mr. Jimmy style and she liked these. Overall, we would return. And if you're looking for some good American food, check them out!

Here's my review of the food we ordered: Cocktail of the hour - aka "Golden Hour" - 8.5/10 Reminded me of mulled cider, notes of honey, very refreshing Pork Belly Steam Buns - 8.1/10 Nice texture, very tender and flavorful Mini Banh Mi - 7/10 Not bad, would have preferred the more traditional pork filling Crispy Chicken- 8.7/10 This really surprised me, from appearance the chicken didn't look that special but it was well seasoned and the sweet chili glaze really stole the show and elevated this dish! Mirabelle Smash Burger - 8.9/10 I'm a sucker for smash burgers and this one did not disappoint. Nice crispy bun and a special mustard sauce that we enjoyed and a different flavor I don't usually have on my burger Sticky Ribs - 5/10 Unfortunately these were quite dry and was comparing to sticky ribs I had last week at CoV that were fall off the bone Overall good spot, service, atmosphere, and would be happy to return. Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

We didn't have to wait too long for our food and when it was brought to the table it looked good. Their choice of plates is an interesting one because the plates have specks that make you think they're dirty. The egg rolls weren't good at all and the inside wasn't fully cooked so you could take the flour in the wrap. The jerk chicken flatbread had no jerk sauce/seasoning on it. While I understand food costs and needing a pared down menu, gone were the uniquely Jamaican dishes such as the jerk bowls and the jackfruit, etc (still on the website by the way). So what I tried was a Jamaican Banh Mi. Basically, grilled chicken with some sliced vegetables in an imitation of a Vietnamese banh mi. I really enjoyed the sauce they drizzled on and their mango Cole slaw was one of the first times I actually liked a restaurant Cole slaw. Sadly, a sandwich with a thin slice of chicken breast and some Cole slaw is not worth the $19 price tag. While the service was very good, Montego Blu doesn't stand out anymore given the lack of their Caribbean options.

This is it--the perfect place for a summer meal. From the amazing food and great service (thanks,…read moreTheresa!) to the stellar patio, Layline delivers an absolutely amazing experience. If I had found this place earlier this summer, I probably would have spent many happy evenings here. (I truly can't emphasize how well this restaurant captures summer vibes.) The menu was great and ticked all the boxes, taking advantage of the bounty and mood of the season. For our starters, we ordered the arancini and the johnnycake. Both were delicious. The arincini was crispy on the outside and oozed with creamy cheese. The romesco sauce complemented it perfectly. The johnnycake was fluffy and delicious and had the perfect balance of sweet and salty (don't skip the jalapeño infused maple syrup--it isn't spicy; it's just an extension of the sweet and savory balance). For our salads/veggies, we split the last three on the menu: the cauliflower, the Brussels sprouts, and the watermelon salad. My friends, don't skip any one of these. The cauliflower is a cauliflower steak that is perfectly cooked (be sure you get a lovely toasty bit!) and made for delicious savory-salty-tangy mouthful with its tomatoes and onions. Doenjang and tahini? Heck yes! The sprouts were covered in a spectacular mojo verde (imagine what pesto would be if it were Indian and you'd not be far off) that was a creative and absolutely apt pairing. As for the watermelon salad, it was all summer: chunks of watermelon, crumbles of feta, basil, hazelnut, and rings of Calabrian chili. It tasted exactly like relaxing on the porch with your most sophisticated but still totally chill bestie. For my main, I ordered the linguine pomodoro e vodka. Dude. It was so stinking good. I love a good tomato sauce, and this one did not disappoint. Crispy breadcrumbs? Yes. Mint and basil? Yes and yes. Chili oil? Heck yeah! This packed a punch and was an absolutely glorious foil for the burrata. As for dessert, I went for the crème brûlée. It was really good! It was rich and creamy (almost buttery) and absolutely chock-full of vanilla bean. Very good indeed.

The Smoked Gouda Hash browns are worth getting on the side with any item that doesn't already include them; they are so creamy and have a rich cheesy flavor with a nice crispy top layer. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Avocado Toast. The bacon bits, lettuce, and poached egg completely overwhelm the avocado, which is virtually nonexistent. There were still a couple of tables occupied when we were seated but within about 20 minutes, we had the place to ourselves. Nevertheless, we were never told to rush and even when the check was brought to me, our server told me with a genuine tone, "no rush". The pizza is from a brick oven and is best characterized as having a crispy, cracker-like crust with a red sauce bordering on the sweet side of the spectrum. The portions and toppings were fresh, generous, and appealing to the eye upon delivery. Definitely no complaints about the food! I really liked that they have an affordable and approachable wine list. We had a bottle of DOCG level Chianti for $29.
